Great food! Their Kung pao chicken/pork is to kill for! Shifts run tight, not much of a talking bunch of people, but their food speaks for its self. Dinner is little on the pricey side, but well worth if you are in the area. Beats any crappy Chinese buffet outlets in mason city or clear lake area.

Best Chinese in the area hands down. Always hot and fresh! Hot and sour soup= delicious. Great, low priced lunch special too!

We decided to eat dinner at Shao Ting Guo on the first night of our Iowa vacation because we were curious what Chinese food in rural Iowa would taste like. Well the answer is pretty dang good. I had hot and sour soup and garlic chicken. Both were particularly tasty. Christopher had won ton soup and Szechuan pork. His food was equally yummy. My only complaint was that the portions were a bit small for the price, especially the soup. The egg roll was dreadful. Other than that, we will be back on our next adventure into northern Iowa. Oh yes, the restaurant was decorated in very nice Chinese décor, but what gave it the Iowa feel was the big deer head on the wall in the middle of the dining room. It made us feel really on vacation. Three cheers for the boonies.
