From the welcome at the door to the farewell this place was super. Started off with the Mt Olympus cocktail, which is a great cocktail to share and was really flavorful. The appetizer platter was also brilliant and really hit the spot. The lamb shank was out of this world and the pastitso was absolutely amazing. Service was brilliant! Highly recommend this place to anyone looking for real Greek food at a reasonable price!

We just finished dinner here and it was amazing! Server was attentive and portions were so big I had to bring most of my dinner home. We had Spanakopita appetizer and I had a gyro platter. My Husband had dolmades. There was not a thing We were disappointed with. The lemon potatoes were Delicious as was the dressing for the Greek salad. This place is well hidden but well worth the drive.

I found a Little Gem tucked away in the corner off Ulmerton Rd called Mythos Greek Tavern. I was more than impressed with the Restaurant. There were some comments on this site stating they expected more of a Formal Dining Experience. If you’ve ever visited Greece, this Little Gem exceeds the expectations. The Restaurant reminds me of the little Café all over Europe. The Staff were excellent and the food was Awesome. I will definitely be back! If you get a chance check it out, do so, but if you come in thinking its Formal you’ll be a little disappointed with it, but the restaurant exceeds all other expectations!

First of all, that whipped feta is the shit. I absolutely could not stop eating the complimentary pita because I just wanted to keep dipping it in that feta. I absolutely loved the dressing that came with the side salad. I don’t generally go crazy with dressing, but I lathered everything in it just to have that saucy goodness in my mouth.(That’s what she said.) I had a gyro sandwich(pita bread of course). That meat was so tender and tantalizing. I was very, very happy with my lunch here. The location is sort of hidden, but beautiful. The staff was nice. And the meal was insanely affordable.

I used to go here often many years ago when It was known as acropolis and always loved going here on the weekends for live music and belly dancing. My friends and I got a groupon for dinner last week so we decided to stop by and check it out We went on a Thursday around 6 and it was pretty slow but luckily the server was fairly attendant. The bread and feta spread was that we were served upon arrival was absolutely delicious, could eat it every day. We also ordered the calamari app which was fine but had a lot of the«leg» pieces in it which was kind of gross and I avoided those pieces. I ordered the spinach pie and Greek salad for dinner. The salad dressing was some type of berry vinaigrette, so not like a traditional Greek dressing, but it was really delicious. I was slightly disappointed because there was no potato salad in the bottom. The spinach pie was crispy and fresh. My friend ordered the combo with pastitsio moussaka and lamb leg, which was a large portion and she enjoyed it. We also ordered vanilla and chocolate baklava cheesecake along with a slice of strawberry cake. All of them were just«ok» but did not seem like they were made in the restaurant, probably pre made and frozen I will go back again if they have another groupon and would also like to check it out on a weekend evening

This is an «off-the-beaten-path» location in an office park area with some good Greek food. The bread and spread they start you off with is absolutely delicious. We’ve had combo plates on our jaunts here which have included leg of lamb, pasticio, mousaka, dolmades, chicken and pork skewers. The meats have been tender and flavorful. The mousaka and pasticio have been moist, melt-in-your-mouth good. The place has been nearly empty when we’ve come, but I attribute that to the off-times that we try to go and the OTBP location mentioned above. The quality of food here warrants bigger crowds… I wonder what their nighttime crowds are like. Service has been wonderful, but I would caution you to check your bills carefully. We’ve gone with Groupons and they have tried twice to overcharge us. It’s easy to overlook when you’re with a group of 4 and everyone’s had a martini or two.

