This place is really cool! They have a great cocktail menu and food to match their tiki bar feel. The nachos were incredible and the oysters were done perfectly. They have a great patio seating area with a fireplace. The music is always great. It’s really nice to have a tiki bar in Cleveland and Porco delivers on having a unique experience and quality food and drinks. I would recommend Porco again, especially for a happy hour or late night with a group of friends!

So from the outside of the place it doesn’t look like much but once you go inside it has a nice and cozy tiki lounge feel. The service was very good and all of our drinks was surprisingly excellent, the bourbon coffee drink, forgot the name of it but was top notch drink! Must also order the nachos which were large and fantastic! They also have a outdoor back patio.

Fun little spot with STRONG drinks. Our service was slooooooooooow, but our waitress seemed to be doing her best. Luckily the drinks were so strong the one round ended up being worth the wait. I forget the name of my drink, but I think it had monkey in the name, had a banana flavor, and was not too sweet. Veryyyyyy easy to suck down. We didn’t eat, but the food smelled great. My biggest complaint was the temperature. Holy cannoli, it had to have been over 90 degrees in that place. I’d hate to be at this place in August. Invest in a better a/c or get some fans or windows that open, please!

Very busy on weekend nights, I think the move is to get there early and get a table. Food looks really good, drinks were super strong. Fun vibe, will be back. Bit of a struggle to get a drink but expected.

Porco is a hip, intimately lit, blink-and-you’ll-drive-right-past wonderland, full of sultry, bizarre décor choices(the vast array of surreal tiki mugs lining the walls, for instance, have to be seen to be believed – ditto the looming torsos on the wall by the underground bathrooms) and boasting some of the absolute best(and fall on your face strong) cocktails you’ll ever hope to find in Cleveland… or anywhere else for that matter. As other reviewers have noted, the menu is diverse and rather cryptic. Thankfully, the staff are quick to make recommendations based on not only what you like, but on what you’ve been drinking already(the latter one of those touches that makes them seem like flavor magicians, does it not?): Dan, a Hawaiian-shirt clad, bespectacled master of all things carribean and rum-powered, explained the origins of the Polynesian drinks – as it turns out they’re based on ancient beachcomber recipes. The Mai Tai, caringly constructed with PL’s housemade almond cordial, is frighteningly delicious and easy to drink, while managing to remain knock-your-glasses-askew potent. For Raoul Duke devotees, the Singapore Sling with Mescal on the side is also a winning combo. It should be noted that the music loops through three-five good ol’ surf rock favorites a bit too quickly, however, though those who dig Pulp Fiction’s soundtrack shan’t be disappointed in the selections. Relatedly, try to keep an ear and eye out for the bartenders’ Mai Tai chant which conjured up a jaunty image of those waiters in Broom of the System shouting all together, «Oh, Gilligan!» In the end, PL should be way up on the list of bars to visit before you croak. Try the $ 35 drink you can only order once a night, and clue us in on what sort of magical madness it inspires in you.

Every time I’ve been here I feel like I’m on vacation. The atmosphere definitely chases the blues right out of you! Everywhere you look, every nook and cranny boasts of eye-catching tiki inspiration! If you’re lucky enough to grab a seat at the bar, you better make the stay last a while. These bartenders certainly know their craft. Each drink is expertly, dare I say, PASSIONATELY created. If they have the time to chat it up with you, you’ll find that everyone is well-versed in the art of tiki-style drinks. They can give you a full background story on every drink listed in the menu. This place gets packed. Parking is limited. I don’t know that there is ever a good time to come. Seating is first come first serve(inside and out). You may have to stand for a while until seating becomes available. It’s the ONLY downside, but it goes to show that this place is getting a bad-ass repertoire all around town. You need to definitely add this to your bookmarks!

Hidden gem. You would not think this place was great from the outside but inside the atmosphere is unlike anything in Cleveland. The back patio is amazing as well. The drinks here are super strong and hand crafted. Actually the drinks alone are a unique experience. I had the level 3 painkiller and BoY did it knock my pain from 10 to 0! Some drinks have dry ice for the cool fog effect. We ordered the nachos and they were giant and delicious. I also had my first oyster. Delicious! I would recommend this place to anyone. The staff was also extremely attentive and nice!

