Our family stopped in for an early dinner while on vacation in the area. An appetizer of fried green beans were a hit with everyone. The fried chicken was cooked fresh to order and was really good. However, the mashed potatoes tasted instant, and my wife’s baked potato was overcooked like it was made earlier and had been kept warm for a long period. The atmosphere was cafeteria esque, but in a down home way. The wait staff were very nice and friendly.

Glenda’s is one of my favorite places to eat. They have the best bisquits in Cleveland. They also have a great lunch and dinner, good prices, home cooking and good servers. Very convenient in the mornings with the drive-thru. The food is real, not processed, homemade bisquits made from scratch every morning. If you’re in Cleveland GA and see a little«hole in the wall» restaurant, don’t judge this book by its cover, you’ll be sorry.

Out of towners visiting wine country up here in north ga. We loved glendas! I had a fried porkchop and he had a country fried steak. Mac and cheese and onion rings were delicious. Staff was friendly. Dont let looks of the place turn you away. Very good carb heavy food to soak away the wine tasting.

I honestly had to wait 35 minutes for a chicken club sandwich with fries. I finally get my order and the fries are cold. I mean after waiting that much time I was expecting it to be hot.

Found Glenda’s on Unilocal.I had the fried chicken livers, which were good but way over cooked. The fried okra was perfect though a bit greasy and the sweet potato was good. Husband had the chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes and corn on cob and said it was good. The gravy was tasty but could have been whipped a bit more. We will go back the next time we drive through.

Totally gross! This is the worst catfish ever, but server was nice. The food wasn’t done all the way.

Melt in your mouth chicken fried steak with white gravy! I only know, because my husband offered me a bite and I took ½. I had fried chicken and we shared that, too. Yummy. I would have given Glenda’s a 5, but the sides were mediocre. Both my potato and roll had been around too long. The service was excellent, and the price was right.

Glenda’s is one of those places you’d drive past 100 times and never notice it… unless it is around a meal time as alot of times cars are having trouble getting into the parking lot cause it is full of people eating there. This place doesnt stand out as far as the facilities but the food and service make that not even matter. Everything is good. I prefer the country fried steak(you get two big pieces) but they have all the country favorites. Anytime I’m in the area I’ll be stopping by Glendas.

Best chicken biscuits in the south! Seriously the best biscuits ever forget going to Chick-fil-A go to Glenda’s instead. It is worth the wait in the drive-through. She also makes good hamburgers and sandwiches in the sweet tea is really good as well.

Great food and very friendly! I had been traveling through NC and Atlanta for about 9 days and never really went out for good Southern cooking, so I was craving it on the way back. Unilocaling through Northern Georgia, nothing really stood out that didn’t have mixed reviews. Finally, time took it’s toll and Glenda’s popped up, seemingly a good choice. The food was everything I was looking for. My friend ordered the pork chop, which I didn’t expect to be fried, but after trying it I wish I had ordered it. My country fried steak was exceptional though. As was the mac ‘n cheese. The server was very good and even passed by once when we had a small bit left in our cups saying«Sorry, I didn’t mean to let your drinks get empty». The topper was when she brought us refills in to-go cups as we left! Should I ever be in the area again, I’ll certainly be stopping by.

Sunday 11 Oct 20157:30pm Cruising through Cleveland on the way from Atlanta to Brasstown Bald, found us a little place looked local. Inside seems fairly normal, like a local favorite, got some looks walking in I think we’re busted as travelers lol. Waitress was quick to the table and on point, she had good recommendations and didnt stumble on her words or thoughts. Salad bar was good, a local told me while in line, it’s always fresh ranch is made in house and you have to try the cake!.. Now we await the fried pork chops, homemade Mac and cheese, okra, and sweet potato with texas toast, and a lone fried chicken thigh. We shall see… Fried Chicken is Bad A, fried pork chop is Bad A, toast is Bad A… Okra was little soggy for my taste but tasty non less, Mac and cheese was aight not out of this world, sweet potato was a build your own with ramekins of the goodness. We shall eat this grub and ponder cake. After 5 cake options that change weekly we choose Italian Cream Cake, it was moist not too too sweet so all the icing could be eaten too mmm. A good choice for some home cooking while traveling should fill you up nicely and leave you satisfied. AND all for $ 20 The locals say if you can, you must eat breakfast here the biscuits are homemade. However, do not sit down and await service, breakfast is a order at the counter and sit and be served. Enjoy! Monday 12 Oct 201510:00am Took the locals advice and came back for breakfast. Drive thru line is around the building, people coming and going it’s crazy in here. We ordered the 2 egg medium with bacon, hash browns, biscuit with a side of sausage gravy, and 1 French toast. I can’t wait… Eggs were great, bacon was 4 slices wow, hash browns either bagged or boxed nothing amazing here, biscuit was bad A fresh homemade flaky wow, sausage gravy made easy biscuits and gravy without extra cost, French toast delightfully sweet mmm. AND all for $ 13. Just a note that last night’s dinner and today’s breakfast was easily split by the Mrs and I. Keep that in mind. This is a must visit for any traveling foodie.

