Yep, I’m a fan. I’ve been meaning to try this place out for quite some time. That time was today. The décor — awesome. Really modern, yet comfortable. The interior is very clean and it still has that«very new» look and feel to it. I really hope they can keep this up. The place is beautiful. Restrooms are to the left as you enter and there is a nice place to hang coats. Immediately to your right as you enter is the counter area. Straight ahead, as you enter, is the host stand and bakery counter with register. The pastries were gorgeous. I love a diner that can produce pastries that make me envy their looks. The service — excellent. From being greeted by the host, to the attention from the server, to the cashier who took my payment, everyone was friendly and on top of what they were doing. The food — OHEMGEE. The menu is what you’d expect from a diner — it’s comprehensive. I wanted breakfast because breakfast is good at any hour, but I decided to try something different. I ordered a chicken fajita wrap in a white tortilla. The menu said it came with fries and slaw. When my meal came out, the wrap had been pressed in a panini maker, which I LOVED. The serving of fries was big, as was the cup of slaw. With an ice-tea, I paid $ 12.84. It was worth it. All of it. When we pulled up at noon, the place was packed — always a good sign.

My food is always as ordered and their specials are usually tasty. I just wish the breakfast was a little more affordable, I would come back more often. They are about $ 1 more than their competitors, it adds up.

My fiancé and I have been coming to this diner every Sunday morning for over a year. We’ve dealt with the overly attentive waitress, the under attentive waitress, the waitress that asks us to remind her what we ordered 3 times instead of writing it down, the waitress that looks like her tips are buying her meth later that night but kept coming back for the food. Unfortunately today was the last straw. We both work Sunday mornings so we wake up extra early to have a nice breakfast here. The restaurant itself is very nice and the food is delicious. We have noticed the manager on numerous occasions talking down to the hostesses who seem to be high school aged employees. We’ve stood at the door for minutes while the manager gossips about waitresses, all while tables were open everywhere. We already had pegged her as someone who loves to tell her young employees how bad they are at their job although they do nothing wrong. This morning the young hostess greeted us and promptly sat us at a table we had sat at numerous times. We sat… And sat… And waited… Made eye contact with 4 or 5 different waitresses talking to each other at the coffee station… And waited more. We waited about 8 minutes with no sign of a waitress. We got up and handed the manager our menus. My fiancé said«you can have these back since no one wants to wait on us.» We stood there for a few seconds expecting some type of apology, but she proved what a rude incompetent manager she really is. She turns to the hostess and asks«where did you sit them?!» The hostess’ mouth dropped and tried to explain that she simply sat them with the next waitress in line. As we walk out the door without any explanation, the manager continues to berate the young hostess who again, did her job correctly. If you can tolerate this nonsense, then that’s great. But I refuse to keep coming to a restaurant that puts this sorry excuse for a manager at the front door so everyone can see the ridiculous way she treats her employees. I feel bad for the hostesses and hope they don’t let this power hungry woman embarrass and degrade them any longer. Everyone deserves respect, especially these young ladies who do a fine job.

Received terrible service the last time I went there. This diner used to be our go-to diner for Sunday breakfast/brunch but I’m planning to advise all of my family & friends to not support this restaurant any longer. I detest horrible service & won’t spend my hard earned dollars in an establishment that doesn’t treat their customers with dignity and respect.

My mom insisted that we go here because their food is good but it had«diner» in the title so I didn’t expect much. Wow, was I wrong! The service was great(although admittedly it was like 8pm). The food was fantastic! I had the chicken parmesan sandwich with curly fries and devoured all of it, which pretty much never happens. I brought home the strawberry shortcake and pumpkin cheesecake, both absolutely delightful! I would recommend it to a friend and I will definitely be going back the next time I visit my mom!

