I love this place. Fresh cake donuts with great options for toppings. I love the basic maple frosted donut and glazed.

This place and thier donuts are deceptively delightful. I bought a dozen and a half assorted. The sweet young lady made the donuts and artfully topped each donut with care. I was quite impressed. These little donuts are as the young lady put it «packed with flavor». I do not normally like cake donuts because of the heavy texture but, these little guy’s are light and crispy bringing an additional dimension to the flavor. If you are in area it’s a must stop.

Went to the rocky river location because i wanted to try someplace new and exciting and while the concepts and ideas are good they don’t deliver on ingredients all the sauces are store bought snickers syrups and the donuts are all uninspiring cake donuts and were all rather terrible I was excited about the maple and bacon donut because I had never had one audit was quite disappointing the bacon was not crisp and they put way too much bacon for a little donut it was all bacon I never put a review for anything but please don’t waste your money on these expensive little unappetizing donuts

Good lord! These doughnuts are amazing! So fresh and unbelievably tasty! I’m drooling thinking about it right now. If you’re in the area definitely stop in. Try the maple bacon, it’s made with real bacon and just the right combo of sweet and salty.

I love the uniqueness of this place. And the different variety of donuts. However, I did not give this place 5 stars due to the prices, they were rather high for donuts. I’m sure I’ll be back again, but I definitely won’t be rushing in.

This place really gouges the consumer for a birthday party. There is very little Peace, Love and Happiness when one feels like a sucker. My family got several different answers for the price per head, we ended up paying twice what we thought it would be in addition to being charged an automatic 15% gratuity, WHAT? This is a donut shop. They do not provide the type of service that you would receive at a restaurant to warrant an automatic gratuity for a party. I’ve also had issues in the past with the consistency and quality of their product. I’ve found their manager would rather win the battle with a customer and lose the relationship, this person has a lot to learn about management in the service industry. I will not be back to this establishment.

I have had their donuts many times, a coworker brings them in and they are good but sometimes there is too much topping for the little donut and it gets over powered. I didn’t realize the price until recently and I think they are overpriced for the size of the donut. Great size for kids and if you are only getting one or two the price shouldn’t be an issue. So far my favorite is the maple bacon.

Only had the funkadellic donuts but every flavor was amazing. Good smoothies, great atmosphere, and welcoming staff made for a great first breakfast on our trip to Cleveland. Definitely coming back next time we’re here

Went to this place in Rocky River after my wife had tasted what she termed«the best lemon donut that I have ever had» from the Canal Fulton location. Since it was mothers day and the RR location was much closer to our house, we decided to go there instead. My wife went in and made the order while I stayed in the car with our baby. She said that while she was there the oil had overheated and was smoking– making her asthma flare up. But we appreciated the care it took to make the donuts individually to order. When she came back, she had 8 donuts including two of the vaunted lemon donuts and one lemon raspberry donut. They were warm from the frying and I couldn’t wait to take a bite. The donut was crisp and tasty for a cake style donut, but there was literally NOLEMONFLAVOR on the donut. I smelled it to make sure and asked my wife if she might have gotten a glazed donut instead. No, she said, she was sure she’d ordered lemon. I gave her a bite of mine. She agreed, this was completely different from the other donut she had from the other location. Ok, no biggie, maybe they made a mistake and gave us the wrong donut. Worse things have happened so I took the donuts and went back inside. When I told the girl at the counter that there must have been a mistake, that these were not lemon donuts she insisted that they were and that she had dipped them herself. I offered her one of the uneaten lemon donuts to taste or smell to verify for herself but she refused. She did ask if I wanted to replace the donut with another flavor but the reason that we had come was for the amazing lemon donuts and she said that there was no way that she had used the wrong kind of glaze and that she was sure that these were the real lemon donuts. «Ok» I said and walked out. Now let me say, I rarely ever give negative reviews especially to small businesses. But it was really unfortunate that this young lady was so sure that she couldn’t have made a simple error about what glaze she had used. I mean, if there is the wrong glaze in the lemon bin, you should darned well find out. I’m not exaggerating here– there was literally no lemon flavor in the glaze, nothing like the bright, zest enhanced tart glaze that my wife had at the other branch. Ultimately, if a customer has issues like this, you would be wise to at least investigate before dismissing him completely. You’ll just piss off dozens of customers down the line who were expecting a premium lemon donut. The other donuts were fine, I liked the maple bacon one and the hazelnut coffee was decent as well, but I was pretty angry about what transpired in the restaurant and I do not plan to go back there. We will be making the extra drive to go to the one at Canal Fulton which seems to get better reviews anyways.

Amazing donuts — and service — for our wedding reception party last September! I planned our wedding reception from across the country(my husband and I live in California but we’re originally from Cleveland), and I’m so glad I worked with the owner and had these donuts as our dessert for a brunch wedding reception. My friends and parents did a taste test of multiple donut shops in the area, and PLLD was a clear winner. The prices here are reasonable because you are getting high quality, gourmet donuts — not something mass produced at a factory and shipped across the country like other shops. The owner helped me plan how many donuts to order for the amount of guests, and adjust that according to our budget. I came in a week before the wedding and went over options. They had multiple types of stands that we could choose from to display the donuts. They delivered and set up at our venue that morning. Very very helpful and professional.(And trust me, a lot of wedding vendors do not live up to that standard!) And for the flavors. We mixed it up from simple to extravagant: — Cinnamon sugar — Ginger sugar — Honey glazed — Vanilla frosting — Maple frosting — Lemon frosting — Banana pudding — Oreos and chocolate — Maple bacon — Strawberry shortcake — Raspberry lemonade — Orange creamsicle Everyone loved them! There were leftovers, which was more than okay by me because we had a yummy breakfast and dessert for the next few days. I cannot highly recommend them enough for your party or wedding!