A wonderful lunch This is a business lunch with one of the party members having a coupon for $ 25. We arrived on a Thursday around noon the establishment was mildly crowded the weather was nice so we decided to eat on the patio. They have several wrought-iron tables outside that are situated pond side with umbrellas. It’s quite a nice view overlooking the marsh and pond. Services run in pairs with a primary server and a secondary bus/food runner who brought us a basket of pita bread served with a side of tzatziki and herb oil. I was particularly impressed with the fact that the pita was not only just warm but also had a bit of crispness to it, a very nice start. This establishment serves Pepsi products so I ordered a Mountain Dew and we had water and a diet Pepsi round out our drinks. Our server was a quite pleasant young lady who unfortunately did not give us her name. For entrées we ordered the Chicken Rhodes which is described as medallions of chicken breast sautéed with spinach, artichokes, onions, green peppers and served over rice for $ 11.99. It is also accompanied by either a Greek salad or a cup of soup. My coworker ordered the Greek salad to accompany his meal. Next was the Spanakopita Platter which is described as a homemade spinach pie with that and herb served with a side Greek salad for $ 10.99, to which, my coworker added a cup of soup. I ordered the Chicken Souvlaki Platter, which is described as marinated chicken breast skewered and char-grilled served openface on a pita with tomato and onion with a side Greek salad and fries $ 10.99. After a short time of enjoying our warm pita bread we were asked if we would like another basket and we accepted. Another short time passed and we were brought the side salads and a cup of soup. Salads are served slightly nontraditional in a large bowl with assorted mixed greens, a wedge of feta cheese is situated on top, with accompanying onions, green peppers and kalamata olives rounding it off. The dressing is also nontraditional, served as a creamy vinaigrette with hints of citrus. I found it to be refreshing and delightful minus the fact that you had to do quite a bit of cutting and mixing before eating. The lemon/chicken, rice soup was found to be good as well with just the right amount of lemon. I tasted a bit and found it to be fairly decent but not exceptional. When our entrées arrived, I was amazed at how large my platter was. It was served with 4 skewers of chicken; a very large salad served the same way as the other side salad, four large wedges of pita bread, a small plastic ramekin with tzatziki sauce, and one with the citrus creamy vinaigrette. There was also a side six-inch plate with French fries and a ramekin of ketchup accompanying them. The Chicken Rhodes was served in a very large bowl with large chunks of chicken present. The Spanakopita Platter looked lovely with a perfectly prepared spinach pie that was flaky and crisp. Overall this restaurant rates relatively high with the small exception of slightly elevated pricing offset by beautifully prepared food being the only negative. For lunch if these entrées were reduced in size slightly with a slightly reduced price this place or if the entrées were perhaps offered in a small/large variety, this restaurant would be perfect for that occasion. It was not however, such a large detraction that I wouldn’t return for another meal. Given the friendly service and pleasant view it was a welcome distraction from work. Expect to see a review of this place for dinner sometime in the future.

This is another fine myth I’ve got myself into. It was a quiet weekday night at this Greek restaurant situated in a business complex off of Ulmerton. Hoping my trusty Unilocal app wouldn’t mythlead me, I decided to give it a go. The bread they served had a nice herb taste — with or without the accompanying feta spread. The Greek salad I had was quite flavorful. And the tang of the big hunks of feta was appreciated. The Makedoniko was good. The mix of sausage, chicken, and shrimp was tasty. The shrimp were tender. The tomato sauce was a nice flavor that blended well with the rice and peppers. The staff here was very polite and professional. The service was prompt and helpful. The food was served fresh. They have a nice dining room with a group of windows overlooking a pond. An adjacent patio awaits the warmer weather. So, if you’re in Tampa don’t myth this hidden gem. It would be a mythtake not to eat here.

If you enjoy dry, chewy, cardboard chicken with no flavor try Korfu Chicken at Mythos Taverna with amazing service. Honestly I have had some of the worst service I have ever had here. The food was terrible and the waitress was ridiculing me because I requested any type of sauce to mask this cardboard chicken. The only thing that nets this 1 star is that it has a nice view, but with bad service and below subpar food stay very clear of this place.

The food did not taste fresh or authentic. I’m Greek and maybe my mom cooks differently but the moussaka was impossible to eat, to sweet. Dolmades were stale and had a weird coating. The meat was also dry, except the lamb. All of us that went were disappointed. The waiter was nice but even thought we wanted to stay longer he rushed us and got boxes and made us ready to leave, even thought 80% of the place was empty. I’m sorry but a belly dancer can’t be an excuse for stale and unauthentic food. Unfortunately never going again.

Time to update my review. I love mytho’s! Dimitri, the owner, is such a nice hard working man I really enjoy supporting his business. The food here is delicious. From the salmon salad to the gyro platter to the delicious fries(I know they’re just fries but they are so good here) everything is fresh and delicious. Hubby is absolutely hooked on the octopus. The lemon rice soup here is the best around(no weird bits of meat here!) Every now and then Dimitri will whip up a surprise special for the night and it’s gobbled up with no qualms. Lucky for me I work nearby so I get to go quite often. You never know what you’ll find, sometimes a big party place, sometimes a nice intimate dinner, other times just happy hour guests. The new desserts are delicious too if you have the calories to spare.

Had a Groupon, so decided to take my girlfriend here. I’m a big fan of Greek food so I was very excited. This place is tiny and out of the way, hidden on the ground floor of an office building. I’m sure they rely on the employees for business, hence the Groupon. We went on a Thursday around 4:30 pm. The place was absolutely dead, but our waitress was incredibly nice and hospitable. The bread and spread is to die for and, what’s more, it’s complimentary at dinner time. I ordered a soda that was clearly from the bottom of the fountain, but our waitress recognized the off color immediately and replaced it. The second one wasn’t all that good either, so maybe avoid fountain drinks. For dinner, she had the chicken kebob and I had the shrimp pasalimani. Both of our dinners were hot, fresh and tasty. Unfortunately I’m an unpaid intern right now, so I don’t think a return to Mythos is in my future without a Groupon. That being said, I’d recommend it to anyone looking for great Greek food and attentive service.

