Ace Taxi Service

Psychos and unprofessional. Had planned my rides 24 hours in advance. They never showed up for ride home from doctor. I had to walk miles home.

They never called to warn there was a problem. I called them 6 times while waiting an hour.

I continued calling all day to find out what the problem was. Their system would not put my call through to a human.

Their system recognizes who you are by your telephone number. If they know there is a problem with the ride, they will be afraid to talk to you and will not answer.

Liars and cheats! They never showed up after I called them the night before and painstakingly told them when and where to pick me up. They send a robo-​text so you think they are on the way but THEY NEVER SHOWED. And to make matters worse: they charged me for the ride I never took. I tried calling the office (Lisa in customer service) and she never called back. And I called again. Nothing. Go with UBER. These goes are terrible.

I have used Ace twice for scheduled early morning rides to the airport. Both times, the operator I spoke to the night before was organized and friendly. Taxi was 5 minutes early both times, but didn’t try to rush me out the door or charge me for the wait time. The first time, the driver was ranting to me about taxi vs. über at 7 am, which wasn’t ideal. I think he also took a short wrong turn somewhere. He’d get a 3 star rating, but still acceptable since he was on time and got me to the airport reliably. So I called again for my next trip — second driver was pleasant, on time, no wrong turns, and would get 5 stars. So, on average — 4 stars by performing where it counts in terms of being on time in the early morning. I plan to call again for another trip if needed.

My son was in town recently and hailed a cab late at night with a group of his friends. They were dropped off at a bar and before my son realized that his wallet had fallen out of his jeans in the cab, the driver had left. No one even knew which cab company they had flagged down so we thought the wallet was gone for good. Today, the wallet, with all credit cards and cash in tact, arrived in the mail. I just had to write because this type of honesty and integrity is so rare these days. To think that the cab owner was kind enough to take the time and expense to return the wallet goes far beyond the call of duty and deserves a shout-​out of thanks.

Ace Taxi is terrible. The wait time varies. Sometimes I request a driver for a certain time and he shows up 15 minutes early (and still charges me for the time that he had to wait for me to come out). The longest wait has been 2 hours. I was late that day.
Once the driver (supposedly) showed up to the location and sent that text thing they send but never called. We walked around my multi-​building college campus looking for him for 5 minutes and then our reservation was cancelled and we waited another 30 minutes for a different driver. You arent told what kind of vehicle the driver will be in ahead of time. One time my mom got in a random car because she thought it was the taxi. Sometimes its a clearly marked van but sometimes its regular looking car.
Sometimes I feel unsafe in the taxi because the driver is using the phone or brushing their hair or driving aggressively or over the speed limit and I swear they sometimes purposefully take longer routes or make wrong turns to drive up the cost of the fare.
It seems sketchy that there’s a screen thing in the car with a card swipe but sometimes the drivers have you swipe the card on their cellphone instead. One said to me «I don’t want them getting my money» before he did it.
My partner is so fed up with this taxi service that she’s opening an account with a bank so she will have a debit card that’s compatible with Über. Über allows you to review your driver, tells you what kind of car the driver is in as well as a picture of him or her and there’s always ubers in the area so you shouldn’t be waiting for 2 hours.

I would give them a zero if possible! I was rear ended AT A RED LIGHT by one of their drivers. After several attempts to get in tough with someone at the facility, I finally had to drive there myself to get insurance information. The driver who hit me told me he had to be somewhere and to call the company and left. After going to the hospital and auto body shops to estimate damage to my car the president of the company Devo Bivishi as well as the claims manager Derrick Russell, both argued with me numerous times on the phone about paying the costs for my car and bills. The driver of the cab didn’t even report it to his company!!! I have hired legal assistance since there is no getting through to these people. The drive reckless and every one of their employees I have come in contact with whether it be on the road, in person or on the phone is RUDE AND UNPROFESSIONAL! Its ridiculous that a company doesn’t even try to improve or have good standing with customers and just people in general. I wouldn’t trust them if my life depended on it!

