I happened to visit this glider operation when I was in Florida visiting my sister. I know one of the flight instructors/​ride pilots from working with him in Truckee, CA.
I was impressed with the overall look of this operation. The grounds were immaculate maybe because the grass had just been mowed, and let me tell you they have acres and acres of grass.
I didn’t get a chance to fly here due to the weather, but the facility and crew were great. A beautiful place!

I emailed to book an intro flight. The day before the flight, I received an email saying the plane didn’t have it’s annual done. I rescheduled for the following weekend. I arrived 20 minutes before my scheduled lesson. They were completely disorganized. I didn’t get to fly the glider I booked, my intro lesson started over an hour late. The CFI had me piggyback on the ground school of the earlier student. By far, one of the worst instructors I have ever had. I do not recommend this place for anyone. If you’re looking to do some fun flying, I recommend going to Jack Brown’s in Winter Haven to fly a Piper Cub on floats or aerobatics with Patty Wagstaff in St. Augustine.

Love it, love it, love it! The ride is fantastic and the scenery is beautiful looking down at all the lakes and trees. Caught a thermal that lifted us to take a bit more time in the air. Great place for a calm adventure!
