This place is a clean dive bar with a great selection of beers over in the Tremont area. Nicely shaded patio area where you can enjoy quiet conversation, and even bring your dog. Service was fast and attentive, which is always appreciated. Making this a little bar I’d definitely like to go back to again. If you’re in the mood for an evening that’s low-key and casual this place offers that. Beware! It’s hipster, but they don’t bite!

Decent tap list, amazing bottled craft list. They dont have a kitchen, but are attached to the pizza place next door, which I didnt try. They do have a ‘serve yourself’ popcorn machine which is awesome. And smart. Eat popcorn, want more beer. I like the atmosphere in this place, real chill and divey.

Dog-friendly dive bar in the heart of Tremont. This is one of my favorite places of all time. I find myself here, drunkenly eating pizza by the slice for a few bucks more often than I would probably like to admit– but it’s worth it. The bartenders are extremely friendly. The large back patio is peaceful and fitted with wooden tables and a flowing water fountain complete with fish and turtles swimming around. Every now and again you’ll catch a live band, a special event(i.e. a donut and beer pairing), or intensely competitive, but fun, trivia on Thursdays for a the ultimate grand prize of free beer pitchers. I’ve even watched the Browns lose on a Sunday afternoon here. The atmosphere is great, with rotating-genre playlists depending on who the bartender is that evening. Art for sale on the walls. Antiques hanging from ceiling. All of it. And you will not find better pizza in Cleveland.

This is a nice bar with a large beer selection. The bartender was knowledgeable and helpful. And the bar was kept clean. They get a good crowd. I would recommend stopping here during your next trip to tremont !

Cool atmosphere. Like hanging there, always have. But the pizza guys care really rude and seem pretty miserable. I love stopppin in for a slice, but dread seeing them. I love the bands they book and love the patio too! Overall, great spot!

Best dive bar in town! Always an older crowd which keeps it tamer(in some ways). The best is the pool table, darts, patio, AND the cheap pizza spot attached to the bar. It’s everything you need with affordable drinks!

Love this place. Laid back bar. Good strong drinks, great prices. Pizza next door is a must every time I come here

Great little bar with lots of character. There was some really good live music on when I visited. Also managed to fulfil my lifelong dream of starting a ‘USA! USA!’ chant in this bar(I’m English…).

Went here for the first time last night with some of my girlfriends. Eccentric(or should I say electric har… har) theme. I have zero complaints. The bartender was SUPER knowledgeable on the wide selection of craft beers Edison’s carries. She was also just a really nice woman. I recorded my 100th beer on Untappd here. I had the X-10 Saison on draft by Duclaw Brewing Company. It was delicious. They really know how to pick their craft beer. I also had a glass of Anvil Bourbon Cider on tap. So delicious. The outside patio is the best. So beautiful and there is a little turtle in their man-made pond. I did not get to try the pizza myself, but my girlfriend did and she swears by it. She loaded up the toppings and was not messing around. Next time I will grab a slice.

The bar is reminiscent of Cheers — and for good reason — it opened when that was still fashionable. Dark wood and low light are far from modern. Edison’s is not trendy. It’s a fixture and it’s a fixture for good reason. The pizza is excellent and the beer is cheap and unpretentious. It’s everything you hoped a bar would be when you were younger and there’s still nothing wrong with that formula today. I usually call ahead even when I’m going to eat there as it is not uncommon to have a one hour wait for pizza. It’s well worth the wait.

Edison’s is a great chill bar with a ton of beers to choose from. Not sure I would call it a dive because the beers are not that cheap. They have trivia night that many people enjoy. I don’t like trivia because it makes me mad I spent so much on college and I don’t know the answers. Patio is really nice. Dog friendly. I do not own a dog but I enjoy other peoples. This place is cool.