I went there twice breakfast and dinner. I had their so called famous prime rib. It really sucked, I wanna know how it’s famous??? Then I had breakfast, cream chipped beef. It really sucked. It looked and tasted like spackle. They did take it off the bill and they we all very nice about it. But I won’t go back. I think I let the décor fool me. It is very clean and nice inside. But I want good food.

Stopped by after a great lecture at Camden County College, husband wanted a toasted cinnamon bun and to waiter’s credit he said they were a day old and to try something else so hubby had Cream of Crab soup that was good and Apple Pie that was average. I had Chocolate Cream Pie that was horrible. It came in a individual pie plate, it had a cardboard crust, at least that’s what it tasted like, it had a white fluffy topping that was way to sweet and made of something artificial, the filling was colored beige, made of same stuff. Totally inedible. How hard is it to make this pie? Pie crust, chocolate pudding filling and whipped cream on top! Not sure what I was served was even food! Took a few bites and left the rest. Ugh! Awful!

Breakfast only review. It was my first time here and the petit dejeuner was strong. My first impression of this diner is that cleanliness is valued. Tables, floors and cutlery were spotless. The small dessert case near the register tempted us as we entered, and even as we left satiated. My lovely date’s choice of banana nut pancakes was humongous. Fluffy and tasty, with plenty of slivered almonds and whipped cream. It was delicious even without syrup. After seeing these I know that they or a similar pancake specialty will be my choice for next time. My avocado and tomato omelet was very good as well. I opted for Am cheese to meld the flavors and was glad I did. I enjoyed the hash browns which were nicely grilled and crispy on the top and bottom. I was appreciative that this restaurant goes easy on the sodium. I prefer to add my own for dishes like this, and just put a dash on both. My meal came with toast, juice, and Java or tea. The food came out super quickly, and the waitress was attentive to our needs. It’s the first diner I’ve been to in this area, but it compares very favorably to the better ones in my area. On my limited experience in this locale, I would recommend it for a fast and filling morning meal. Desserts, I have my eye on you for visit 2.0

Ate here for Sunday breakfast. Diner is large so it was not hard to get a table quickly. Food was good. Service was good. Would recommend.

For a diner, the atmosphere and appearance is great. The service is quick and friendly. I have had issues in the past with my food which is why I gave it three stars, but they always resolve the problem. I ordered a veggie omelette with fries. The omelette wasn’t the best but it will do. The fries on the other hand could have been much better.

Food is mediocre at best and customer service here is the absolute worst. I was told that if I didn’t like the service not to bother coming back. Oh trust me, I never will! I guess they didn’t like when we complained that we had to swat flies during our entire meal, completely disgusted. You’d think in a state with more diners than anywhere else customer service would be a lot better. Take your money elsewhere.

Great atmosphere! Friendly staff! Great food! Their burgers are the best in the area with unique flavor combinations. Love their Reuben and their Gyro too. If I had to request any changes to their menu, it would be for more ice cream deserts and that their Fish and Chips came with an in house tartar sauce and plenty of it. All in all, a great local eatery!

Sadly, I can no longer recommend this diner — which is a shame because I have been a loyal customer since they opened. The food is decent and the price is right where is should be. However — I had service issues last night and when I went to speak with the owner(Andy), he basically called me a liar and told me to go «F*** myself» He told me that he everything on camera. I asked him if he could hear the conversation since his whole defense was«I have everything on camera» and he refused to answer. And when I mentioned that I would put this on Unilocal,he said he didn’t care. That no one believes anything posted here anyway. Again — i would have no issues recommending this place if the owner took a little bit better care of my service issues. But, I work to hard to earn my money to give it to someone who basically said they don’t care about their customer.

Tried this place for the first time! Pretty impressive. Very nice and spacious inside. Only downside, they consider themselves a diner but close at 11:00pm. We got the lamppost sampler(3 wings, 3 mozzarella sticks, 3 potato skins). Delish. The wings were very good. Boyfriend and I shared: jersey cheesesteak(cheesesteak with pork roll) and curly fries and the farmers omelette and scrapple. The cheesesteak and fries were delish. Scrapple looked gross but it was very good. The omelette was light on the toppings side and we think they made us the wrong one. Service was great. We got some desserts to go: peanut butter cheesecake and brownie. YUMMY!

