Our family would not consider a trip to Clearwater Beach to be complete without a meal at the Beachcomber. We have been coming here for many years and the service, the variety and the food are always excellent. The Beachcomber is a great restaurant and is well worth the price.

We had wonderful dinner tonight. First time there husband had seafood platter and I had lobster tails. It was our 55th anniversary and wanted something nice. We were more than pleased with the food and service.

I hosted a «post wedding dinner» here and the only«negative» I have to say is parking is kinda limited(but when your in Clearwater that is kind of the norm so I don’t think I can count that as a negative). Our wedding was a destination wedding and it was chaotic to plan. I called several restaurants and non of them seemed to even be interested in my business. I read several review la online for beachcombers and I decided to give it a try. The lady who helped me plan the dinner was phenomenal. She didn’t pressure me and was very very patient. I had a specific budget I was aiming for and she hit it on the head(it ended it being $ 400 under budget with the options she helped me pick!) they had beach wedding themed menus for us and the wait staff was great. The guy who waited on my table even placed a couple menus aside for out book so they wouldn’t get messed up. We had one issue with a guest or two asking several times for drinks but when you have a party of 35… a few mishaps are to be expected. The good was delicious… no one had any complaints and everyone had a good time. Over all GREAT experience! Thanks!

As a former employee of this restaurant for three years, I’ve seen it all and would never recommend dining here. For starters, the kitchen is a closed one, rightfully so since the things that happen in there are means to shut this restaurant down. Customers should see how the food is prepared. They recycle relish trays, leave food out that should be refrigerated. I can go on, however theres plenty of other places to dine(fine dining) on Clearwater beach — carrettas, sandpearl, opal, backwaters… Dont waste your time or money on this place. The owner is all about the money, as you can tell from previous reviews. Again, I highly recommend NOT going here. It’s unsanitary, smells like old people, and mildew.

We had a business dinner here, food was outstanding and our waitress Jessica did a phenomenal job! I had the blackened grouper and it was some of the best fish I’ve ever had. Thank you for a great dining experience and thank you Jessica for the great service, I hope you win restaurant week!

Two stars because my 89year old mom likes the place. Who cares about a relish tray where God only knows how many people have stuck their utensils. The service is like the food only so so. I can also do without the piano player. This place may have been around for years and years but they are stuck in the 1950s. There are much better places to eat on the beach.

Excellent food, and great service !!! Best scallops I have taste in a while also the Oscar grouper was excellent, Place is not cheap, but it’s worth every penny. Excellent wine and alcohol menu, honestly a great place to celebrate or just to get some fine seafood.

We recently bought a place in Clearwater Beach. A friend from Philly told us we had to go to this place and we did. We sat at the bar and the bartender, Pete, also was from Philly. He as very attentive and gave us lots of good tips about the area while making us great drinks(which are quite large). The fresh fried chicken is a must have here. It is amazing and comes with a salad, mashed potatoes and fresh vegetable and pan gravy. We also had the seafood combo. At Pete’s suggestion, we had it prepared bronzed. It was delicious. There is also a good bread basket. We went back again a few days later, and ate at the bar again. There was a piano player which makes dinner even more pleasant. We will definitely be back on our next visit.

Been coming to Clearwater every other year for Spring training since 2010. If you like top shelf restaurants, that are as good as the prices this is the Landmark Clearwater Beach place. Add to the fine food, and extensive wine list, and extensive Scotch, bourbon and cocktail menu, main area features a live piano player, who plays a great range of standards and takes requests. Service here is always top notch, as was our groups server Jackie. I’d advise making a reservation.

A classy and sophisticated restaurant that has been around since the 1940s. It is perfect for a small celebration or a romantic dinner for two. We dined there recently for our anniversary. They have a voluminous wine list and serve just about any cocktail in existence. The relish dish is a nice touch to the dining experience and is an accompaniment for which Beachcomber is known. I had the Gulf Pompano — it was excellent. It is baked in a paper packet, and cut open in front of you upon serving. Oh, what a delight! Aromatic and succulent, it was absolutely divine. Hubby had the Filet mignon. It was prepared to perfection and was very tender and tasty, as it should be. For dessert, we ordered the Crème Brûlée. Light and creamy with a very delicious flavor. It was a perfect choice to cap off our meal. Bob Heilman’s Beachcomber was a great place to spend our special day. We look forward to dining there again. It’s too nice of a place to wait for the next special occasion. We will return again soon!

Old fashioned Florida restaurant. I had a great salad here with fresh avocado and shrimp salad. Good service and convent location. They also have off street parking which is key in this busy area

Perfect place for a romantic date night near the beach. There was a live piano player and the table was lit by candle light and the overall lighting was low to help make it perfect. The wine menu is VERY extensive. If you are a wine lover you will love the selection. We got a Mai Tai and an Old Fashioned both were delicious. The relish tray was interesting but surprisingly good. We enjoyed the cottage cheese with chives and the corn relish. The cream of onion soup was amazing. Super creamy. We both got shrimp. I got the bronzed shrimp and my husband got sautéed. Both were very good. It was enough food to be satisfied but not so much to feel stuffed. And last but not least, Steve our server was great! He was very attentive even though the place was slammed and even gave us some insider tips about where to eat the next time we visit.

