SEC Inspection Services

I have recommended SEC Inspection Services to many of my clients. They are very thorough and understand many things that other inspection companies do not. They teach CE courses to insurance agents to inform them of the latest rules and regulations. I will continue to refer them!

My realtor recommended this inspection company, but when I received the contract they wanted me to sign, it said I would agree to hold harmless and indemnify my realtor from any negligence THEY caused. What??? The contract also limited any liability for their negligence to the cost of the inspection. So if they completely failed to identify a huge expensive item during their inspection, like asbestos, and I bought the property and ended up having to pay huge $$$ for a repair, I could not sue them for their professional oversight. So what then is the point of getting an inspection? I think this is an operation that caters to realtors. They also kept trying to upsell items that I clearly did not need, like a 4 point inspection (your insurance company usually pays for that). When I complained about the contract, they said they would agree to remove the problem language, but it was too late for me and I went with another company. They said they had to include the language «for insurance,» but that is like a doctor saying he has to limit his liability to the cost of the examination «for insurance.» Not a good business practice in my opinion.

We had Danny come out for our inspection. We had a 4 point inspection, wind mitigation and termite inspection. I would recommend him to anyone as the report was very thorough and helped us to get the major issues with the house repaired by the owner prior to closing. SEC Inspection Services did an inspection for me. As a result they saved me more than $ 600 on my insurance each year AND I received a $ 300 check the day before Christmas. Timing was perfect. They did the inspection and handled all the paperwork directly with my insurance company and within a few weeks I had a check in the mail. I would highly recommend getting an inspection to make sure you are covered properly before buying a home or to see if you qualify for discounts on your current insurance.