I went in at 6 a.m. I had had a long day the day before and had awaken at 4 a.m. I wasn’t in the mood for breakfast, so I decided to give this place a shot. I was a little concerned when I sat down and was handed a breakfast menu. When I asked if they were only serving breakfast, the server did offer me a lunch/dinner menu. I ordered the cheesesteak«Whiz Wit.» It came out hot and delicious. I am not a fan of the«starch» fries like Burger King used to have. The service was fine. The place looked cleaned. I will go back here again and try one of the dinner entrees since the menu had so many delicious specials. I went back a second time with my mom on 7−8−14. The service was excellent and attentive. The two seafood dishes we order were fresh.

Unlike my last review this time it was adults only. We went on a quiet Saturday night; the place wasn’t busy. They have an extensive bargain menu starting at 10 bucks with a highly recommended upgrade for three bucks to include not only soup and salad(nice), but desert too(Great selection of cake and pie worth a trip!) We had 2 chicken parms and one ½ chicken dinner. The salads were fine with a nice selection of dressings available, the soup was the best one could expect for a 15 buck all inclusive dinner. The chicken parm was very well cooked with nice gravy, bubbly cheese and tasty not burned chicken. The ½ chicken was mildly spiced and delicious, not dry. Our only complaint is that the great corn bread they serve was all gone and we had to be satisfied with plain rolls. The coffee was ok, I like Starbucks dark roast or the like so I know I must make allowances at a place like the Lamp Post. The desert is quite a production — one arises from the table and walks to different displays to observer the various fruits of the Lamp Post’s baker’s art. Fruit and cream pies, Italian rum cake, Strawberry shortcake, Cannolis, puddings, you name it, it’s yours. Usually there are waitstaff making up checks and eating a meal back by the desert cases who are quite liberal with their advice and opinions. Every house baked desert anyone I know has had has always been great! This is a nice space with outstanding, helpful servers who want to please. If you’re in the area and want to eat you should check this place out.

This is really 2.5 star diner but I rounded down. If there’s two things that you can really judge a diner’s worth on, it’s their coffee and home fries. Their coffee is decent, and two cups served me well. However, their home fries might be the the worst I’ve ever had. They’re lucky I’m not a picky customer, because I think most people would have been livid if they’d received the uncooked, soggy mess of home fries that I did. I laughed it off since I’m not a home fries fan anyway, but seriously? Gross. I had an egg and cheese on croissant. It was good, but with only three ingredients it’s hard to mess up. My boyfriend’s pastrami sandwich however was lackluster, with fatty and stringy meat that had the wrong consistency for being pastrami. The fries were meh, and cold when they came out. It’s a shame because this place is so nice and clean looking. Maybe I should’ve tried a dessert? As far as diners go this one is subpar, especially in a state as renowned for diners as Jersey.

This place was super packed tonight so they must be doing something right. The family went here for dinner and we ordered some mozz sticks. They were tasty. Dinners that were ordered were pasta rustico, chicken parm, burgers, hot turkey dinner and grilled cheese. All seemed to be enjoyed. The desserts were brownie cheesecake, plain cheesecake, cannoli, and strawberry cheesecake. The strawberry cheesecake had banana flavor which was odd. The rest was just ok. You can tell they sat in the fridge all day. The server was good and friendly and worked hard. All in all it was a pleasant experience.

The hot corned beef sandwich was nicely presented, but had way too much salt. It tasted like it might have been from an industrial source – do they have thinly sliced corned beef in cans? Our waitress was very friendly and helpful. It’s a shame the food wasn’t any good. The 8-page menu should have warned me off – how can you possibly make so many different things well?
