LIFE-CHANGINGEXPERIENCE, rich in spiritual nurturing, music, inclusion, diversity, shared work, and humor. A simple wooded setting on the top of a hill with a creek for swimming every day, delicious healthy food, fire circles, and community meeting every day. The heart of the camp is the staff — counselors and older adults who guide the campers in amazing workshops and model a sense of love, creative problem solving, and inclusion that makes each child feel accepted. Families and children from all walks of life are welcome and loved here: children give up the tough acts and roles they may play in school and are overcome by the acceptance and love in this community. Not only did I attend this camp, but my daughter attends for a month every year, and my sister’s three children all have as well. They come home recharged, helpful, and full of ideas and creativity to enter a new school year. The best part of my daughter’s year.
