Stopped in on our way from Seattle to Leavenworth. Had the rib dinner and a slice of banana cream pie for dessert. Food was in line with what I would expect at a family owned diner: good but nothing to write home about. I left pretty satisfied.

If you’re looking for authentic BBQ, keep driving. This is about as authentic as a McRib. They should really think about relabeling themselves as a standard diner and not a BBQ joint. I wouldn’t take as much issue with the fact that they clearly don’t smoke their meats and their sauce is basically ketchup with molasses. We also had a really awkward moment when a worker sassed a couple about using the bathroom. She didn’t make it awkward for us when we came in and used the bathroom first, but the two people of color who wandered in after us were pretty much told they needed to order before using the bathroom. So why two stars? Well, the milkshakes are bomb. They will mix flavors for you(I had a coffee-marshmellow and he had a banana-peanut butter) and they are thick and creamy. Also the log-construction and fireplace make the restaurant feel warm and homey, which I desparately needed before attempting Snolquamie Pass in a snowstorm. If they could chill with the microagression and buy a smoker, I could see recommending this place in the future.

Stop here for the PIE! We had a really great meal — our burgers were big, the meat perfectly cooked and juicy. Decent coffee to go with the DELICIOUS pie that is HOME-BAKED at the restaurant. So hard-to-find home made pie in restaurants anymore. The crust was terrific, flaky and not too thick. We each tried a different kind — apple, chocolate cream and coconut cream — all of the were an «A». The chocolate and coconut creams were not overly sweet and not stiff. Definitely not just pudding poured into a shell. And the slices were very generous. Definitely worth a stop — support a local business that’s clean, friendly staff and good food instead of hitting one of the chains along the way. We could have had fast food up the road for the same price, but this was WAY better.

Great place to stop going to eastern washington on I-90 or coming back. We stopped here just to refuel with our kids on the way back from visiting friends in eastern washington and enjoyed it. Rustic décor, tasty BBQ sandwich. Not gonna blow your socks off in terms of anything new, but it was clean and service was good and price was right.