Ace Taxicab is the epitome of the reason why Über is putting taxi services to shame. I called Ace Taxicab to take me to the airport. I wanted to be at the airport the suggested arrival time, 1−½ hours before my flight. I called for the cab with plenty of time to spare. The service told me they were dispatching a cab and someone would be there soon. No one arrived. They called me back about 25 minutes later to ask if I still needed the cab, because they didn’t want to send someone out if I didn’t need it anymore. Huh? I assured them they were my only way to the airport and I had already waited too long. I also realized that they had actually only just dispatched someone, and had not done found anyone when I originally called. Well, my entire wait was about an hour, and when the man arrived he told me he had only recently been dispatched and had followed the GPS directions (which brought him probably 10 miles out of the way). At that point, my plane was going to be boarding in 40 mins. I was in full panic mode. They seemed unconcerned about me as a customer or a person with a problem (of catching my flight on time); and when the driver arrived, there was no sense of urgency at my dilemma. If they had originally told me there was no one to dispatch, I would have looked for another cab company. Next time I’ll call Über.

Freaking horrible! We called them to pick us up from a restaurant 1 mile from down town. We waited 45 min then called to check in they told us we weren’t in a very good part of town. It was pouring rain. Finally they said they sent a driver who was 1 mile away, 15 min later we called again and were pleading for them to come get us, then a city bus rolled up and we jumped on it. We live in Oakland CA and have never had cab service tell us we’re in a bad area.

Usually I have a decent experience with this Ace Taxi. I recently took a cab to the airport. Driver on time, check. Driver drove safely, check. Made it to the airport on time, check. Driver, talked appropriately, uncheck. The driver of this cab started to preach and cuss all the way to the airport. At one moment I started to get nervous about his mental health. He talked from my pick up location all the way to the airport. Upon arrival, he calmed down and returned to «normal «. WEIRD! ! Thank God I made it safely, but that was the most unusual, and slightly unnerving cab ride of my life.

I requested a driver to take me and my small elderly dog to the veterinarian. I called Ace to make arrangements in advance. The driver was early. He was pleasant and professional. We got to the vet in good time. The driver was ready and available when we were finished and ready to leave. The rates were reasonable and within one dollar of the quoted price. I was very impressed with the service. It is rare that a company lives up to their advertising. Ace Taxi surpassed it.

Scheduled for pickup at 4am. Cab did not arrive until 4:35 am. This was on a Friday morning. I am very unhappy with this service. They asked if it was for a flight so they knew time was important and still arrived late.

I only call as a last resort. Waited 15 minutes after dispatcher said taxi would be there shortly. Started walking home…30 minutes. I then called back, ace apologized and said a taxi was on its way… I said I was already home. I only called ace cause Über wasn’t available.

As a Cleveland resident who doesn’t have a car and can’t always use public transit to get to particular places, I’ve had to rely on taxis on several occasions. There are certain risks that come with taking a cab anywhere — curmudgeonly drivers, lateness, dirty vehicles, etc. — but Ace is certainly among the worst companies in the city.
While the bulk of my drivers have been friendly (or at least personable), they’re far from reliable. The company’s horrible dispatching service often reassigns taxis in a short time frame, making for a painful wait if one is expected to be somewhere at a given time. If you are relaxed about your own schedule, Ace might not prove as much of an issue; however, avoid this service if you need to be at a job interview, an appointment, a gig, etc.
I have yet to use Lyft or Über (I plan to do so in the near future), but they seem highly recommended by both Unilocal users and the general public because of lower fares, more reliability, and good service. Do not opt for Ace out of convenience; either take a stab at another company or use the rapid.

I called for a taxi to the airport. They said ten minutes. I waited an hour. Horrible service

Called for a taxi after delayed flight arrived in Cleveland at 2am. Waited 25 minutes and no taxi. Called again and taxi arrived around 2:45am. Then was charged twice for the ride when the driver insisted the credit card machine didn’t work. Still waiting for my refund. Don’t use them. I’d give them a –0– rating.

Watch out. They pretend the credit card machine didn’t take your card so when you pay cash your card gets charged days later. I called them 5 times to try and get the money back they STOLE from me and never received a call back — - called the «manager» many times and never picked up.
I’m so irritated by it because I knew it would happen but the driver was so persistent and wouldn’t let us leave. Good scheme they have going.

