Breakfast visit and wish I could report back EPIC stuff but alas I cannot. Makes me sad sharing that a $ 30+ breakfast just didn’t hit the spot for TWO people. What the heck?! First, the artichoke and ham omelet for nearly $ 11 is a massive disappointment. Not much of an omelette and was served with 2 sourdough toasts that quite frankly tasted a little(just a little) better than the omelette. The cheese was partially melted in the omelette… seriously, that’s a big no no. The artichoke was alright and the ham wasn’t great… The granola pancakes were tasty but not fluffy and LOTS of air holes. You get 4 thin ones for roughly $ 11. We were asked if «bottomless coffee» was what we wanted and of course that sounds awesome, right? Well… skip it. Cause for nearly $ 3.50+ you’re just paying for unlimited refills which doesn’t make much sense considering EVERYWHEREELSE let’s you get bottomless coffee for under $ 2.50 or thereabouts. We had to ask for milk since they don’t keep that at the coffee bar. Service is meh… they are somewhat friendly at the bar but there’s no table service and it feels awkward if they clean the table or if you’re supposed to do it… however they don’t mind asking for a tip when you pay for your order. Also? They give you a NUMBER. It’s a stand that has a number and you take it to your table. They should try to adopt what Chick-fil-a has and go with colors or what Mud House does with animal faces. I don’t know, something better than a NUMBER. Will I be back? Probably… but when there’s other choices nearby… you know.

Really like this place. My husband’s office is walking distance so he loves getting lunch here but we also stop here for brunch on the weekends too. Everything I’ve had off the menu has been great, the staff are incredibly friendly, and they serve good coffee. I also love the bright and modern design of the place too.

The food was good, but you don’t get much considering what you’re paying.

My partner and I had a fantastic brunch here today! Whitebox Eatery is easy to find, and they validate your ticket for the parking garage behind them. The whole place feels very crisp and«mod» with their white color scheme and minimalist design. The man working the register, Michael, was incredibly friendly and very helpful. Basically, you order at the counter and take a number to your table. We really hadn’t been seated that long when Mr. Fearless’a matzo and egg breakfast arrived, followed quickly by my soy chai and granola pancakes. I definitely cannot complain about how quickly the food came out. Mr was very pleased with the drip coffee and his matzo and eggs. I took a bite and it was not really my thing. A lot of interesting textures(like the leeks) and good, savory flavors. It was also a beautiful dish! The barista made an excellent soy chai. It was very smooth with subtle but strong spice flavor. I really loved the granola pancakes. Great flavor and texture. I was really impressed with how the granola added to the pancake texture – chest enough firmness without being too crunchy(I have some weird texture issues). The caramelized pears on top were a wonderful addition! Very very pleased with this meal.

Delicious food! Bright, clean interior. If you have a group of 5+ call ahead and they will reserve a table for you.

The space is adorable and very fitting to their brand — elegant, simple/minimalist but still very put together. I also don’t think it has been«found» yet and makes a nice and quiet place to hangout and study or just talk for a long time. The food is fast and is order at the front then they bring it out style, which makes things more casual than a Winslows home. My friends really enjoyed their meal(egg dishes), however I got a breakfast salad that had way too much dressing on it. Too bad. I think they’re still finding their groove, but I would definitely go back.

Want one of the best egg sandwiches in STL? Come here!!! They have so many to choose from. So good. I got the veggie egg sandwich. Very healthy and filling! I’d also like to try their pumpkin pancakes. Will definitely go back.

This place is kind of like Winslow House but Faster Service(much faster service). This is the deal, you order at the counter and they deliver to you. Pros: 1) Bottomless Blue Print Coffee. What? Blue print doesn’t do this and you know this is the best Coffee in town! 2) Strong alcoholic brunch drinks 3) French Toast = good stuff 4) Biscuit and Gravy!!! 5) Pastries, etc. Everything here is great. There is lots of seat, but limited parking/there is a garage you pay for. All and all, I will come back time and time again!

You need to go. Breakfast was next level. Get the cinnamon roll!!! The service is great. The food is fresh. I can only vouch for the pancakes and French toast but they were worth every penny. Expensive but worth it.

