We are driving from Ft. Worth to San Antonio and looked on Unilocal for a restaurant in Cleburne. Heroes popped up first with a 4+ rating so we went. Good choice. It’s in the heart of historic Cleburne in a shopping arcade. There was a steady stream of people at lunch on Monday. A good sign. We waited in line to order and were greeted so warmly by Amy. She was so nice and helpful with the menu suggestions. I ordered a half cup of tortilla soup and the daily burger basket meal which is a burger, fries, and drink for under $ 7.00. My husband got the same except he got the baked potato soup. Oh my my, the soup was spiced to perfection, loaded with beans, chicken, and topped with cheese and crunchy tortilla strips. Amy brought our soup first. She said the owners make everything from scratch. Another super nice employee, Logan, brought out our giant burgers soon after. The lettuce was fresh and crispy, and the tomatoes looked home grown. The bun was obviously homemade as it was so soft, light, and buttery! Our eyes were bigger than our stomachs because we could only eat half of our burgers and a few fries. Amy brought us a side of their homemade ranch to dip our fries in. Sooo good! In hindsight, we should have shared a burger. We got a piece of buttermilk pie to go. It looks good but it will have to wait til much later!

Tasty burgers, that’s for sure! From being greeted at the ordering counter to the last bite it was a most pleasurable experience. I had the Nacho Average Cheeseburger and Hubby had BBQ Bacon burger. Onion rings and chili cheese fries for sides. The Nacho burger was awesome, juicy, cheesy and flavorful. Hubby stated ‘this is a good burger’, and he is a picky eater. Highly recommended!

Disclaimer: I know the owner. Nice little sandwich shop in the historic refurbished Wright Building in downtown Cleburne. A few tables around the boutique shops in an mall setting. The restoration is beautiful. Had the turkey bacon panini with homemade chips. Very good. Free refills on the drinks.

I found this place to b a tad bland. The food was good but not as amazing as the other comments have suggested. I will go back and try it again for the sake of convenience while I’m in cleburne.

The queso burger was recommended by the wait staff and it was very tasty. The wait for our food was a little lengthy but the burgers did not disappoint. Would definitely stop by again.

Amazing dinner for these out of town Cali folks! The brisket sandwich was delicious and tasted very flavorful! I also highly recommend the fried pickles! Just enough batter on them to not over power the pickle flavor. We also tried the Frito Loco. such a fun delicious twist on nachos. the meat on them was perfect! I highly recommend this place, especially for out of towners!

Tried the burgers today for the 1st time. Everyone talks about how great they are… they are good… everyone raves about their buns, we thought they were like the ones at D’s in Joshua which I like alot too, but both buns are too sweet. I am a hamburger purist… I LOVE really great meat on a good bun… not a fan of the sweet bun of either Heroes or D’s wish they gave the option of their bun or regular buns. If they do they don’t tell you… ½ # burger with fries at D’s is $ 5.99 .½ # burger at Heroes with fries $ 6.99… Wish D’s had the homemade potato chips.

A nice find in downtown Cleburne, this lunch spot is worth your time and effort. Thanks Unilocalers’ for turning me on to this place. Heroes has an exceptional menu of salads, sandwiches and burgers, served with a variety of accompaniments’. The restaurant is inside an old, historic building with several eclectic shops selling unique items. It was fun to look through them while we waited for our food. Everything we tried was hot and flavorful — no store bought, cheap ingredients in here. What a nice diversion and find in Cleburne. Thanks Heroes!!!

The food was really good and the atmosphere was just perfect for a hot spring day. Tippy and Michael could not have been more efficient. We will stop here again when we are traveling through Cleburne.

Cute atmosphere(it’s located inside an old hotel) but I had a issue with the service and food. When I got to the counter to order, the cashier and another employee were chit chatting. They both looked at me a couple times during their conversation and decided to let me wait until they were done talking. I am frustrated now. I order the Chicken Pesto sandwich which was on special. I do not recommend this sandwich. It is a tough chicken breast served on a hamburger bun with tons of pesto sauce and melted cheese. The chicken is hard to bite into and does not tear apart easily. It tastes like it was frozen, not fresh. I chose this restaurant based on other Unilocal reviews.

Food is delish. I did request no tomatoes & they put it on anyways. You may want to call in your order to save time.

Outstanding burger. Located in a 112 year old building. This place has great atmosphere and food. Had to make an edit. I fed 3 kids and 2 adults for less that $ 40. Can’t beat that.

I loved how the restaurant was inside in the middle of some cool shops. BUTITWASTHEBURGER that had me at «hello»! One of the BEST hamburgers I have ever had, and the french fries were crispy on the outside with some sort of amazing seasoning and if I were able, I would have ordered that meal TWICE. Sooooooooo good. 5 stars and 2 thumbs up, big time!

Perfect atmosphere and perfect food! Love this little hidden gem! I had the turkey bacon panini and chili cheese fries for fun. Both were phenomenal. Highly recommend this to any and all in the Johnson County area.

Went here today with my mom. It’s a neat little place. It was a hotel, and the building still has the high tin-paneled ceilings. The café is where the hotel front desk was, and they made good use of the space. I had some coffee and a slice of buttermilk pie, and the pie was wonderful. It was definitely homemade, not store bought.

I am in the Dallas area working with one of our valued reps making sales calls. We were starving after a busy morning of wheeling and dealing and started looking for a place to grab a bite. It was a little after 2:00pm and we were in the town of Cleburne and I did a quick Unilocal search and found Heroes Café. This was a fantastic discovery! The curbside appeal was very deceptive. It is much, much cuter and bigger than it appears from Main Street. The gals working the restaurant congregating at the counter. Yes, I said«gals»! I’m in Texas so I can say gals. The owner said that the restaurant closes at 2:00 and that they were shutting down. She immediately turned everything back on so that we could have lunch to our good fortune. We both had the best Blue Cheese Burgers that we have ever had. I should also mention the Deep Fried Pickles. AMAZEBALLS! It is worth the drive!