Only Cleveland cab company I use. I have used this more times than I can count, and never have been passed over by a driver, and when I have booked in advance they have always been on time (nearly always early). Last night we booked a cab for 7:30 and received a call at 7:15 from the driver saying he is here and no rush for us to come down because he was early.
Had a horrible experience with Wolley Taxi later the same evening and regretted not using Ace again.

I wouldn’t even give if one star but I had too. Awful doesn’t even describe the service buts it’s the best adjective I could come up with. First we were told 15 minutes… 45 minutes later the cab driver was 1 mile away 20 minutes later he arrived. The cab smelled awful and I felt like I was in a bad amusement park ride. Bottom line use über!

Horrible. Dont ever use them, especially if you are new to the city and on your own!!! I am a single female here in Cleveland for my first time. Was told the driver would call when he arrived. He never called, drove off without me! When I finally got in the taxi when the company sent him back, he had the lamest excuses ready: «we don’t like to come wait here»…sir, u wouldn’t have to wait if u called to tell me u were 2 min away! I’m by myself, I’m not waiting outside in the cold, dark alone! And then I flat out told him: you think you have it bad? Don’t complain, this isn’t Detroit! Do your job… I wanted to yell at him and hated even paying him!

NOT dependable if you need a taxi to make your appointment on time.
I scheduled a taxi for my wife to the airport days in advance. I got the confirmation email and text. That time came and went. No taxi.
I called the cab company and they were very abrupt, no apology, but did send another cab immediately.
At least he showed up, about 30 min after the original reservation time. He then proceeds to tells my wife that the drivers are independent operators, that they DO NOT HAVE TO accept the reservation that Ace’s Taxi assigns to them if they don’t want it (because they were probably trolling for a higher fare downtown or somewhere else; or maybe your address isn’t near his home; etc).
This guy tells my wife that he came out of the goodness of his heart to help her out. I kid you not, those were his words.
If she wasn’t at risk of missing her flight, I would have sent the guy away and called another company.
Ace’s Taxi management: this is no way to do business. You must hold your drivers responsible to show up for reservations on time.

Shockingly bad – and consistently so.
I once overheard someone saying she had been trying to get home from the hospital for several hours using Ace Taxi: she kept calling, they kept saying a cab was coming… no cab ever came.
I remembered the name to avoid – but Ace must operate under multiple names, or take over the phone numbers of recently-​closed competitors, or something: I tried several cab companies and got Ace every time. I have a very hard time finding a non-​Ace taxi in Cleveland.
Well, I’ve tried 3 Ace rides now. Drivers and dispatchers were friendly (75% of the time) and the cabs had 4 wheels and window glass. But there are three problems:
1. They may or may not ever arrive. As near as I can tell, when you call they’ll dispatch a cab in theory – and you will get a text message that the cab is on its way to you. But in practice, even after that text, if that driver finds someone else to pick up (or knows of an area near them that’s promising?), they just do that instead, and never notify you nor have a second cab sent. And no other cab gets sent in its place – unless you call a second time and order a second cab, which may also never show up. So I missed an emergency medical appointment. I told them that’s what it was; made no difference.
2. The drivers often lie (the dispatcher even explained this to me) about taking credit cards. Some cabs take cards and some don’t – but even the ones that do, the driver will often lie and say it’s broken. I had one take my credit card and swipe it on his personal phone instead of the cab’s meter. Another time the driver gave me a hard time about paying by card, like it was a personal insult to him. You just cannot trust what will happen. I ALWAYS told the dispatcher that credit card payment was a must – but that didn’t mean a thing. The dispatcher lies to you and says they’ll inform the cab that it’s a credit card customer, but they clearly don’t or the driver wouldn’t be so shocked every time.
3. They consistently give a false low price on the phone, and then charge you MUCH more (neighborhood of 40% more) once the ride is done. That’s with an accurate address given, and the driver taking a good and logical route; so their estimates shouldn’t be off by that much. And if they were simpy making «mistakes,» why is the error always in the direction of a bait-​and-​switch? I even had one driver sit there, after we were already at the destination, as the meter kept rising – taking his time dealing with my card, and making a little more money by going slow. I didn’t know a cab’s meter could keep rising while the cab sits still and the job has been concluded. I guess it can.
So don’t use Ace – and if you call what you think is another company, ask if they are Ace!