I first came to Whitebox Eatery for a Unilocal event several months ago. I was really impressed with the sleek space and service, so I decided to check it out again this past weekend. It did NOT disappoint! I still am in love with the space. They have several half-booths and some full booths throughout. The volume was just right. I was easily able to talk to my friend while we had breakfast, which is more than I can say for some places. I really appreciated the local art on the walls. Finally, I love that this place is similar to Panera in that you order at the counter, and your food comes out pretty quickly. In terms of the food, they have several delicious items to choose from. I went with the Smoked Salmon Sandwich, which came with a house-smoked salmon spread, onions, tomatoes, and caper aioli. I had it with a side of fruit and it was absolutely delicious. In addition to sandwiches, they have quite the array of items for breakfast, including Vincent Van Doughnuts, breakfast plates, and breakfast bowls. It goes without saying, but they also have fresh juice and coffee. I’d HIGHLY recommend the maple cinnamon latte. It might be the best coffee I have ever tasted(they have other latte flavors to choose from as well). Finally, the service was phenomenal. I arrived at Whitebox early and was waiting on my friend for only 5 – 10 minutes when one of the employees came over and asked if i wanted to order some coffee while I waited. So kind and thoughtful! In sum, great food, space, and service. I most certainly will be back.

I ate brunch here on Saturday. I ordered the Chilaquiles and my mother ordered the mushroom omelette. I thought the Chilaquiles were good but honestly there wasn’t that much flavor. I specifically ordered them because I was looking for a lot of flavor and I have been on a Mexican food kick lately. It was just wasn’t there for me. My mother enjoyed her omelette.

Yeah, always amazing. Kate is an amazing barista, the chai latte is delicately sweet and spicy. I had the brioche french toast and a roasted corn salad. The portion size on the salad was very generous. Last thing I need is a wimpy salad that fails to last me few a couple hours. The atmosphere is super laid back, and I love that they have Blueprint coffee. The coffee is so good I had to double back and see what brand it was — I have to say I am not a coffee person, but this mix was mellow, slightly acidic, with a hint of sweetness.

3.5 more accurate The eggs in a box is good though unseasoned. Omelettes are very average. Absolutely Love the ambiance. Very sleek and modern. Clean and white with wood floors and wooden tables. 2 entrees with 2 cups of coffee ran us $ 32 before tip. Considering the amount of food this felt pretty high. Would rather get something more filling, more flavorful, and cheaper from half and half. Pastry case looked good though we arrived later in the day so not a lot for our choosing. Will probably be back but not necessarily for brunch. Sandwiches look good and are on average $ 10. I actually left and got a pancake from half and half after this lol.

I got to visit Whitebox for lunch for the first time. I was in the mood for a sandwich with more than one kind of meat, so I went for the Italian. It had all the ham, cheese and salami I wanted! But I have to say that the veggies and dressing it was topped with was a bit too vinegar-y for my tastes, so I don’t know that I’d get that one again. My father-in-law knows about my crazy sweet tooth, so he picked up a(guten-free) chocolate chocolate chip cookie for me. It was amazing!!! Definitely one of the better cookies I’ve ever had and probably the best I’ve found in St. Louis. It was warm, soft and the chocolate chips were all gooey. I was really nice and shared it with my husband. That was really hard for me…

The cream of mushroom soup and Whitebox Club were absolutely excellent and tasty! However, the menu items are a bit pricy compared to other similar places. I would definitely go back for that club sandwich! Location is clean and inviting. They do validate parking in the attached garage, which is nice.

Whitebox delivered! No really, they delivered and catered our regional conference we had downtown. They showed up 15 minutes early and had an amazing spread of fresh salad, sandwiches, and freshly baked cookies. The sandwiches were your typical deli sandwich with premium ingredients and great bread. I had the tuna salad sandwich, mistaken for chicken salad, and finished it anyways! That’s a pretty good tuna sandwich if you can hardly tell it’s tuna. The cookies were fresh and amazing. I haven’t stopped in but I could imagine doing so just to pick one up.

Had a great experience here this morning with Sarah and the Ben S’s! It is one of those places that STL seems to love where you order at a counter and they bring your food to you. Only they do much more than that. From the time that they bring your food until the time when you leave, it feels like you are being waited on. They check on you just enough to make sure you have what you need without being intrusive, and are happy to bring you a refill, a condiment, a different flavor of jam, etc. The whiteness of the place(is that even a word?!) makes it feel really clean and fresh. The bathrooms were spotless, and the self service drink and coffee stations were also impeccably maintained. My food was amazing! I had the mushroom omelet which was stuffed with fresh mushrooms(duh), tomatoes, and buffalo mozzarella cheese. On top they had drizzled pesto. The pesto worked really well with all of the other flavors. It came with a side of english muffin bread — I had never heard of english muffin bread, but Whitebox made me a fan! The orange marmalade was a little bit thin, but dipping my toast in it worked great. The coffee was good too, and self serve refills! We stayed and visited for two hours and there was no pressure at all to eat and get out, like we might have felt at a full table service place. Maybe it helps that you pre-tip, but I got the impression that the staff was just that friendly. The plaza lot offers an hour of free parking with validation. We paid $ 2 for the other hour; probably would have parked on the street but were running late. There’s more here that I want to eat, so I’ll be back to try something else…

