Spoiled… Live right next to one of the best branches in the system!!! I REALLY like going here with my laptop on a cold snowy evening and glom some free WiFi… And a pretty decent selection of dvds on hand too! Also a SUPERB network of resource that stands as a crown of jewels around our fair city…

For those who couldn’t tell by the address, this one is the Brooklyn Branch. This branch has a somewhat unique layout compared to other libraries in the metro area. The selection is about average for libraries around Cleveland and is somewhat less crowded than many other locations. One major complaint I have for this specific library is that due to the open layout, it tends to get a bit loud during busier times so it isn’t ideal for studying. Other than that, I highly recommend it. I usually go to the Parma South Library but this one is also a good choice.

I don’t know much about this particular branch of the CPL as I tend to hit up the Southwest branch. *However,* I have nothing but praise for the CPL system as a whole. I used to live in Cambridge, MA and was able to request books and CDs through the *extremely* extensive Minuteman system in Massachusetts… Truth is, I think I’ve been able to find more great, obscure music here in the CPL system.(New stuff like Ted Leo and the Pharmacists, the Books, Rilo Kiley; older stuff like Television and the Stooges; and even some really out-there stuff like Throbbing Gristle and the Raincoats). And that’s just the music. I’ve also found tons of great books, books on tape, and graphic novels(okay, comic books). Plus, many of their audiobooks are available as free downloads through their website. If you’re a tax-paying resident of Cuyahoga county and you’re not a member of the CPL, you’re wasting your money!

I don’t think this is the nicest library around Cleveland. It’s a little run down and the books are pretty old. The selection is not that great either. I would probably try a different library if you are looking for a book that is hard to find.
