Bamboo Fusion

I went here the other night with my 2 sisters for dinner. Here’s my break down of the place:
Décor: 1.5 stars: this place needs an extreme makeover. The outside sign is what you would expect from a Chinese takeout place in the city. The booth we sat at was warn down in several places, older tables, and dingy carpet. Was a bit of a pizza place feel. The single bathroom apparently was having issues so we ended up having to use the mens room– also in need of a makeover. It wasnt dirty or anything, but do not go here for a fancy dinner!
Pricing: 3 stars average all around for what you get
Staff: 3 stars: big issue here was they didn’t speak English very well and my sister has dietary restrictions due to her chrones– the order all ended up being right, but it was a bit of a struggle. I also asked for something on the side and he kept repeating back «no bean sprouts» and it just wasn’t getting across so I had him leave it. I have never ordered take out here but there was someone having an issue at the front with something being wrong while we were dining, which didn’t surprise me.
Sushi: 3.5 stars it was decent, nothing blew me away, was worthy of taking home to eat leftovers
Pad thai: 4 stars. To me, I would return for this. The pricing was fair and the serving size was HUGE. I eat a lot but ended up barely making a dent on my plate sharing it with my sister, along with a few rolls.

I’ve never had a problem with the food or even the service. The wait staff are polite and accommodating. However, the last time I went there, I used the bathroom and could not believe how filthy it was. I’m not talking about someone just left it messy. I’m taking about ground in greasy dirt on he door and walls and floor as though it hasn’t been cleaned in a VERY, VERY LONG TIME.
If there is any truth to «you can tell the cleanliness of the kitchen, by that of the restroom», I don’t want to go back.

I’m Flabbergasted by how many good reviews this place has received, I’m Inclined to think the restaurant has impostors posting good reviews to increase business. I’ll start with the good. The restaurant at least acted to be concerned with my dismay. However, they did not to compensate or rectify the situation. I ordered a shrimp tempura roll that came with left over baby shrimps, not a true tempura. They claimed their Micheal is made with real crab but it definitely came with imitation crabmeat. In addition the rolls were very sloppily made and tasted awful. I have had sushi throughout the south jersey area and this is by far the worst food I’ve had to date. Don’t walk, run from this place.

Me, my family and boyfriend are regulars. I love their food specially their sushi! It’s so good! Never had any complaints or concerns. I’ll recommend this place to anyone.

I was once a loyal customer because the food is pretty good for the area. I can’t recommend this place because of the price of the food & the customer service. The one & only male waiter is very intrusive and disrespectful. Save yourself the headache and the $$.

I wanted to like this place because of all the good reviews but the Chinese food was just… meh. The general chicken was not true general chicken sauce it was kinda like orange chicken with a little spice thrown in. The fried rice was was unfavorful and like plain fluffy rice with vegetables not really fried. The wonton soup was very bland! How can you screw that up? It just seamed half-​a** and no one in my family felt it warrants a second chance! BHowever if those aren’t your items of choice, than you might be alright. The food was delivered quickly and hot. The sushi was the only thing that saved this review from two stars … and not because it was amazing, but simply fresh tasting and flavorful. It was not the best I’ve ever had but probably the best that could be expected for NJ sushi. (Sorry I’m from California … a sushi lover’s heaven!) I think I can warrant giving a bad review considering I spent $ 80 on Chinese delivery and tried many items on the menu… none of which impressed us. No, I wasn’t feeding an army just a family of 4. Lol. I was just really hungry and expected to be impressed by everything Unilocalers raved about. Hopefully it was just a bad night and I’m the only one this disappointed. To be fair I would come bad JUST for the convenience of decent sushi 5 minutes from my house… but since I’m the only one that likes sushi the order won’t be nearly to $ 80 status.

Shrimp w/​walnut FANTASTIC… everything else was great too… this will be our new go to Chinese restaurant since our move to Clementon…& delivery was less than a half hour from the time we called to having it in front of us… highly recommend…

Extremely yummy sushi, really fresh, so good. Only downside is delivery took almost an hour. Was worth the wait.