Had an amazing dinner here with Nikki as our server for my brother’s family and mine– sat outdoors in a quiet and pretty area. It was so good we went back two nights later and took out my cousin, her new husband and my parents and had another excellent dinner. Service both times was two thumbs up! The wine list is as big as a blanket so you can cover yourself up and read it at the same time– extensive, thorough, clearly someone is passionate about wine at this place. Prices were right in line with fine dining wines, there’s a markup but nothing out of line(Borsao Garnacha $ 30– i buy it at the liquor store for $ 16– Kim crawford sauv blanc for $ 30ish and normally it’s $ 15 at the grocery) Entrees were ~$ 25 so it’s not a bargain meal but the quality of food plus service made for a great value. Oysters– hubby had two dozen between the two visits and reported in that they were fresh and delish. shrimp rockefeller– baked in mornay sauce– hard to bake shrimp without overcooking it– but they did fine with it salads were generous and traditional caesar, spinach, etc mom had veal and loved it — A look around the table indicated that everyone was happy with their food at both dinners so this place is a success in my mind. Plus, the second night we had 9 people for dinner and the tab was only $ 600 — remarkable– i had expected a grand at least so that was a pleasant surprise on top of an already great find. Wish we lived closer, we would be hanging out here on friday nights regularly. thanks for great memories and lovely meals! And ask for Nikki if you go there, she was a happy and thoughtful server.

We ate here again Jan. 30, after having spent the week in Ft. Myer’s Beach area. While down there we had grouper at 4 different high class restaurants, but once again The Beachcomber’s grouper was the BEST! Everyone in my party of 8 enjoyed their food, and 6 were new customers who live in St. Pete Beach area! Us tourists had to show them the best!

The worse experience I have ever had at any restaurant. Unfortunately I invited another couple to join us for Christmas dinner at Bob Heilman’s Beachcomber Restaurant. I made a 4:30 pm reservation for the 4 of us several weeks before Christmas. We all arrived together at 4 pm as we knew it would be busy. After checking in with the hostess, we were told to wait in the bar, they were indeed running behind and it would probably be around 5 pm before we would be seated. 5 o’clock came and went, we checked with her again and where told it would be 6 pm, 6 pm came and went, and when we asked again we were told«well things happen» and she did not know when our table would be ready. What was the point of making a reservation? We finally left at 6:30, with no dinner. Horrible experience, certainly not a way to spend Christmas. Why do they overbook? All they do is end up with a bunch of unhappy customers. We were certainly not the only ones who left, many others were in the same position as us. Very unprofessional.

Right on the beach, with the touristy Tshirt shops and burger joints, sits this elegant restaurant. With the ambiance of an old south tea room, and adjoining a bar straight out of the 70’s, the dining room boasts elegance, white linen tablecloths and high ceilings with chandeliers. We had the soup and finger sandwiches; the portion was greater than I expected with four different sandwiches. The plate came with a crock of gazpacho soup that had a hint of jalapeño. Delicious! Being so close to the beach, you have to get a ticket to park but they’ll validate it for you. From time to time, you may also see an overserved beach bum or two with their bathing suits on, and not much else, trying to get seated but sadly, one must be fully clothed to eat here. Enjoy!

My friend and I grew tired of sitting and watching tourists, we didn’t want burgers so we decided to look for food. The Beachcomber was across the street, so I pulled up my handy Unilocal app, and checked the reviews. Most were good, so I nodded, this would be a good place to go, even if I was a little daunted by the three dollar signs. Walking in, the strains of piano music filled the air. The large Christmas tree in the cramped foyer glittered brightly and the hostess(and apparent owner) asked which side of the place we’d like to sit on — The lounge side or the restaurant side. I chose the restaurant. We were lead to the dining room, where white linen table cloths and evergreen décor invited us to sit down. Once seated, we were handed two menus and an extensive wine list. This was for the bottled wines, of which there are only just over 8,000.(8000 wines? GOODGOD!) I perused it for a moment, but I’m not a wine drinker so I opted to just look at the food menu. I was rather impressed. There were listings for everything from Surf & Turf, to Farm raised chicken to Chilean sea bass and even frog legs. Everything came with a soup or salad, a veg, a starch and of course everything started with their crudite platter. Let’s be honest, I’ve never been to a place where they bring out a serving tray that has cottage cheese, beets with horseradish, apple butter and corn salsa in it. I found it a bit odd, but hey, it’s a signature thing, I guess. There were also rolls and crackers offered to us with fresh butter, cut from a stick, I’m guessing. The bread was good, but I didn’t indulge in any of the sauces. When the food came out, and it came out rather quickly: It started with a bowl of YUMMY cream of onion soup, and a bowl of Coleslaw — The soup was great, but the slaw was. well, it was too wet. There was far too much mayo on it. I had a bite and returned it right away, I couldn’t eat it at all. The food though, was amazing. My chicken was perfectly fried, lightly crispy with a side of delicious mashed potatoes and Broccoli. My friend’s meal was Chilean Sea bass on Risotto and broccoli, he said it was perfectly done. Over all, this was a nice experience. I would come back. It appears to be the kind or place that takes reservations, though when we went, it accepted walk ups, according to the sign outside.
