I will preface this review by stating that I realize due to the nature of their business, it’s very possible that they can have an item in stock one minute and not the next. That said, onto the review: I was in need of a bigger bed. I had just sold my twin bed on Craigslist, and was excited to get a full size. I saw NEFD ad on CL, and called about the full size set for $ 99. Now I realize believe me, that for $ 99, I’m not supposed to expect omgluxury, and that’s okay. I just need the bigger area, and I have mattress toppers etc. The guy I spoke to said they had the mattress/box spring there, yes. I asked if we needed to bring tie-down rope, he said yes. An hour later, we arrived and on entering the showroom, I asked about the $ 99 set. «Oh, we don’t have *that one* in stock. I can sell you this one: $ 179/set but the other would take about 3 weeks to come in.» Um… I smell a case of bait and switch. I say as much to the sales guy, and here’s what really irked me. He shrugged and said, «Hey, it ain’t my company.» and walked off. Really? Nice customer service. So I turned around to leave. Whatever. I can get a cheap mattress set in a hundred other places, what do I care — but that kind of attitude toward customers? No, that I have to say something about. So I’m waiting in another area to talk to a manager and I look out and see rude salesguy on a cell phone(probably talking to said manager) and soon enough, salesguy comes in very brusquely and says he’ll give me the supposed $ 179 for $ 99. At that point, I honestly didn’t want to deal with the place anymore, but having been up for work since 4am, I figured what the hell, right? We pull up to the loading area and one of their stock guys put the set on top of my van and tied it down with their twine. Okay, so I now have rope to spare for my own projects I guess, no big deal. We get it home, and let me tell you — again, for $ 99 I don’t expect much. IF and that is a big IF he gave me a $ 179 set, which I know still isn’t omgluxury price, let me say that it is NOT a great mattress at all. I expect it will last me about 8 months, then I’ll have to get another one — and the mattress and box spring are not even the same dimensions. The box is about 1″ bigger than the mattress. Why? The mattress is thin and if I didn’t have a featherbed and mattress pad, I’d be feeling the springs, I’m sure. Overall I would not recommend this business. There is NOWARRANTY on any of their products unless the manufacturer’s warranty is extended to the purchaser SOASK before you lay out the cash. Like I said, the cheap quality is one thing. It’s a warehouse, and I wasn’t willing to spend much, so you often get what you(don’t) pay for, I know. But the rudeness and«whatever» attitude was uncalled for. Obviously«giving me a deal» wasn’t a problem so it should have been offered in a «Well, here’s what I can do for you today» manner instead of means of getting me out of the store before I could complain manner. I work in customer service and it’s as important today as it ever was in the past. All it takes is a little effort to turn a negative into a positive and leave a good, lasting impression of your business.

Although I have yet to decide if I’m going with Northeast or Building 9, my overall experience at Northeast was far more inclusive and promising than it’s competitors. I brought in a competitors computer generated drawing of what my kitchen remodel should look like… the sales associate(Shamess) pointed out a number of important factors that Building 9 failed to, they also offer more of a selection when it comes to kitchen cabinets and had some really nice furniture! I’m a little hesitant due to the other customer reviews but price wise, Northeast is only $ 100.00 more than Building 9 and Shamess was 10xs more knowledgeable about the product, all of its possible options and he actually listened to what my needs and concerns were. So so far, my only complaint is their crazy small and dangerous parking lot– seriously it is one of the worst parking lots ever!

We bought a bed from them before and liked the prices and selection so much we just bought another bed for our son. Their prices for name brand furniture is tough to beat.

Ooops, almost forgot to update this listing like I promised. Well, the delivery was scheduled for a Saturday not too long after I wrote the first review — probably about a month and a week after first buying the furniture. Um, it didn’t fit up the stairs. MAJORFAIL!!!(Not their fault obviously.) But, the delivery guy also mentioned there was a tear in one of the couches anyway. WTF? I have heard this from other reviewers, and this, I’m afraid, IS their fault — or at least someone’s fault other than mine. We also ordered a coffee table and two end tables which were brought up, and then(after some bitching by yours truly) put together. My husband was actually going to let the guy leave without assembling these tables. Are you kidding me? So, I’m in total bitch mode as usual. My sis-in-law is over for the weekend so we put her in charge of the baby while we march our asses to the store to pick out something else. Since we cleared out our entire living room and there was no furniture to sit on, we insisted that we get a floor model of something we are sure will fit in our apartment. We choose a sectional. Yes, it was more expensive than the couch and loveseat combo we chose earlier. Yes, that pissed me off. But we got it, not that day or on Monday like they said, but on Tuesday. I guess that was acceptable — I’ve come to have pretty low expectations when it comes to delivery estimates. Let’s put it this way: I am going to try my very hardest not to order any new furniture for a few years. It is a major pain in the ass. Would I order from here again? No, probably not. It was just too much run-around, not enough communication, and a huge hassle all around.

We purchased a couch here, and within a day or two one of the pillows was coming apart at the seams. We called and called and called. Smash-cut to a MONTH later my husband called them and«refused» to get off the phone until they took care of this issue. Well apparently this tactic worked, because he finally got a guy on the line who was willing to resolve our issue. He was trying to get out of replacing /repairing the pillow, but when threatened with the notion that we would just go up there and take a new cushion off the sales floor, he agreed to FedEx us a new one! It came within two days. I gave them three stars because they resolved my issue, but it should be more like 2.5 just due to the lack of customer service. These guys have some scathing reviews online. They really seem to know how to piss people off.