The best app in the world is Grub Hub. I love using it to order delivery. New Bamboo Fusion is one of the places I often get delivery from. Not only is their food above average, but its also wonderful to be able to order the full gamut of ‘Asian’ cusine.
That being said, today is the first time I’ve encountered a problem. Tips for delivery are not mandatory and it is extremely presumptious for the delivery person to look at the receipt and actually say, «You didn’t include a tip?» I usually have a cash tip ready by the door, but in this case I did not. I asked the delivery woman to stand by for a moment while I retieved my cash. However, I was a little annoyed at the presumption.
I’ll order from New Bamboo Fusion in the future… but I promise not to hold my tongue if I encounter the same kind of presumption again.

Never knew about this place. Found it on Unilocal and decided to try it. Nevermind the tacky décor and the disheveled furniture. The food is good and that is all that matters to me. I got a spring roll, veggie fried rice and we also ordered the sashimi sampler. It was huge! Huge chunks of fish too. Now some of them were still somewhat frozen but that didn’t stop my bf from eating it. He also loved the miso soup. And he ordered the Tom yum soup to go.

Very nice people, very clean! Love the California roll and the Hong Kong Wonton Soup is awesome! Cant stop eating there!

I’m truly confused by the stellar reviews for the sushi at this place. Where are these reviews coming from? People who have never had sushi anywhere else before? I tried this place and the sushi was disgusting. I tried the Spicy Tuna roll and it tasted like they took canned tuna fish and added spicy mayo to it, instead of using fresh tuna. There are too many Sushi places in South Jersey now to settle for this place’s definition of Sushi. Trust me, you can find 100x better sushi at other places.

Bamboo Fusion is one of my favorite places for Americanized Chinese food and simple sushi. The red curry is still one of my favorites. It is perfectly spiced, with plenty of vegetables and large shrimp. Their spicy tuna roll is my hands down favorite, I would also recommend the banana and chicken tempora roll, the NY roll, and the salmon skin roll (try a hand roll if you prefer less rice in your sushi).

The service is excellent. Friendly wait staff will remember you quickly, offer free appetizers at times, and is always looking to make your meal a little better.
Prices are reasonable, food is prepared quickly.

My sister’s a regular here, and when we decided to have a big raucous family dinner, she recommended this place. So the 8 of us trooped in and we probably drove the poor waiter crazy with all our different orders, but since the owners knew my sister as a regular, they tried very hard to please us.
The complimentary fried wontons they give you as a starter were DELISH. We ate all 3 dishes they left on our table (we were a starving bunch) and asked for more. I asked for the won ton soup, which was very flavorful. My brother loved the hot and sour soup. Everything else that we ordered was terrific, and believe me, I’m not a fan of Chinese food. I was pretty impressed. Final bill came out to less than $ 15 a person — pretty good considering how much we stuffed our faces. We tipped generously for being so good with the overall service.
Next time I’m in Jersey, I’m coming back!

Visiting the area and just happened to pop in for lunch. We were not disappointed! It felt like one of those hidden treasures only locals know about. The service was great, very friendly and prompt. Sushi was awesome! They even made a special roll just for me. Soup was great, my friend had the chicken and broccoli with fried rice, very generous portion, she barely made a dent in it. Prices were very reasonable. Will definitely go back when we’re in the area again!

I normally don’t like it when my order gets messed up… but when they doubled one of my items, I gladly paid for it! This is by far the best Chinese food in the area, and my wife likes the sushi too. The kids love the General Tso chicken and I tend to try a little bit of everything. You can’t go wrong here!

I went here February 16 and order a shrimp tempura and crabmeat hand roll. When I tasted the first I realized it tasted funny but I decided to keep eating it. The I finished. It wasn’t even 5 seconds after I ate my last piece and I was hovered over my toilet. The crab meat must have been bad, but I will never eat sushi from here again! If I could give no stars I would!!!

This is my favorite Japanese (it’s Chinese and Thai too) restaurant. Their sushi is very fresh and doesn’t have too much rice like some places that skimp on the good stuff. I LOVE their Boston Roll — very light w/​lettuce and a dab of spicy mayo. Their chicken and shrimp tempura rolls are totally delicious. The beef sushi is very, very good too. If you are in luck Kim (although currently pregnant) will be your host/​waitress. She is soo cute w/​a voice even tinier than she is. Their dumplings are the BEST I’ve EVER had and I can eat me some food. Again, very fresh — no fillers or greasy. YUMMY :)
