I enjoy shopping at Men’s Wearhouse. Unfortunately, on this particular visit I was not pleasure shopping and found the experience to lacking (kind of a mixed bag); I was preparing for a wedding and needed to get something accomplished. So I went in with a suit that I had bought about two years ago to see about getting the pants altered as I had gained a few extra pounds. They offer a life-​time alteration service on items that you buy with them and have them alter. My second option, if they could not alter my current pants, was to find another pair of pants that matched the suit jacket. Again unfortunately I was shopping under a budget and did not have the pleasure of a spending spree.
It was determined that my pants could not be let out as they had only left about a ½ inch of room. Not a big complaint, since they are in the business of selling clothes, but it would have been nice if in conjunction with their life-​time alteration program that they left a little more wiggle room to help out their customers. So we laid out several pairs of pants and I was assisted in matching them to the suit jacket which we got an extremely good match. The price of the pants were approximately $ 80 which considering I was in somewhat of an emergency shopping mode and they would be added to what I could wear I was willing to spend that amount. I tried on the pair and it felt like they needed to go up a size. So instead of suggesting that they get let out the sales representative went back to the racks and presented me with another pair that matched the suit. I tried them on and the seamstress measured for the length. It was not until I got to the cash register that I learned that these pants were approximately $ 50 more. There again shopping in emergency mode I paid but was not overly happy.
Although I should have been more alert and not assumed that the pants were in the same price range, my fault, I believe it is could salesman ship to help your customers out and bring things to their attention.
The rest of the story went as I expected my shopping experience to be. The alterations and pickup were completed accurately and on time.
I have to say that I expected more and actually have experienced way better in previous experiences at this location.
