I’m one and done with Leach Bros. My trip got off to a bad start when the first thing I see is a little critter scurry across the floor and hide under the counter. A little mortified but not wanting to just walk out, I tried to put it out of my mind and I ordered. Nice friendly service from the lady behind the counter, things were looking up. Until I looked down and my little friend crawled back out to make another appearance. Ugh. As for the food,(yes, I stayed to eat). It was not good. The brisket was gray and chewy with no smoke ring, the sausage was the highlight of the meal, it was the only thing I ate and enjoyed. Most of my meal ended up in the garbage. Seriously, if you run a restaurant, cleanliness is job number one. If you can’t handle that, don’t open your doors to the public. Oh, I almost forgot about the live chickens roaming around outside the door. They were peeking through the glass watching me eat. We all know how clean chickens are! At least they were outside. Overall a horrible experience, I won’t be back. At least until they fumigate and serve better food. No, who am I kidding, even then I’m out.

We’ve gone past this place for years, but I don’t remember us ever actually stopping there to eat. After reading the reviews here(and wanting to try something different), we dropped by last week. And I … liked it! When I got my chopped beef sandwich, I looked at it and thought, ‘sheesh, this is so greasy, it’s going to wreck all kinds of damage on my stomach’. But the odd thing is, it wasn’t greasy so much as overly moist. Heck, even the gristle was good! My only complaint was that the sauce wasn’t more evenly distributed on it; so the other day when we returned, Mrs. Lady gave us a side of barbeque sauce with it, as well. I got the Brown Bag Special with a chopped beef sandwich(without the pickles and onions because … you know… blech!), 12 oz. can of Coke with cup of ice and a 1 ¾ oz. bag of Nacho Cheese Doritos. Could’ve gotten the glass of tea with free refills… but I’ve never been much of a tea sipper. They also have stuffed baked potatoes, which I haven’t tried because… it’s not a chopped beef or pulled pork sammich. They had quite a few other things, but as I’ve been pretty narrow minded when I’ve gone in there, I order the chopped beef sammich and the rest of my thought processes shut down. … It’s a guy thing. :)

Small time operation. Hardy portions. The BBQ sauce didn’t wow me, but it’s a fine break from the road and the ppl are friendly. They charged a fair price for a good meal. What else can I say? I’d probably stop back in next time I’m in Cleburne

got the sliced brisket sammy and a side of potato salad, total was like $ 6. the food was average, nothing special. but it’s a little mom and pop joint so you got to support it.