After the uncomfortable booths, dingy atmosphere, and popcorn machine that looks like it hasn’t been cleaned a long time, the only redeeming quality of this place is the interior side door that allows you to order from the adjoining pizza kitchen. The pizza itself, on the other hand, is pretty good(though I’ll stop short of the alcohol-induced effusive praise I’ve heard from others). I’d describe it as topping driven, like Pepper’s but with toppings that weren’t as fresh. The folded edge crust has a clean taste, but not light or fluffy in any way. The Smucker’s honey packet is a simple and well-received touch.

Take my review with a grain of salt, for I am clearly too old for this place. I recently came for trivia night. The trivia was great, as was the beer selection. It was full of more DBs than a CVS, but I guess I can’t fault the place for that. I can, however, quibble about the sad baked wings and mediocre pizza. It was really, really loud too. Weirdly loud for a trivia night. Not for old and boring folks, I suppose.

10÷01÷14 I’ve had more pleasant experiences. This place is a dive. It tries so hard to be hipster, but fails. Just because you have a wire bicycle on the wall with Christmas lights hanging from it and a few PBR signs, doesn’t mean you are cool and hip and don’t need to, oh, I don’t know, maybe provide a good product/service? The front bar was the best room, but tiny. The hall leading to the pool table room is lined with wooden seating booths… which had dirty upholstered seats. It reeked of urine, or a urine-like smell. The walls were dirty, had holes and half the artwork looked like it was ripped from the wall. There was no menu presented, except for a draft menu, and I didn’t see any waitstaff. The back room had more seating, and a pool table. Patio was the nicest feature. The bartender was exceptionally rude and really put a damper on things. She is short, brown hair. Several people around me also noticed she was just not happy to be there-she gave a lot of attitude and eye-rolling. I asked her to mix me a specific drink(listing the ingredients) and she made a face and said«yeah, ooookay.» Wow. Our party only ordered one drink each because she was so nasty acting. Even opening a bottle or pouring a Jackie O’s was taxing for her. I tipped her anyway, hoping her mood would improve, but she snatched it up and didn’t even say thanks(and I hadn’t even picked up my drink-a concoction she made up because they have a piss-poor bar and were out of rum. For once I thanked the bar gods for the copious amount of ice in my glass, which watered down what I can only describe as liquid hate mixed with battery acid and lemon juice.) I very rarely give one stars. Our group did make a note to never return to this dump! The one star it does get is only because I saw another Unilocaler there, with her cute doggie.

I’m in love with this bar. The quaint vintage décor mixed with the casual atmosphere really just puts me in a great mood for the night. Of course the patio is amazing and I always enjoy sitting next to the cute fountain to look for fish. There aren’t enough nice things to say about Edison’s, most of which have already been said. If I lived in Tremont, this would be where I would hide away every weekend. Pizza, guys… they have it and it rocks! I am all about this wonderful food and the fact that this bar carries a delicious pie is one of the many reasons I can’t stop coming here. Not to mention I dabble in some pool every once in awhile. Edison’s really has everything I could ever want in a bar.

Edison’s is wonderful and even better during Cleveland’s 3 months of good weather because they have a great relaxed patio in the back(and you can bring your dogs – please, bring your dogs, people. I need dog interactions). The interior is a little cramped, but that just makes it cozy when you can’t enjoy the patio. Luckily, everyone is friendly here! The musicians normally end up cramped by the bar and it’s a bit of a struggle to get your beer, get to the bathroom, or just get to a comfortable breathing space. The tables provide a more intimate space if you can snag one, and there are pool tables in the back. The interior is generally pretty dim and the place is full of hipsters, but not in a pretentious way. In a welcoming way! You don’t have to worry about what you’re wearing or what you’re drinking here and that’s what makes Edison’s so great. …plus popcorn. Always the popcorn.

4.5 Stars — This review is for the bar ONLY. I am not reviewing any food here, as this is for the bar, drinks, and atmosphere. I really enjoyed my time at Edison’s, the clientele here was right up my ally. We talked to a few strangers and everyone was just enjoying themselves. The staff here is helpful on choosing a good beer from their extensive list, and the prices were decent. They have live jazz music which was really a great mood setting for this place. I could see myself hanging out here regularly due to the comfortable environment they have set here. I would say seating is the only problem here — and maybe the bathroom situation. But if you can get over that, you will love it here.

