East vs. West: Chutney Rolls

Yes, it was a bit crowded, but this was impressive in a lot of ways. Great food and drinks and Habby’s henna handiwork. I was maybe most impressed by how engaged the owner was. He made an effort to talk to everyone and really showed that he’s passionate about his business. I loved being shown a new place in this way, and even though I didn’t get henna done, it was really fun to see everyone else’s beautiful designs.

East vs. West always brings sadness to me. I think of the frenzy the media created in the mid 90’s that ultimately led to the demise of 2Pac and BIG. I also think of the division of Cleveland. Chutney Rolls is a great place that brings unity and oneness. And the business owner is a really great guy. He does not harass people like some guy around these parts does.

This was my second Unilocal Elite event better, and the atmosphere was much more sociable :) So happy I went despite having a long ass work day! The food tasting was varied, which I appreciate. Beef, and naan, and lamb, oh my! I can’t forget about the samosas either. And then those lassi drinks… Deeeeeeeeeelicious. Thank you Chutney Rolls for being such a gracious host!

This was really great; we all got a sample of a vast variety of curries and treats from Chutney Roll’s menu, and it was all really tasty stuff. There were also various types of Lassi drinks samples that made the palate happy:)
The henna art was also really neat, and overall, it was a really great time. Great job from the folks at Chutney Rolls and Cara, Russa and the rest of the Unilocal Team!

OOps The Unilocal Team did it again! Great event. I was really excited when I found out this restaurant was hosting an event, because I had them bookmarked and had been wanting to try them for awhile, so this was definitely a treat. I’ll get the bad over with now, which was the parking… all else was null and void for me.
Now onto the phenomenal…
The owner was very welcoming and the staff took the time out to explain and answer any questions, which made me happy, because it was a pleasure to have them mingling with everyone and fitting right in. Looking at the menu the food is definitely reasonably priced and the décor of the place is simple yet modern.
The food was really good and I even stepped out of my comfort zone and tried the lamb, Lipta Lamb to be specific. It actually turned out to be my favorite dish, it had a nice spice to it. The mini samosas were my second favorite and I will most definitely be back just to order those! There was a variety of vegetarian, chicken, beef, and lamb dishes, so they most certainly have something for everyone at this restaurant and it’s all really tasty, because my third favorite dish was the Shakkar Kand & Chana, which was a vegetarian sweet potato dish and boy was it good.
I really enjoyed myself overall. You can’t beat having great food with great people! Thanks to Habby for the Henna, it looks phenomenal this morning, but now i’m wishing I would have gotten my whole hand done!!! Oh and to my WESTSIDE NO LIMIT SOLDIERS who were at this event, all I can say is UGHHHHHHH!!! lol…

I love going to Elite Unilocal events because they take me places I would never normally think to go and are always a blast. That and lets face it, we are awesome and I love getting to talk to everyone IRL!
This one was no exception. Not only was the food delicious (I already made plans to go back this weekend), but the Unilocal staff are genuinely so cool and down to earth and make every event awesome. I feel more like I am going to a party at a friends house than a company event. The henna was a total bonus too, I totally look like a badass at work now. Even though the venue was probably a little too small, I think all in all it was a total hit!
I can’t wait to go to the next one, great job guys!

Yay for another fun Unilocal event! I work very close to Chutney Rolls, but I never go into this area so tonight was a great opportunity for me to explore whats is near by. Tonight’s event had a fun chill vibe to it and I love that I can show up in my gym clothes and still feel comfortable socializing and laughing with my fellow Unilocalers. Well, maybe there was a little judgement from Young P. because I had chocolate on my face from inhaling a cookie (I’m allowed, see previous comment about the gym).
The food was okay, always great to try things I might not have otherwise tried. I would probably check this place out again one more time. The staff was also pretty friendly and informative when I asked questions about the food, but what was really awesome was the local henna tattoo artist giving out amazing henna tattoos! She made it look so easy! I definitely would have smudged up people’s tattoos and just called them brown snowmen.