4 stars? Really? VERY disappointed with the food and service. Arrived for early meal at 5pm on Friday. The bread and whipped Feta spread brought to the table was AWESOME. Then it’s all downhill from there. We ordered the Gyro salad and Meat Lovers Platter, The salad was ok. nothing special, gyro meat was dry and cold, typical lettuce, olives, potato salad with dressing served on the side. The meatlovers platter was a huge disappointment. The sausage had an off taste(too much cumin? I don’t know) the kebobs were dry and cold and the«lamb» was more like mutton, VERYVERY gamey and VERYVERY dry. And I’m love me some lamb. but not this gamey stuff. Seemed like everything was dried out and tasted off. Our server was not very attentive and took forever to bring us our check. I will not be returning. My search for an awesome Greek restaurant in St. Pete, Clearwater area continues.

Entrance is small. It’s hidden behind this little road where office buildings are. There’s a bar behind the restaurant though where they have happy hour(there were a lot I old folks the night I went, not sure if it’s a regular thing) I’m not an expert on Greek food but the food here made my taste buds happy. Octopus appetizer is good, I love giant octopus legs! It wasn’t crunchy though like I wished it could be. other than that, it tasted pretty good. Lamp chops are the best! So soft and juicy and very well made! The beef shish kabob with mushrooms was also good: the rice was very tasty. My over all experience would be between a 3.5−4 star… So I gave it a 4 just cause the waiters were attentive.

As you can see by the number of check-ins I have here I like Mythos a lot. The atmosphere is great here with very nice views of the water. You pretty much can’t go wrong with anything whether you’re here for lunch or dinner. During the week for lunch it’s always packed but for dinner, you might be one if the few people there. Don’t become discouraged from eating here if it’s crowded. Trust me, you won’t be disappointed. The whipped feta cheese spread and/or hummus is great for an appetizer. For lunch, I recommend the Korfu Chicken sandwich. Don’t forget dessert! They have a lot to choose from. I usually pick the chocolate baklava cheesecake.

Went here on a groupon Place has both indoor and outdoor seating. Nicely decorated a more higher end feel kind of place. Full bar. Service was excellent Food was very good, but you could tell alot of the dishes we ordered were warmed up and made the day before or days ago. But they all tasted good and no one got sick. We would go back !

This place is now called Mythos Greek Taverna, not Acropolis. We went on a Friday night and it was dead. Only one of four tables in the place. It is a nice place tucked away in the office building next door to the old Acropolis night club in Icot center. Menu was pretty traditional Greek food. First off, I ordered a «Greek Isles» drink from the bar. This was supposed to be one of their signature drinks. They were out of one of the Blue Curaçao for the drink. Ok… so they made it with some Melon liquor. not bad. The cheese spread they served, Tyroslalata, before the meal was great. We actually ordered more for a charge. Only thing was it was supposed to come with pita bread and it was served with a loaf of bread drizzled with EVOO. Ok, but would rather have had the pita. We also ordered a cup of the chicken and rice soup. Ok, every other Greek restaurant I have been to always has this soup as Chicken Orzo soup. It was good, but it tasted like they put an entire lemon orchard in the soup. More like chicken flavored lemon soup. I had the leg of lamb and my wife had a the Chicken Rhodes. Originally my wife ordered the Greek style Steak. Wouldn’t you know it they didn’t have any steak. Claiming their supplier delivered the wrong cut of steak and they had to send it back. Leaving them with no steak. The lamb was ok. It tasted as if it was reheated and they had no mint jelly to go with it. When I asked, the server said she had only been there for two weeks and didn’t think they had any. I heard her ask the owner who immediately was insulted apparently that I asked for the mint jelly. My wife’s meal was so lemony she couldn’t eat all of it. Over kill on the lemon didn’t stop there. My meal was served with lemon potatoes. I have never in my life heard of this and I have been to my share of Greek restaurants. It killed the flavor of the gammy lamb, but the roasted veggies served with my dish tasted better then they looked. Let’s just say the veggies looked horribly over cooked and like a little pile of black and brown grossness, but it tasted ok. To finish off the meal, we ordered a slice of the baklava cheese cake to split. Now I love baklava and I love cheese cake so these two combined should be out of this world. It was good, but that darn lemon in the cheese cake was over the top. I honestly think we got our weeks worth of vitamin C in that one meal with all of the lemon in everything. As for the belly dancer… we were there from 7:30pm to about 9pm on a Friday night. The dancer never danced. She was apparently too shy to dance for just the three tables in the place. So we never got the entertainment as was advertised on the website( ). Overall, it was an ok meal and experience. We had a gift card from so we automatically had to give 18% tip. I think we might go back to give them a second try, but it may be a while. I can’t see this place lasting too long with such a low turn out for a Friday night and little to no advertising and they are either out of or don’t serve many of the main ingredients for their dishes as they try to cover up the flavors with so much lemon.
