Travelodge Beach View Clearwater

I give 3 stars because this place is literally steps away from the beach and the price is very inexpensive.
The front desk lady was very nice, gave us some info on things around town.
Our room was fine based on the price we paid. Of course it was a little dated but you get what you pay for. Everything was clean but the a/​c didn’t seem to cool down the room until late at night. The room we stayed in had a double door that connected to the other room, (in case you rent 2 rooms for multiple people, it’s locked on both sides of course). You don’t see that often.
Our neighbors were so loud!!! It sounded like they were running a daycare out of their room until 11pm. If I was on a business trip I wouldn’t be too happy but lucky for me it was just for pleasure. I would probably stay here again because of the price.

Please note that the four stars is mainly for the location considering the price. You are directly across the street from the public beach, and this hotel is charges WAY less than many others in the area.
Why, you ask? Well, it’s old. It’s not glamorous. It’s a bit run down. But, it’s clean and each room has a small stove, mini-​fridge, kitchen sink, plus plates, glasses, and silverware. The room I stayed in had two double queen beds, both of which seemed clean and free of pests. The bathroom is tiny, but sufficient.
For $ 75, I’d definitely stay here again — check ahead of time or online, too, as you may be able to get a much better rate. $ 75 is what we were charged for walking in and reserving the day we arrived in town.

Excellent customer service! We stayed at the travelodge during the memorial day weekend. We had no reservation, but were super lucky to find a room during that weekend.
PROS:
— location, location, location! Its right in front of the best, next to McDonalds and within a short walk to amazing restaurants.
— Clean rooms. When first entered the rooms, you can see that the house keepers do a great job at cleaning. It smelled very clean and everything was very neat. Almost like a real 5* hotel!
— Price. For the location, i thought the $ 100 per night was pretty cheap.
CONS
— THe hotel is outdated. It definitely needs some upgrades and fix ups on the outside of the building. The hallways were dirty and the elevator was tiny. But i honestly didn’t care, as long as my room was clean.
Overall, i would definitely recommend travelodge. Just make sure you make a reservation in advance, maybe you can even get a cheaper price if

After long wait, we get to our room and it’s not the newest or cleanest place, but it worked. It had a stove, sink, fridge. Large room and a great location. I would stay here again.

came from chicago to clearwater beach for my one yr anniversary. Don’t know why this hotel got many negative reviews. Sure, it’s not the Hilton or Sheraton, but we didn’t spend most our time in the hotel, & if you do while @clearwater beach, there’s something wrong w/​you anyhow. Checking in was fast &the front desk gentleman &manager were very very nice. The room was clean. The doors &elevator need fixing. But, no complaints otherwise. The pool was nice &clean…

Old Hotel with alot of poor repairs done. Our room had active mice/​rats running in the walls — thank goodness they couldn’t get into the rooms.
Overall the room was clean although needing upgrading pretty soon. I have stayed there 2x before but accept that it’s a cheap place to stay but kind of disappointing considering the area is supposed to be a resort area.
This is an OK place to stay.
Limited internet access — due to it being part of the area wide free WiFi and is dependent on the location of where you have your laptop is — better on the street, but apparently OK in some of the rooms. But being a freebie, the network will lock you out every 20−30mins and you have to go through the whole log-​in system again. If you come here to get away and do some work, this can be pretty annoying
