Best meat in town. Don’t look any longer, here you’ll find the best prime«aged» meats. Aged perfectly for a super tender, juicy and flavorfull taste. Anytime I want a great steak I know where to go Metropolitan Market.

Previous posters are correct… as good as it gets in the CLE area. Finally a gourmet market that serves top-notch steaks, fish, sushi, desserts, pasta, and the best of locally-made stuff. There are also unique veggies(purple beans). I could have dropped a small mint in that place. It is nice to have this place on the East Side where I can pick up many things in one stop. If I ever got Über lazy and skipped cooking for a dinner party this place has some killer great options. Prices are high and they will put a dent in your wallet but if it is quality you seek then don’t worry about it and shop here. Prime filets $ 18.99 per pound. And sushi made-to-order.

The Metropolitan Market is awesome! Everything here is high quality. I’ve tried a lot of different things — some of my favorites are the sushi(so delicious — you really need to stop here before you go across the street to Heinen’s), the sushi salad, the cinnamon raison bread, the salmon, and the cheese spreads. Overall, Metro Market is on point! And conveniently located right at Lander Circle, next to a liquor store. Perfect.

Sushi this good at a small market«off the beaten path»…What a great little find for some healthy food, great pastas, meats and hand rolled sushi 6 days a week. Sushi choices are fantastic. I just moved my business into the neighborhood and I look forward to my sushi fix at least a couple days a week. If you don’t see what you like, they will make it for you on the spot! Can’t miss this place.

As good as it gets in Clev. I can say this place has very good quality fish. When I make sushi or sashimi this is where i go 1st. The scallops are divine. The salmon is always top notch. When you by fish they give you a lemon, I have never used the lemon on the fish because it is so dam good. I just cut it up and make lemonade. Their beef is pretty fantastic. Everything is high-end. And when you have high end you will have high prices. This is, a you get what you pay for type of place.

I like to watch the Barefoot Contessa on Food Network, mainly because she is the one show on the channel whose primary audience isn’t busy mothers and because she actually wants to challenge people to learn how to make interesting, unique and flavorful dishes. On the show, she makes everything happen with the help of a small phalanx of associates in the community – the butcher, the grocer, the florist, etc – most of whom know her on a first-name basis(or so the script says). Unfortunately, most of the grocery stores I go to around here are somewhat cold and impersonal. While I love going to Aldi’s and getting a king’s random of groceries for a mere pittance, I wish there was someone who could point out quality cuts of meat and suggest yummy things to eat that would, over time, grow to know my tastes and preferences. If I lived out in the eastern ‘burbs, I think that the Metropolitan Market could be that sorta place for me. The place is very, very small(no long, confusing aisles here!) and the selection is a bit limited – however, the products that they do carry are great. We went there with a Groupon($ 15 for $ 30 worth of groceries) that we used to purchase 2 sirloin steaks, 1\2 pound of scallops, veggies, and 2 pre-prepared twice baked potatoes. The owner even threw in a free lemon for our scallops! Using those ingredients, my wife whipped up a meal that was better that most meals I’ve had in restaurants in my lifetime. The sirloin was very, very high quality and the scallops were extraordinarily flavorful – best I’ve ever had! They also have a fantastic selection of pre-made frozen appetizers; if I wasn’t blessed to have a killer cook for a spouse, I would definitely like to pick up some of them for cocktail parties and other formal entertaining. Like everything else in the store, they’re a bit pricey, but I think they’d be worth the splurge once in a while. All in all, I was quite happy with my trip to the Metropolitan Market. Cleveland needs upscale grocery stores like this and I’m glad they’re there!
