UPDATE8÷20÷14: Avi the owner contacted us personally and offered a full refund of the $ 150 fee we paid. Avi apologized for the misunderstanding and advises that it was an error on their part to have charged us for what turned out to be an estimate, not a full inspection. Avi advises that Switch’s estimates are always at no charge. My original rating was a 1, and while I still cannot attest to their actual work I am updating my rating to a 3 based on Avi’s integrity alone. ORIGINALREVIEW8÷18÷14: I’m feeling pretty frustrated with this company’s customer service and practices. Paid $ 150 for an electrical inspection/estimate on a home we are getting ready to purchase. The technician onsite said he found several things that were«not within code» or «downright illegal» and it would have been nice to have had this in writing to help us negotiate with our seller. Even the estimate is vague with basically just prices, no mention of the specifics of what needs to be done and no mention of the safety/code issues. Unfortunately after several days we had to move forward without a written inspection and without being able to ask for any specific repairs. This was not a typical service call where you pay for them to come out and then the amount for the call is credited toward the work. That would have been one thing. But this was supposed to have been an INSPECTION. Sorry but we would never pay someone simply for the privilege of trying to earn our business. Based on my conversation with the owner this was to have been(1) an inspection and(2) an estimate… the estimate to be provided secondarily IF they found that additional work was required.
