I rented a boat here in Feb. 2015. The office staff was unfriendly and not helpful. They seemed to be in a bad mood or maybe they don’t like their jobs. The staff who prepared the boats were much better. I am giving 2 stars because of the poor attitude of the office staff. Otherwise this is a GREAT place to rent a sailboat. There are very few community sailing centers in the U.S. and I wish there were more.

These guys really bummed me out today. I called them to get the low-down on their sailboat rental program because I really wanted to take my wife sailing on our honeymoon. I spoke with their Program Director Rich(Rick?); I’m an experienced sailor and everything seemed perfect. I told him I’d be there in an hour. We made the 45 minute drive up from St. pete’s. When we arrived and asked to rent a boat, we were told that they weren’t renting boats today. We wasted all that time for nothing. I don’t know what changed in the hour since I spoke with them but it really put a damper on the last day of our honeymoon :(

Great place to spend a few hours or a day. Membership is reasonably priced, but this is more of a beach place than a yacht club. Hobie’s, dinghy’s, kayaks, paddle boards… they have it all. Very helpful and friendly staff. Great facility. Perfect for families.

Very cool place, mellow, reggae music atmosphere. $ 425 yearly membership allows you to take out all kinds of boats, kayaks, etc, hammock for their little private beach. Very nice personnel!

I photographed a Wedding reception at this venue… it was the perfect beach atmosphere for this type of event! I would recomend The Sailing Center to anyone who choses to hold their wedding on the beach!

Always wanted learn to Sailed and Windsurf before. Nice facility at great location, warm water, safe lagoon. It is non profit learning center, unlike exclusive yacht clubs. It is very inexpensive, Lots of community sailing professionals, would be difficult to find this ideal place to learn sailing, racing, windsurfing. Some of the world champion came from this lagoon, also Clearwater, FL is the birth place of kids optimist class sailing converted from soapbox go carts 1948!
