I’ve been following Mandy all over Cleveland for years now and here we are! As always, Mandy does a great job with cuts, color, and being a cool person. She’s wonderful to chat with and super when it comes to getting hair advice. She works really hard to personalize everything so that it fits your style, lifestyle and what you want.
As for the salon, this place makes me feel like a giant. It’s basically a wide hallway full of people and hair products. This isn’t a bad thing, but I was a little nervous wearing my bulky winter coat in here while all of the chairs were filled.
Cuts are a little higher priced here, but as I’ve mentioned in other salon reviews, you really do get what you pay for in this situation. I’d rather invest a lot into a good cut and color that will last me awhile than have to grow out a bad cut or color.

So happy I found this salon! The atmosphere is cozy and intimate. Mandy did a wonderful job with my cut and listened to how I like to style (or rather, how much I HATE to style) my hair. We chatted all through the cut and it was overall just a great experience. Plus all of the products that they use smell AMAZING. If I hadn’t just gotten a bunch of new hair stuff at ULTA I definitely would have asked about them and I’ll probably purchase some stuff the next time I’m there. On that note, there was NO PRESSURE to buy their products, which was incredibly refreshing. I moved to Cleveland about a year ago and I have definitely found my salon!

When two of my favorite stylists left another Cleveland Heights salon — I had 3 options — 1. go to someone new at the salon I’ve been going to for years 2. panic and go back to a mega salon or 3. check out what seemed like a nice little place a little further into the heights.
So I ended up at Shawn Paul on a Sunday afternoon. My stylist, Britney, had only started there a week earlier, but you’d never know it. She and the other stylists chit chatted like they’d been friends forever. (I mean, she has been friends with Mandy forever, but…) Everyone was so friendly and nice that I felt like I was in someone’s super cute living room getting my hair done instead of a salon. I’ve never had that experience anywhere else, but I really liked it.
This salon is definitely worth checking out, especially if you’re looking for a more personalized experience.

I once got my hair cut and it turns out to be so adorable! The girl is very patient and professional. I just plan to go these two days as my hair gets longer:)

I had my hair cut by Holly at Shawn Paul for the first time yesterday. My ends have all of a sudden gotten really dry and she helped me realize what was causing that. The treatment she put on the ends worked really well, and the haircut was also great. I will definitely become a regular!

Love this place! Always fun, great conversation, and they truly care that you look your very best. Doesn’t matter if it’s your first or 20^th visit, you’ll feel like you’re hanging out with friends.

I moved to Cleveland from Philadelphia last year. I LOVED my hair stylist in Philadelphia and was convinced that I was not going to find anyone as good as him. Well, I was wrong. I dragged my feet for 8 months before finally calling for an appointment with Shawn Paul so he had to deal with a lot of hair (and spent 1.5 hours on it!). My hair is thick and extremely straight with funny little kinks in random places. Shawn Paul did a fantastic job in layering so that as my hair grew out it still maintained the look. I just went back for my second appointment and was as pleased as the first. Shawn Paul has mad skills and makes you feel like you are just spending the hour chatting with a good friend while your hair magically becomes beautiful.

I am so glad I found Shawn Paul. He is extremely gifted. I have very challenging hair — very fine and very thin. I have been to a lot of high end salons in major cities, and the cuts I get from Shawn Paul are simply the best I’ve had. His prices are very reasonable and he’s an incredibly sweet guy. You won’t regret trying this place!

I love this place. It has such a great neighborhood feel and Shawn Paul makes you feel right at home. I feel fabulous after every appointment and my hair always gets compliments. Can’t ask for much more in a hair salon place. Come here if you want personal attention to your hair at a reasonable price. Extras are the local art on the wall, salon products and a décor that makes you feel like you’re the most important person in the chair!

I am a hair stylist’s worst nightmare. I swim year round. A lot. I color my own hair. A lot. I use crappy shampoo. A lot. I wait until the last possible moment to get a hair cut. A lot. And, I periodically snip wayward locks with my own scissors. Okay, a lot.
Shawn Paul will work with you to find a good look that works with your lifestyle, your budget, and your personality. No judgment, no unreasonable suggestions, and you’ll actually have fun in process.
The salon is a comfortable and relaxing space where you can get an appointment without a huge wait. The Surface products that I sampled have made an amazing difference in the texture and softness of my hair (despite the continued chlorine and box coloring). And, my scalp massage was heavenly.
In short, I like Shawn Paul Salon. A LOT.

Don’t let the wee size of this salon, tucked in between a dive bar and the Stone Oven, fool you — Shawn Paul has a lot of styling power and talent. Reasonably priced, really high-​quality cuts and color. And face waxes (although there unfortunately isn’t enough room for other kinds of waxing; I mean, I guess that’s unfortunate, right? Maybe not for passers-​by…)
The salon carries Surface products, which are new to me, but smell nice and make your hair shiny and wonderful in that way that is always tough to recreate after leaving your initial hair appointment (at least for me).
Besides being a top-​notch stylist, Shawn Paul is personable and fun to talk to and makes you feel at home as a client. He has a good eye for what will work for you and is receptive to your concerns. For example: «Do not make me look like a Beatle.» Done and done! I left my last session very pleased not to look like Ringo circa 1964.
There’s also usually some artwork and crafts on display (and for sale) by local Heights artists.
And to top it all off, I hear there’s a stash of San Pellegrino in the fridge.
