Devastating surgical outcomes reported by many to the state medical board. Several lawsuits filed for med mal and fraud. Admitted to CMS investigators that only «one third» of his prostatectomy patients recovered sexual function. Cited for «performing» multiple simultaneous complex major surgeries beginning at same time (not over lapping) using doctors-​in-​training without patient consent. (Ghost Surgery) Falsely represented board certification. Represented false credentials, volume experience, and outcomes. Did not meet minimum requirements for falsely represented Iowa medical license. Entire urology department cited for having no credentialing of staff or residents and no privileging to use da Vinci. A Cleveland Clinic staff urologist reported a «staggering number» of patients were permanently harmed. Kaouk did not disclose conflict interest with Intuitive Surgical.