So I’m an Olé faithful at Porco. John is my favorite bartender! My favorite drink is the pain killer level2… but when I’m with my friends we have the scorpion bowl time to time. It all tastes great and will leave you with a great buzz!!! They don’t have much of a food selection but they do have bomb nachos(huge portion) and a good black bean quesadilla. Great atmosphere. There’s always a crowd so depending on what kind of atmosphere u like, you might want to go early! :)

Fun little tiki joint surprisingly found in Cleveland! I came in with fellow Unilocaler Lauren K after a very very long day at work. It was one of those days where nothing would make you feel better then to be 3 drinks in and feeling«happy»! Which is exactly where Porco excels with drinks that are more than helpful in forgetting the stresses of the day. While we came in mostly to drink, Painkiller #2FTW! We also enjoyed their fantastic chorizo tacos and GINORMOUS«everything in the kitchen» nachos! Thank God we chose to eat some food early on because after our 3 drinks a piece we were feeling«happy». Will be coming back for sure for some more drinks when the weather is nice because they have a pretty large and nice patio area. Also make sure to check out the Singapore Slings and Painkillers you won’t regret it until the morning!

One of my favorite little places, only have been a few times. I heard the patio is great so once warm weather arrives we will be back to check that out! Different drinks, come in different styles.(Very strong) so it’s ok for the drinks to be a bit pricey! Happy Hour is really nice! Very cool atmosphere! Ohio City needed something like this! Love the vibe Porco gives. Great service, every time!

Look, there are not many places where you can eat nachos bigger than your face and your drink is served in a fake coconut. Porco is a cool place. The vibe is very specific. It’s dark, a little warm and has luau décor everywhere. Nothing like this place exists in Cleveland. Unilocaler Allie C and I decided to check Porco out after a long day, and were seated right away when we adventured in at 8pm on a Friday night. When it comes to food and drink, I’m not terribly picky, but I like to know what I’m in for. The menu is huge, but the descriptions are super vague(tastes like summer! Tastes like key lime! Etc.). There’s certain booze I know I love and don’t love(rum), so this made me a bit nervous. I have to give Porco 4-stars because the service was excellent. I sent two drinks back(something I’ve never done in my life!) because they were just too rum-alicious for me. She reiterated that they wanted us to be happy with our drinks… and to me, that says something strong about their customer service! They also got our food to us extremely quickly, which included the largest nachos I’ve ever seen in Cleveland(the«closing time» nachos), and was more than enough for two people. Overall, I don’t think Porco is a place you can go to often, but if you do, just plan your sugared hangover accordingly! Its an off the beaten path bar for something more unusual.

Meh. I found most of their drinks to be really sour. I’ve been here a couple of times and by the end of the night, I always end up going with my old stand-by of bourbon on the rocks. I’m not sure if it’s Porco’s problem or if I can’t tolerate complicated cocktails. The atmosphere is great, the service is friendly, and the food menu is pretty decent. I love that they will give you the private room for free if you make reservations for a large group.

Don’t be fooled by the exterior or location of this place as they serve some amazing tiki drinks in a very cool atmosphere. This is one of those places where getting a drink does take some time as the bartenders are meticulous in mixing up memorable cocktails. The painkiller seemed to be a favorite amongst the group though I enjoyed the fog Cutter. Lots of good options though we did not try the food. The only drawback was that the bartenders were not feeling the tiki theme. They were very busy and seemed a little stressed with the crowd. Would not keep me from coming back.

Stopped in here on Valentine’s Day for my first visit. Really cool concept. The menu was pretty extensive so I had the bartender make me something that wasn’t too sweet. I wasn’t the biggest fan but boy did it knock me on my ass. I couldn’t believe how drunk I got. These drinks pack a punch. I’ll definitely be back to try something more of my liking.