Not my fav place to eat in Cleveland the people are rude to practically any woman with either a diamond ring or makeup they will purposely mess up your order because you’re more educated. The foods not even that good i hate this place and if you don’t notice when you go through the drive through the mops are disgusting and you can always count on finding the person who handled your food smoking a nice cigarette! So just know I’m a local and I don’t eat there so your welcome

I know it’s a local favorite but I’m not impressed. Slow service, limited menu, everything fried and more than likely frozen. They do have a pretty good salad bar but so does Ingles. I was told to try the cake, I can’t decide.

Another Unilocal find. We arrived on a Sunday during the first church rush so it was hard to get a table. A couple of teenagers volunteered to vacate theirs, having finished their meals. Very gracious. Service was a bit slow due to the rush but the server was efficient and friendly, taking the time to answer questions without seeming to hurry us. Plenty of options on the menu, but I chose a basic bacon cheeseburger. I wasn’t asked how I would like it cooked and I failed to specify. It came out well down, and thus very dry, making it probably the worst burger I’ve had in a while. Mustard would have helped but I didn’t see any on the tables and didn’t want to wait to ask our still-busy server. My wife just wanted some catfish, grilled, with a side of mashed potatoes, which the restaurant happily provided even though catfish/mashed potatoes wasn’t on the menu. Fish was excellent. The mashed potatoes were not as well received. I thought they were fine. Low prices.

It was such a treat to eat here tonight after two days of dealing with these Helen restaurants. I felt a world away even though we were only about nine miles from our Helen motel. The salad bar was very good. I got a dish that included one trip to the salad bar. You can fit so much into that bowl that my one trip would have been sufficient for my entire meal. Well then came the huge serving of BBQ pork and Texas toast that came with my one trip to the bar. My wife got the low priced veggie plate and added a trip to the salad bar and was very happy. We all enjoyed it. The place was jam packed on a Tuesday evening and we even had to wait for a table which should tell you something. The people were friendly. We found That so many people there knew we weren’t locals but were still very kind to us. If you’re staying in Helen for more than a night or two, I definitely recommend getting over here to Glenda’s for a dinner.

True southern comfort food. Loved it! Authentic and delicious. Don’t miss breakfast. Bacon thick and plentiful. Eggs over easy, perfect. Biscuits, heavenly. Note: if you’re looking for a healthy meal, stay away. If you re looking for yummy country cooking. This is your new favorite.

The staff here was super sweet and friendly. The restaurant was super crowded so it was a good sign for my friend and I when we ventured here after our two hikes of the day. I had the tilapia sandwich. You can get the baked or fried version. Mine was the baked version with lettuce, tomatoes, and pickles on Texas toast. You can pretty much build out the sandwich as you like. It came with a bag of chips and apparently 4 sauce options for the sandwich. lol. I’d def rec this sandwich as it was something diff and healthy. The waitress we had rec it too so I went for it. :) A good choice! This place closes at 9:30PM(on this particular Saturday night). Parking was more abundantly available towards the back. There was also a drive thru option here. Very interesting I must say.

Well I’m here at Glenda’s and I’m quite hungry. It’s an hour after lunch and it’s quite full. There are nice booths and tables with chairs for your seating preference. The staff seems lovely. Very friendly and on the ball. It’s also quite clean and organized. The menu wasn’t quite as veggie friendly as I would have liked. But if your looking for just southern vegetables you can make it work. For me it didn’t seem easy to add a meat of some sort to go along with my veggies. The atmosphere is quite local feeling, and appears to represent genuine Georgia folk. Having ordered veggies only, it does seem that my wait is quite lengthy, although the ice water came fast. While waiting you can hear country music in the background, and there are several tv’s playing country music videos which seems to fuel the sound. My food has arrived, and very hot at that. I don’t taste any fancy recipes, or anything out of the ordinary. Just regular plain tasting veggies that taste good on their on, and I quite like food prepared this way. This ends up being a very nutritious, healthy meal for your body. I had sweet potatoes, green beans, corn on the cob, Texas toast, and water. Overall a very enjoyable experience, I would defiantly stop by again for a feed anytime I’m in the area. Friendly 5⁄5 Clean 5⁄5 Speed of Service 3⁄5 Tasty Food 3⁄5
