Fred’s has become one of several small locally owned stores that I go to for inexpensive groceries before resorting to the large grocery store chains. Yes, most of their stuff is overstock or rejects, but it is always within date(or day old — but always labeled as such) and I have never had any quality issues. You can stock up on bread and other baked goods from reliable local bakeries for less money. They also have an ever changing and expanding selection of groceries including snacks, dry goods, condiments, milk and nonalcoholic beverages, limited dairy, fresh produce, hot dogs, brats, bacon and various frozen goods. I always look around to see what’s new. Great place to stretch a budget.

Not a bakery. They sell the bread that other stores pull from their selves to sell cheaper. The bread is still good, but it maybe past its date. Sometimes maybe cheaper than other stores, sometimes more expensive. They don’t always have the same inventory either, so if you buy a loaf the next time they may not carry the same loaf. Staff has always been friendly and helpful

They don’t bake anything here, but it’s a great place to get cheap bread [some is near the expiration date] from Schwabel’s, Orlando and a couple other bakery brands. However, don’t expect anything that would satisfy a foodie, nothing is whole-grain or organic besides whole-grain english muffins. There’s also plenty of the high fructose corn syrup treats like tastycakes, jelly-filled pies, twinkies, cupcakes, Ho-ho’s, and snoballs. Also, there’s an aisle or two of some random grocery items like condiments, soda, bouillon, and cereal. Located here for over 20 years, the people at the counter are always pleasant when I stop by and it’s a great place to stop by for some treats [especially if you want a sugar high] before you visit the zoo just a few blocks away.