I’ve had donuts from this place at a couple local events and they were ok little donuts, so I recently decided to stop in the shop and get a dozen for the family to have on a Sunday. The shop is cute(1960s psychedelic theme) and would be fun to eat in with kids, teens or music lovers, except when I visited there was a little kids’ birthday party going on in there with«donut bar» that took up the booths and pretty much the entire store, making it hard for people who weren’t there for the party to get around the shop and order. On the plus side it’s a cute concept for a kids’ party, and the donuts are«child sized» already. On the minus side it would be better if they hosted parties either in a part of the store space or outside normal hours(or closed the shop to regular customers when a large party was booked). I discovered that this place is a chain and the concept is basically Cold Stone Creamery with donuts — there are about 100 ingredients that they’ll put on a small(2 bite size) plain fried cake donut for you, ranging from sugars, frostings, fillings etc. The menu is up on a far back wall and isn’t easy to read from the distance of the counter, plus the number of decisions as to what you want on each of your donuts is kind of a lot. If I went again I would look at their website in advance and write down the combos I wanted to get before actually going to the place. It would also be helpful if they had some type of ordering checklist where you could just check the ingredients you wanted on a donut, or better yet an automated kiosk. They had several featured holiday donuts out on the front counter and I thought those would be a good choice, only to be told«we don’t have that color frosting melted so we can’t make them.» ?? It’s not a good plan to feature items that you don’t have the ingredients to make, especially when you have like I said 100 things on the menu. In the end I decided to just pick some simple frosted and pre-made donuts so I didn’t have to stand there for 20 minutes choosing combinations. The donuts were decent but the price for a dozen is high — as much as 12 dollars, which is a lot for little bitty donuts. The pricing is really hard to figure out too — one price for a sugar, higher price for topping, higher price for filling, then there seem to be specialty ones priced the highest of all. Really hard to estimate what your bill is going to be if you’re ordering more than a couple. To sum up: Cute place if you just want to sit with your kids or your friends, and pick out a half dozen wacky donuts and eat them(and there isn’t a party going on in there when you want to go). Or if you happen to find their pre-made donuts on sale at an event in the area. Not so good for a quick stop to pick up a dozen donuts for work or for the family due to too many choices and high prices. For that I’d rather go to a place with fewer choices but they’re all made up already and the donuts are adult-sized rather than kiddie-sized.

The staff is very friendly. The donuts taste great and the setup is a lot like Cold Stone Ice cream where you can choose the toppings that you want.

Stopped in today and really loved the décor and atmosphere of the shop. Donuts were good but definitely over priced. 15 bucks for a dozen little donuts is pretty steep. The maple bacon donut was great. Due to the price though I probably wouldn’t make this place part of my routine.

The donuts were very small and the price was a little big for such a tiny Donuts. Some of the types of donuts were a little out there and not to my liking. Were cold but surprisingly tasty. I did not enjoy the hippie vibe. The coffee is mediocre at best and not worth the money. I would rather go to Starbucks for the price. The staff was nice and helpful but I still was not impressed with this restaurant. I will not come here again. But it was worth a try

My daughter loves this place. A tad expensive but there are coupons out there that make it a good deal. The cake doughnuts are a tad dense for what I like but good. Topping are the same as you will find in most places but do the job. The kids working are always fun and sweet. They have a huge Stones poster on the wall and the music is always good. Only drawback it the oil smell from cooking those little buggars make my clothes reek after I leave. Fryer oil need a ventilated hood…

I love the concept of this place. The donuts are decent & they make a good mocha. I just honestly think it’s overpriced for a two bite donut. The donuts are small! Spending $ 1& some change EACH on a tiny donut with toppings is a bit much & can really add up. Not only that but some of the toppings that they offer can make the donuts overly sweet! I think this place is worth trying once especially if you have kids but, the tiny donuts aren’t really anything to make me keep wanting to go back for.

My eyes initially lit up when I went to PLLD. Specialty donuts? HELLYES. There I was, buying a dozen of their funkadelic donuts(or whatever the gourmet ones are called), picking among unique flavors of s’mores, samoas, cap’n crunch, and more… only to be left with utter disappointment. Each and every donut was stale and way, way too sweet. The only special donut I liked was their butterscotch one, and that was still way too sweet. The other thing I liked was the hot, fresh out of the fryer cinnamon sugar donut they let me sample before ordering. Great flavor, great texture, and not as stale or overpriced as the specialty donuts. Which is a shame because if you’ve found yourself reading this review, you were probably interested in the fancy shmancy donuts like me. Don’t be fooled. It’s just a gimmick. If you want something that tastes like something else, just forgo the something and get that something else, at least in this case. It was fun at first to see which of the donuts tasted like their namesake, but when you get to the 5th or 6th donut and not one of them taste like what they say they are, you start regretting the past 3 minutes of your life(yes 3, I eat fast and these are really small). And don’t trick yourself into thinking these are more diet-friendly because they are tiny. The sheer amount of toppings will make up for anything lost in the size. I’m not one to complain about sweetness especially in a type of food that is supposed to be sweet, but these were too damn sweet.