I’m really torn between 3 and 4 stars with this one. It could go either way, depending on how you look at it. But I went with the 4 stars since I do seem to keep coming back here so there must be something about this place… Sean and I end up here about every other week when we are unable to resist the allure of the pizza from Edison’s. GOD that stuff is so good. We’re big-time dog lovers so the fact that there is usually at least one furry critter in the bar is always good. Beers are diverse and pretty cheap. If you order a PBR in a bottle, you can guess your ‘playing card’ which is found on the inside of the cap. If your guess of ‘3 of clubs’ matches the cap, it’s free. Not good odds, but kinda fun anyway. Also, mad props to the barmaid the other night who referred to this beer as a ‘Pabst’ rather than the usual ‘PBR’. That reminded me of my dad, is super old school, and made me smile. :) I love all the historical photos and Thomas Edison stuff on the walls throughout the place. We’re nerdy so it’s just the ticket. The patio in the back is generally nice. Sometimes its pretty smoky though so if you’re a non-smoker like us, you may want to steer clear if it’s busy out there. Cons: It could smell better, it could be cleaner. In the bar area, there’s just a faint not-so-fresh smell. Part dog, part bathroom, part years and years of spilled beer. Bathrooms are bit on the iffy side — down a narrow staircase in the basement and are not disgusting but not great either. Overall, a nice chill spot to have some beers while waiting for pizza from Edison’s. Pick up your pizza at the window that opens into the bar and have some more beers. As long as you’re not a germophobe, you’ll probably like this spot.

I came here one night around 8pm for a few drinks after dinner with my boyfriend. Very, very casual. It was not crowded when we got there, and managed to get two seats at the bar. We camped out until around 11pm-12am-ish, by that time it was pretty busy. It seemed a lot of people there knew each other, so it must be the same crowd most nights. This place is dog friendly, so yo ucan bring your dog in. I want to go back sooo bad and try the pizza that looked/smelled so good. Reasonably priced. I got a Pabst Blue Ribbon(bottle) that had a card number from a standard deck on the inside of the bottle. The bartender had a game where if you guessed the right card, you got the beer for free. Very fun, and I almost got it right, which made it more fun for me, and wanting to buy more to keep guessing(lol). The Heinekin girls were there the night I was, so that made it a little more fun too. Very chill, I liked getting there early to get a good seat(but left before the band started playing literally ten feet away from up), and can’t wait to go again to try that pizza!

Once upon a time this was my most visited bar in Cleveland. For this reason, it will always have a place in my heart. I got love for Edison’s. Some great musicians have played here, one of them being Guitar Man. You can usually catch him on 25th now, dressed in a mask and cape, playing songs off of his up and coming cd. They’re not too bad, he’s a very talented man. The place is a house turned into a bar, still an upstairs to it, I believe it may be in use too. I could never live upstairs from a bar. Maybe it’s not, don’t take my word for it. The back patio, is brick-layer, has grape vines providing protection from a light drizzle, if that’s not enough, there’s a shell of the garage still standing with tables under it. There’s a dart board for outside entertainment, a porch is also there as soon as you walk out. A cool water fountain is also back there. It’s own little world exists back there. Connected to the bar is the pizza shop, accessible from the front or inside the bar. This pizza is some of the best in Cleveland, actually I’m gonna go so far as to say it is the best. Honey packets available upon request, I think they even charge 25 cents nowadays! which is bullshit! but worth it. There’s always local artists, photographers work posted up for sale. You can catch some real cool paintings, drawings, or photos here. Great beer selection. Fruity, fancy, or cheap, they got what you need. I have so many great memories in this place, some have no place in Unilocal. If you’re looking for a relaxed place to go in Tremont, this is it. Imagine it 5x better when you’re there, that’s how it was 2 – 3 yrs ago when we were regulars, before management changed. It’s still cool though.
