Where do I begin? We went in for some frozen yogurt after lunch only to discover the inventory of various toppings to be quite scant. In fact the selection of toppings likely resembled grocery shelves in Leningrad during the German siege of that city in 1942. One of the frozen yogurt machines was broken. I can understand and occasional breakdown. However, my first disappointment was the absence of hot fudge. After I was able to interrupt the employee who was loudly having a discussion in Spanish on her cell phone, she shrugged indicating that they were out of hot fudge. There are usually a decent selection of fresh fruits to top your yogurt with. However there was no fresh fruit available, so I settled for what turned out to be extremely stale, arguably petrified, Oreo cookie crumbs. While waiting at the register to pay I was startled when the clerk yelled at me from the back of the store to ask me a question. At first I thought she was still yelling at the person on the phone but I realized that she had switched to English to address me. Overall, the experience was bad. I may go back, but will first scope out the topping area. BEWARE. Nene mind. They are now out of business.

Maybe it was because I’ve been eating at the FroYo shop on the Delmar Loop(which is HORRIBLE), but I thought this place was amazing. Even though they only give you three little audition cups, I ended up licking out my taste-froyo and moving on to the next until I had tried every flavor(I feel like the little cups cost the shop more than the froyo samples). They were all good except for a dairy-free watermelon which tasted extremely artificial. One thing I liked about this shop was the novel flavor-splitter. I forgot to take a picture of my creation, but it’s basically a piece of cardstock that splits your bowl into two or four sections, and your different flavors don’t touch and mix. Nice! This definitely makes the customer get a lot more, because you feel like you have to put a little bit in each section, and end up getting a lot. I got more froyo than either of my friends did because they didn’t use the splitter. Either way, it made my experience better. I think Yo My Goodness could have more toppings. I didn’t mind because I try not to put on too many anyway. It’s easy to go overboard, and perhaps the lack of choice is a good thing here. The yogurt itself was creamy and flavorful with just the right about of hardness. All of these are essential. Let me reiterate that it is not icy, too soft, watered-down and flavorless like the one on The Loop. The most important thing about my experience here was the price. My huge froyo and my friend’s together was only ~$ 6. OMG! So worth it! It’s in a nice neighborhood. I pet some dogs while we were eating outside. Will definitely be going out of my way to come back.

Look. This is business 101. You can not have kids running your store. Run it yourself or hire a professional. I hope the owner is reading this!

Yo My Goodness is only okay. The yogurt was icy and not fully frozen in multiple machines, the toppings were sloppy and the overall taste of the yogurt was very artificial and overly sweet(sweet n low sweet, not sugary sweet). Also, the staff member was completely indifferent to our presence, she sat behind the counter in the back room area on the ground or a low stool using her phone the entire time we were in the store except when we paid.

I was having the kind of day that makes the Friends theme song seem cheery. I burned my breakfast, spilled coffee on my shirt, and got not one, but TWO parking tickets in the same day. Naturally, I needed some froyo and the new Clayton Yo My Goodness location was nearby. I searched my wallet for my rewards card and jackpot! I had a free one! My day was suddenly turning around… Until, the cashier looked up from her iPhone just long enough to reject my card saying that it wasn’t valid. Yeah, so the card was probably a little old, but it takes a while to rack up 9 frozen yogurt purchases! Whatever. The card says Yo My Goodness and you are Yo My Goodness. I earned that free yogurt. Also, there was no expiration date. She would not budge. No free yogurt for me. No paid yogurt either. I walked. Hope that $ 2.15 was worth them losing a customer. One that previously had purchased 9 frozen yogurts.

Yo My Goodness is a great frozen yogurt bar in Clayton. They replaced my former favorite Chill when it went out of business. They freshened up the atmosphere and brought in some new flavors and toppings. The fro-yo here is really good, truly exceptional. The employees were very pleasant and friendly and offered us little sample cups to try out the flavors before we committed. They had a great topping selection, as well. My only drawback was that the hot fudge was out of commission due to the pump getting clogged. Overall, I am certain that they next time I get a frozen yogurt craving that I will be paying Yo My Goodness a visit!

Everything was way too sweet! I felt like i was eating sugar with every bite. They really gotta tune down the saccharin. I was also sad they didn’t have mochi bits.

Most Yo My Goodness locations are kind of the same, and they typically don’t impress me very much. The yogurt always seems more icy than creamy, and the flavors often seem a little off. Overall, I’d give Yo My Goodness three stars. It’s not my favorite, but I’ll eat it. However, this is the best Yo My Goodness I have visited. I therefore give it four stars. They have self-serve chocolate and vanilla custard. I haven’t been to a Yo My Goodness in a while, so perhaps they are rolling out custard in all of their stores. I wouldn’t know, but this location definitely had it when I was there. I sampled it, and it was pretty delicious. My husband got it, but I went a little lighter and just stuck with the yogurt. I found that the yogurt here has a decent texture. It was still kind of icy, but it was creamier than the yogurt at other Yo My Goodness locations. I have had yogurt at another Yo My Goodness that really was more like a sorbet, which it was not supposed to be. This location uses Taylor machines. Other locations I’ve visited use Stoelting machines. I’m not a yogurt machine expert, but if the yogurt has a better texture out of a Taylor machine, I have to think the machine makes a difference. A couple of the yogurts here did not seem very flavorful to me. That’s a problem I tend to run into at Yo My Goodness. I’m not saying that I tried a flavor and simply didn’t like it. I’m saying it frequently does not taste quite right. For example, the peanut butter flavor here did not really taste like peanut butter. I guess it was kind of peanut-y, but the flavor was very, very faint. At this location, I was able to let the flavor problem slide a little because of the creamier/less icy texture. The topping bar is basically the same as it is at other locations, and they offer most of the same things other yogurt places offer. They have candies, fruits, syrups, sprinkles, crumbled Oreos, cookie dough, brownie bits, and cheesecake pieces. They also had crumbled cone pieces here that you can add as a topping. I like that I can add just a few cone pieces. Other places offer waffle bowls and large waffle pieces, and I never want that much. This location is pretty cute. Tracy C. posted some nice pictures of the interior. It’s very open and full of light. On the day I visited, the employee also was friendly and attentive. There is no parking lot here, which can be a drawback if you try to go at a time when street parking might be full(e.g., weekday evenings). I went on a Saturday afternoon, however, and parked right in front of the store.

So The Hubby, The Child and I headed down to our neighborhood yogurt shop today to properly celebrate our first warm day of Spring here in STL. Yay, Spring! Yay, yogurt! When we arrived, we discovered that Chill was gone and a new business was in it’s place. Still yogurt. Still with all the same toppings. Everything seemed exactly the same, except for the new paint colors and signage. Turns out they just opened up yesterday. This being a new place, and me being Celiac, I needed to find out about the ingredients. The person behind the counter immediately said«oh, it is all gluten free». I guess it was how quickly she responded, but I was hesitant to believe her. I asked to see an ingredient list. They didn’t have one. But she picked up the phone and called her manager and had me talk to her. The manager was very helpful and assured me that all the flavors, except the custards(which they were still waiting on a GF confirmation) were, in fact, gluten free. Ya! Much happiness and rejoicing commenced. Prices are comparable to what Chill was, but I have to say that the three of us liked the quality of the yogurt better than it’s predecessor. We are so happy to still have a neighborhood yogurt joint and SO happy it was really, really good.
