This is definitely our new go-to restaurant. Staff is always friendly and food is delicious.

Excellent sushi that is generously sized. We have yet to try the Chinese food. It does look good as delivered to other tables but we can’t get past their great sushi!

When I first saw Golden Ginger Bistro driving by years ago I wasn’t really impressed that they were in an old Maverick gas station building and never had a desire to go there. I broke down and went today and I was super impressed. The service was super fast, the sushi was fresh and delicious, and the price wasn’t bad either. Their 50% off sushi menu has some great choices. My favorite was the Halloween roll. You get a lot for your money and I would recommend this place to anyone. I have been to other local sushi places, but golden ginger bistro really impressed me by their service and their delicious sushi. If you are in the area and love sushi go to Golden Ginger Bistro, you won’t be disappointed.

This is hands down my favorite sushi place! The service is honestly FANTASTIC! We go here enough that they recognize us now! We have tried most of their rolls and have at least liked them all. But most of them we love! We love ordering to go and sitting down to eat this from this place! I wish they would deliver!

I was actually looking for quick luncheon spot near the west side of the base one day, and search came up with Golden Ginger. At first, it seemed just like a typical Chinese-Japanese hybrid joint to me, and my expectation was not very high. The local told me this place used to be a gas station, then retrofitted into a restaurant, but the layout inside was not very awkward at all. First time I was there, they comp me a Seaweed Salad because I looked Asian, and was alone. Another time we came with a group, I had the Tempura Shrimp for appetizer, and it was a bit sad, not fluffy at all. For rolls, I tried Super Spicy, Dynamite, Liz, Mama Mia, and their Chef Special. They were decent in comparison with other places in the area. The super spicy roll was not«super» spicy, just got Sriracha on it instead of the diluted mayo drop on top. The mama mia roll was interesting roll with a pinkish color, even though the cheese was a bit turn off, and it tasted good overall. For their noodle dishes, I tried the Chinese Beef Noodles was surprisingly good, all of the beef stew were nice and tender, and I would say it was better than few of those so-called authentic Chinese restaurants. Another time I had the Niku Udon, and that was just ok with odd slices of meat floating on top with broccoli and udon noodles underneath. Almost felt like a bad translation of Japanese into Chinese. We also tried some Americanized dishes like Chicken Curry and Chicken Fried Rice. They were good enough for my white coworkers. Golden Ginger had been a nice discovery for me, and it was definitely a change for all the crowded restaurants down in Layton area. I would consider them more of a Chinese core restaurant with an attachment of sushi, since their Chinese dishes had been the highlight from my visits there. Service was decent, even though the guys there had their poker faces on most of the time.

Love this place. We go a few times a month. Sushi is delicious, but one of my favorites is the Chinese beef noodle soup, perfect for a chilly day. The bento boxes are large and delicious as well. The service has always been very friendly and attentive. I may go back again today!

Ive been here only twice and have had a good experience both times. I do think its the only sushi place around here and thats the reason why. But I do enjoy the staff here, all are very polite and patient. As for the sushi here it was delicious the portions were amazing and for the price you pay you get your moneys worth. My girlfriend and I were stuffed after 4 rolls and we did come hungry. I highly recommend this restaurant if you are craving some sushi around this area.

Best sushi in the area hands down as well as the best general Asian food in the area. The owner is an incredibly nice guy, he remembers all his customers and takes care of them. He deserves all the business in the world. I bring everyone here I can. Their avacado salad is amazing, all their rolls are great and have fresh ingredients. I’ve ate here here probably 20 times now, both takeout and dine in and have yet to be disappointed.

Very impressed with this sushi! They have some basic rolls for 50% off that range from $ 6.00-$ 7.50, and they were pretty large(8 pieces or so) and high quality in my opinion. We ordered the Vegas, caterpillar, spider, red dragon, and super spicy rolls.

We came in 20 minutes before closing and they were still happy to have us there. The portions were huge and super fresh. Friendly staff and terrify service. Even the 50% off menu was delicious. Would highly recommend this hidden little treasure.

It would be my 4th time trying sushi place in Utah. The price was affordable and we ordered a miso soup and sour soup to start off. We loved sour soup a lot but miso soup was not hot and it was just a little warm temperature. We ordered shrimp tempura roll, golden ginger roll and nikku udon. The rolls were okay. I dont’t actually expect anything spectacular sushi or sushi rolls in Utah. They don’t put ingredients as shown on the menu. There was no salmon inside of the roll and the topping was supposed to be scallop and fish eggs with sauces but there was a bunch of imitated crab meat with a tiny big of scallops and no fish eggs. And the udon. nikku(meet) was pre-grilled and I liked the meat but udon soup wasn’t really udon. I wou uld say it’s more something like Chinese soup(the restaurant is owned by chinese I guess). And the noddle didn’t taste fresh.

I like the bento boxes! That way you can try a few things, get a rounded meal, and the best part is that they are usually Chinese food based for the picky eaters who don’t like sushi. The bentos are also good for kids who won’t eat the roll that comes with it(adult gets it).

Service didn’t improve the second time. Only reason I came back is because the kids wanted Chinese and I was too tired to go farther from home. I realized this time that they serve Escolar as Butterfish. I asked the waitress if the Butterfish was Escolar and she checked with the chef. It is. Escolar is known to cause anal leakage and quality sushi places won’t serve it any longer. Thankfully my kids like Chinese. Go here if you like, just watch the anal leakage.

This restaurant is in a converted convenience store and may not impress you driving by. The food is excellent however. The flavor and consistency is far above average. You won’t be there long before you decide it is a regular stop in your rotation. I’ve been a longtime fan of The Mandarin in Bountiful and while the building/décor here may not be as fancy the food is equal to the challenge. The décor is clean and comfortable if not fancy.

My fiancé and I had the egg drop and the hot & sour soup, I would recommend the hot & sour soup if you like a little kick and something warm and delicious. Entrée i tried was the beef and broccoli lunch combo, I will say the portion size could of fed 2 normal human beings but I’m a fatty so I ate it all. They throw in a lot of beef which is awesome because that is my favorite part. I got the déjà vu sushi roll and I thought it was the bomb. If you are near this place and want to fill up on some good Chinese food or even sushi, I would highly recommend this place.

It’s been mentioned that this location used to be a Maverick gas station at one point. Once inside that becomes a nonissue. Once you are greeted, seated and served you’ll know you made the right decision. The service has been outstanding and the food is far above average. Prices are reasonable and portions are plentiful without looking desperate. We have tried a vast number of items off every section of the menu. We haven’t been disappointed. The red chicken curry is my favorite though. The Thai tea was oh so good. Although it may offend a sushi purest, I thought the Texas roll was outstanding. The place has always been clean, friendly and worth the visit. Also, I ordered take-out and it had the same sense of care in its preparation and it was boxed up well. I would definitely be comfortable taking anyone from any one of my circles here.

We have visited Golden Ginger bistro multiple time at both lunch and dinner and have had excellent service and food every time. The location(previously a convenience store in the middle of a residential area) belies the delicious food and attentive service inside. Our favorites are the Liz and Spicy sushi rolls and their excellent Bento boxes. Their sushi chefs are fast and very good at what they do. I have had sushi at MANY places and their sushi is a fresh and delicious as any high-end sushi restaurant you would find downtown at double the price or more. There can be a wait on weekends now because word of this place is spreading fast. Once you get in, service is excellent and un-intrusive. Your drink always gets filled before it is empty but otherwise, they leave you alone to eat. They serve«golden ginger» like their namesake and low-sodium soy sauce which tastes the same but is much better for your health.