First off, this place is not cheap. That being said, it’s a really cool, fun relaxed place to have good food and serious drinks. The nachos are huge and the black bean quesadilla is delicious.

I went here for a happy hour with some coworkers, and it was so much fun. The atmosphere was great, the service was top-notch and the food/drinks were amazing. I had a couple of different drinks, and 2 of them did me in(very strong but you can’t tell because they are so delicious — that is probably why they are so dangerous). The presentation of the food and drinks was so original as well.

If you are looking for a very high quality tiki drink, served by knowledgeable & funny servers, in a hip and funky atmosphere, Porco is your place! These drinks are not for the faint of heart. These are some seriously STRONGASS M-FING DRINKS!!! I had the Limon D(similar to a key lime pie) and my husband had the Painkiller Level 2, Hurricane and Heart of Darkness. All drinks were top notch, hand-crafted and incredibly tasty. These are not your typical overly sweet beach drinks. Every ingredient is fresh and perfectly balanced. Really, do yourself a HUGE favor and visit Porco for a really amazing time…(make sure you don’t have to wake up early the next day!!!). Pro tip: go early, if you can. We arrived around 4:30 and it was half full. By 7:00 it was completely packed, including the outside patio!

We came to Porco Lounge for a friend’s surprise birthday celebration last week, so we probably had a much different experience than the majority of people. We were in the tiki room, which is a private room covered in tropical décor definitely keeping with the theme. When we arrived, one of the bartenders came in and told us the history of the place along with some stories about some of the decorations(as they came from one of the original tiki bars in Cleveland in the 70’s). He then proceeded to give us a run-down of the(SUPER extensive) drink menu which I thought was very helpful. I, in going with the suggestion of the bartender, ordered the Planet of the Apes for my first drink. It was tropical and fun– I really liked all of the fun ornaments that came with the drinks– but it wasn’t «special.» For $ 13 I had hoped for something that would knock my socks off! My second drink was the Zombie which definitely had more of a show-stopping appeal. It came out smoking like a swamp, and definitely packed a punch. They told us that they would only serve 2 per person each night… I think by anyone’s third they might be a zombie themselves! This is a drink I would recommend over the fancy, fruity things. Overall, we had a fun experience but things seemed a little disorganized(obviously this had a lot to do with the fact that there were 30 of us there ordering at the same time), and the drinks seemed pretty expensive to me, but I think they are a novelty and can charge as such

I went on a Thursday evening to celebrate a work raise and bonus. It was empty when we arrived around 7pm, but it quickly picked up. Drinks were just as good amd strong as I remembered. I ordered the Navy Grog, Fogg Cutter, and Roman Twist. The Navy Grog was a bit too sweet. The Fogg Cutter was my favorite that night with a great balance of sweet, citrus, and funk(the dry ice certainly didn’t hurt either). The Roman Twist was my least favorite(overwhelmingly nutty). My date ordered the Mai Tai(classic), Planet of the Apes, and Cleveland PK. First one was sweet. Second one reminded me a banana laffy taffy. The cleveland PK was his favorite — great use of cognac. We also order the nachos, which were a great snack. Service at the bar was great as usual — attentive, friendly, and good conversation.

This place is fantastic! Such a cool, hip and laid back atmosphere and fancy potent drinks! I strolled in here on a Saturday night with fellow Unilocalers Soua L, Steve L, and P.W. Inside, it’s all tiki everywhere with some hip background music. Service was really good and the drinks came out pretty quickly. We ordered a Mai Thai, Zombie, Painkiller, and I think one more, but I don’t remember. We all shared the drinks and they were fantastic and very strong! Especially the Zombie! You’ll definitely need a DD or an Über after a night of drinking here. The drinks are a bit pricey, but the amount of liquor they put in them makes it a-okay! The fancy fruit, umbrellas and dry ice in the drinks made for a nice presentation. I haven’t tried the food there, but the menu looked pretty small… just some tacos and little munching snacks from what I recall. Overall, I had no complaints and I’ll definitely stop in again! 162 previous Unilocaler reviews can’t be wrong! Live it up and stop in to Porco. Cheers!
