I like Sherry’s overall; I have been there twice now. What I personally don’t like is the atmosphere of the house. I may be a little too«sensitive» but something about it gives me a funeral home vibe and its not the décor because it is lovely. Don’t get me wrong; the owners are hospitable and courteous, the cheesecake is delicious(a little pricey) but it’s the atmosphere that keeps me from going their more frequently.

Of the cheesecake we’ve tried, we’ve only disliked one or two. This is not because they weren’t good, but because we tried flavors we knew we don’t like, such as cherry. For someone who likes cherry, it was probably amazing, like the cheesecake we tried and liked. My only issue would be price. The slices are relatively small, but cost near $ 6. BUT, the taste is worth it.

Sherry’s Signature Cheesecakes was such a pleasant surprise! We visited there today with family from Clayton, the sisters who run and own the place are just some of the most gracious and customer oriented folks I’ve met. We had Banana’s Foster cheesecake, Girls Scout Samoa’s cheesecake and their Apple Strudel caramel crunch pie and it was all worth bragging about! Beautiful setting in a very old house, each individual place setting in this old home was very nice. Great place for family and friends to gather or even better place for a special occasion. Price was excellent, 5 people and less then $ 20 however 3 people had water. Highly recommend you put this place on your«must visit» list and enjoy.

Cheesecakes. Lots of them. Sherry’s has nearly 70 different kinds of cheesecakes made from scratch on site, a 19th century house(that doesn’t look it) on the main street of Clayton. Not all kinds are available at the same time of course; but generally, about five different flavors are ready on any given day. There’s a small chalkboard with the days’ flavors listed just inside the door. While I opted to grab some slices to go, you can also stay and relax in any of the decorated dining rooms, and on nice days, outside on the porch. The two dining rooms I glimpsed had only a table or two each, so Sherry’s is probably good for small gatherings. As I waited for my cheesecake slices, I could see into what must have been the kitchen where the mixer was going and workers were chatting. It didn’t smell like baking cheesecakes, though. That made it easier to resist temptation. If cheesecakes aren’t your thing, Sherry’s also has pies, granola bars, cookies and cakes. I’m not sure what is available on daily basis for those, but anything they have is available for ordering in advance. The two slices of cheesecake I chose, the turtle and the plain-jane, only lasted a few moments by the time everyone sampled a bite all while bemoaning that I didn’t bring more. That’s a good sign.
