Case Western Reserve University

When I was in high school and said that I had gotten into Case Western Reserve University, I was greeted with one of two reactions. «Oh, is that a community college?» or «Wow, that’s a great school!» Case wasn’t really on the map at all. Due to many things, including the efforts of President Barbara Snyder, I think that’s changing.
Currently ranked #38 on a list of the best US colleges and universities, CWRU is a great institution. I was fortunate enough to attend from 2008 – 2012. I’m glad to say that it’s only gotten better since I’ve graduated.
My freshman year, fellow students seemed to have one of two opinions about Cleveland and Case. You either loved both or hated both. While my first year was somewhat challenging, I quickly adjusted and came to adore both Cleveland and Case. If you choose to invest yourself in the university and in the area, you will love your time here. If not, as with anything else, then you won’t and you’ll be better off moving on.
I participated in many activities at Case. I worked at the Flora Stone Mather Center for Women, was involved in Greek Life in several ways, took classes in 5 different academic departments, etc. Case provided me ample activities to get involved and I loved everything I tried.
I’ve visited CWRU a few times since graduating, and the area is much nicer than it was when I attended. There’s a bowling alley on campus, tons of new restaurants, a new student center, a new gym, etc. I’m pretty jealous, truth be told! Even when I was there, though, I had access to some of the best things Cleveland has to offer. You could visit the Cleveland Museum of Art or Natural History Museum, both within walking distance, for free, the HealthLine took you downtown for free in a matter of minutes, you could get discounted tickets to the Botanical Gardens, etc.
Case Western Reserve is an amazing institution. Even now, 3 years removed, I think of it and miss it. I will always value my time at CWRU, and from what I’ve read recently, it seems like many more people will as well. Case is only improving and I can’t think of a better university to attend!

Top school. Nice Campus and a city feel. Your close to downtown and everything. CLE has a lot to offer.

This review is for the school of nursing. Primarily the graduate program. Case western advertises distance friendly. Do not be fooled if you live out of state prepare to fly in at least once a month. It is impossible to follow the plan of study as the intensives overlap at least in the adult Gero np and family np majors. Mental health major is much more organized. I thought when I was accepted here it would be the best experience of my life. I have to admit, especially if paying out of pocket; save your money. Some teachers may email you disrespectful emails if you attempt to solve a scheduling issue or make any suggestions.

A great institution in the heart of Cleveland’s growing University Circle neighborhood. I wish the university had as much to offer when I was there! Free parking at the bookstore (30 mins) along with electric car charging stations, and free wifi everywhere.

Frank Gehry… oh how I love thee… designs anyway. If you are a Frank Gehry or architecture nerd, stop by. Named after Peter B. Lewis, chief executive and president of Progressive Insurance, Frank Gehry’s building in the Case Western Reserve campus is a $ 62 million building (of which Mr. Lewis gave $ 37 million) with 152,000 square feet of space. Peter B. Lewis and Frank Gehry have had a long professional and personal career dating back to Lewis’ commissioning Gehry to design his home, which was never built. The long design process for the unbuilt home is credited with having helped many of the design advances that would lead to Gehry’s design of the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao. Like in Bilbao, here Gehry makes use of the undulating forms that have now become his signature.

Interesting campus– very well maintained with lots of sculptures. I really liked Peter B. Lewis, designed by world-​renowned architect Frank Gehry. It is wrapped in overlapping metal plates and odd ribbon like shapes that are very organic. I liked it a lot– worth a visit for this alone. All the arts buildings nearby are nice too– great for a walk around.

I am reviewing this because I met some awesome people through church that are graduates of Case. This college was even my friend’s choice when he applied for colleges in highschool.

I took a summer class here and though it was a very nice campus and well kept up. My Dad got his Master’s here and he says they have a great School of Business. I believe it’s pretty hard to get into Case. It is not a huge school but the programs it does offer are very well known around the Country.

I came back to visit and they built housing lining the football field! If it were a division 1 school with great football those would be, maybe, prime seats, but no, it’s a division 3 school which doesn’t have the best football record either. So bad idea. But I got a good education/​had fun, so 3 stars.