YUM! I’m glad that Charleen S. suggested this place as a brunch date with our respective Ben S’s today. It was a great experience! I was a bit worried about parking considering it is in Clayton. We parked on the street across from the Ritz and walked a block easily. Free meters on the weekend! There is a garage too but I’m sure it’s a pay lot. It’s a cute and inviting space. Modern looking but not too much, bright and clean. You order at the counter and the food is brought to you. Be sure to tip on your check, because while there aren’t «waiters» per se, you definitely are waited on. From bringing your food out, clearing dishware, bringing you anything you need — there are several people who are really working to make your experience better. I was pleasantly surprised that as a vegetarian, I had several options for brunch. I decided to go with one of my favorite food: the grilled cheese. This one came with three cheese and also a tomato jam, which I omitted. You get to choose a side: chips, slaw or «Whitebox potatoes.» I decided to get the potatoes. It ended up being like a cheesy hash brown casserole. They were DELICIOUS! I could have eaten a whole plate. The grilled cheese was also super tasty and cheesy, with delicious bread. I got a hot cocoa, which was also delicious. My Ben S got the Whitebox club, which he found to be unique and tasty. He was not a huge fan of the vinegar based slaw, however. The S’s also enjoyed their food. There wasn’t a crumb left on any of our plates. We sat and chatted for quite awhile and didn’t feel rushed or bothered to leave, which was a bonus. It was comfy and nice. I will definitely be back to try something new soon!

3.5 stars. This restaurant is so clean and bright, almost to an eerie extent. It kind of feels like Ikea, but perhaps a little emptier. The staff is very helpful, quick to bus tables, and promptly brings out food. The crowd here is very… Clayton! surprise, surprise. There are families, there are yuppies, and the rest of the crowd is a bit older. The baked goods on display look delicious, but I went for a hot breakfast. We tried: Mushroom omelet– full of fresh mozzarella and covered with a delicious pesto, nicely balanced dish. Southwest Strata– This egg casserole kind of missed the mark. It was dried out vs. overcooked around the edges. It’s a gigantic portion, and I split it with a friend, but neither of us finished this. It didn’t taste terrible, I just wouldn’t order it again. Bottomless coffee Validated parking Lots of lunch sandwich options I’ll come back to try the lunch, but brunch didn’t wow me.

White Box Eatery is the new kid on the delightful little block of Carondelet Plaza. I went there one sunny Saturday for lunch and had quite the satisfying experience. The mood was quiet and calming with classic rock playing the background. The concept for the restaurant is an ever-changing«white box» with new chefs and dishes all the time, according to their website. This should allow for a creative menu with fun tastes and flavor combinations. The venue is super clean with a few TV’s and minimalist furnishings — largely white and plastic. If you didn’t realize their mission to create a blank slate with their restaurant, you’d probably think the place looked rather boring, but I believe they envisioned the décor to exemplify their mission as well. When I visited, I ordered the ham and brie sandwich with a side of fresh fruit and a chocolate espresso drink. The ham and brie was perfectly toasted with just enough butter on the bread to make it taste oh-so-good but not drown it in extra calories. The arugula, fig mustard, and crispy onions were outshone by the melty brie that any other person might think the sandwich had too much of, but this is me we’re talking about, and I love cheese. It was enough that if you tipped the sandwich to the side, it might slide out. Perfectly melted. And they left the rind on, which is how I believe brie should be served. The fruit was standard continental breakfast fare — quality ripeness and fresh, but nothing exciting. The service was an interesting experience. The menu is behind the counter and you order and pay there. The young lady who took my order was friendly and smiling. Then I proceeded to the drink station to get my water and took my seat. The food and espresso drink were brought promptly to me, and there were maybe 2 – 3 servers/bussers who were constantly perusing the tables and floor picking up the smallest of crumbs and dust. They asked me almost 5 times in an hour if I’d like a refill of water or if they could get me anything. I felt a little overbeared upon, but can I really complain about being waited on hand and foot? To end a calming lunch before starting my day, the chocolate espresso drink was an excellent dessert. It wasn’t too sweet like you’d get at Panera, and afterwards, I felt just fabulous walking out onto Carondelet in high class Clayton with my large sunglasses and latte after my delicious lunch.
