I really liked this Starbcuks. It’s location is extremely convenient, ecspecially for the typical theater– goer. My coffee was up to my standards and the unique aspect of the balcony really added to the coffee shop. It does tend to get crowded but it is just because it is in a busy area. I’ve never had an issue with Starbucks but this, by far, was the worst experience I’ve ever had at any Starbucks. It all had to do with the employees. I was going to see the wizard of oz at the state theatre and decided I needed a coffee because I worked an overnight shift at the hospital. I was encountered by the rudest cashier here. She yelled«hellloooooo. I could help the next person ovah heeeeeeeerreeee!» When I went to place my order, as I am saying my order, she was just shaking her head back and forth. She kept doing it and then said«ummmm I’m not ready. Im slow. Hold on.» I stopped, took a deep breath so the ghetto that lies deep in me wouldn’t cuss her out, and smiled. She then took my order with an attitude and handed my receipt. No «thank you». Didn’t take my name. No «have a nice day». NOTHING. Then I had to wait like 20 minutes because there was an outrageous line for coffee and the baristas couldn’t keep up. I won’t go to this Starbucks ever. If I need coffee I would go elsewhere or settle for a Monster drink from a gas station. The people at a gas station might just have better customer service skills. Starbucks needs to look into this location. I feel like I was in the urban version of the wizard of oz. end scene!

My only gripe about this Starbucks location was it was exceptionally busy and for some reason it got backed up. I have been at other Starbucks where there was a crowd and it wasn’t as chaotic. I feel like I had to wait longer than normal however the drinks were exactly what we wanted and with that, I am happy.

I love this Starbucks, yes it gets busy and crowded at times but it moves quickly and the people who work here are awesome! I mean every single person is so nice but I’ve specifically dealt with Josh and Mollie and they are both so kind. Spacious seating upstairs, and a couple of smaller tables downstairs. There is a Starbucks much closer to me, but I always find myself walking the extra ¼ mile to come to this one — so worth it!

Save yourself from not getting what you ordered and bad service. I used to frequent this Starbs simply because of the fact that it’s close to school for me. There are only a handful of employees here and obvious bad management. Everyone who works here has an attitude and will not attest to giving you what you ordered. I have been here countless times with small orders from my coworkers and I’ve always felt obliged to ask my coworkers to keep it simple and apologize in advance for not getting them what they order. The second I mention to the barista about a special on the order(I.e. Soy milk, no whip) they snap back with a rude comment and give it regardless of the special instructions. The managers here do a poor job of managing the staff because they often encourage the use of earbuds, inappropriate side conversations, and strong attitudes… WHILE taking orders at the line!!! Do yourself a favor and make the trip to public square or w. 6th for a better experience.

Its Starbucks. Across the street from playhouse square, they should have more staff before the shows the handle the rush, but that is that is pretty typical of SB. Pastry case was basically empty, two or three items. Drinks were fine though and baristas were pleasant. there seemed to be someone who looked like a manager who was not helping, just walking around getting in the way slowing the two who were working down.

These people here be hatin’ on this starbucks! I liked it tho. I went after seeing the Peking Acrobats at playhouse square. It was a great show! Then I got a mocha and my friend got a green tea latte. I paid with my starbucks gold card. There were only two chairs and two dudes sitting there. And I was like«hah! This Starbucks has 2 chairs» and then I was like«oh there’s a loft!» It was cute up there. It was open until 11:00 that night. Both employees were super friendly. The drinks were delicious. I never went there again.

As far as starbucks goes it’s pretty typical. I am white starbucks fan and travel all over the country for work, so naturally I have been to tons! This one is easily the worst. There is always a line out the door. Always a few employees standing behind the counter doing absolutely nothing and if that wasn’t enough they are some of the rudest people I have ever encountered. It is very clear they are the only coffee shop downtown. They also haven’t had whipped cream for about a week. Also No green stoppers the whole time I’ve been here! Luckily I’m only in Cleveland. If I lived in this area Id save a lot of money making my own coffee Seattle would be disappointed!

When I used to come to Cleveland several years ago this Starbucks was great. But in the last 2 years they have had an a-hole of a manager that sets the tone for the crew. Full of bad attitude baristas. I needed to ring up 2 things separately one for me and one for my friend. The barista had a major attitude and said I’ll do it this time only in a nasty tone of voice with a glare in his eye.(I heard another customer call him Justin, I am surprised he was friendly enough to a single customer to make a friend) Damn, I have been treated shitty enough in this Starbucks. Why should I fork over 5 dollars for a drink to be treated all shitty. I will never go back again. The Starbucks closer to public square is so much better and the crew is so friendly and great to customers, shame they are rarely open. If public square is open, avoid this horrible playhouse square location like the plague, they are absolutely not worth it.

Walked in(place is empty) went to the front to look at the menu(have trouble seeing from afar) and immediately barked at by a sloven barista for not ‘standing in the right place, and told to go stand over by the register man.’ Told the barista he could keep the damn coffee and walked off. If you’re that rude and put off by a customer looking at the menu you don’t deserve my business and you’re lucky we’re in a building with cameras. Terrible!

Across from the theaters at Playhouse square. Early AM visit. Place was rockn’, so were the baristas. Great service, good music. They have a large sitting area on the second floor.

It’s starbucks right. they should all have the same star rating… NOPE. This is the worst Starbucks in the Cleveland area. maybe the worse I’ve been to(including airport, target, and turnpike locations.) They never seem to get my order right… They always seem rude/annoyed that I’m asking for service. and I usually end up leaving feeling like I was a bad customer for some reason. when in all reality I’m probably one of the nicer people. My biggest issue with this location is the staff. I can’t seem to find anyone there who isn’t rude/annoyed…

Good stuff: Well, it’s Starbucks, so you know what you’re getting. It’s dependable, etc. But other than that, the upstairs area is money for meetings. In fact, most everyone up there is always having a meeting. You don’t feel like you’re interrupting anyone’s study time. The service is also always really nice, and even chatty at times – but no with each other, with the customers. There are a lot of regulars who come in to this particular location. Speaking of location, here’s the not so good: Parking is non-existent, unless you want to pay to park in a garage. And, maybe it’s just me, but I’m not really looking to make an $ 8 investment to park for an hour long meeting. I’ve been lucky enough to find street parking twice, but trust me, it’s rare. Also, I’m not in that neighborhood very often, so it’s not easy for me to get to. Plus, it’s Starbucks. There’s much better coffee locally-roasted and brewed ’round the Cleve. Try Phoenix, Rising Star, etc., etc. So many other, better choices. So, overall – it’s OK, but there’s better.

It’s a nice location. Not one to come to unless you work or go to school within walking distance however as there is no parking lot specifically for it. Big upstairs seating area. Stairs are to left of counter. Restrooms are locked; keys are usually kept to left of counter attached to a blender lid.

I love this place. The staffs are really Kool and friendly. At times it is busy when there some event going on. NO complaints about this place. Whenever you enter the store, they always treat you politely and make sure you get the best coffee drink.

This location was busy(line was out the door and onto the sidewalk) but they kept the line moving and still maintained their friendly service. Very good staff.

While the staff was very kind, and the gentleman behind the counter was great, I had an issue with the way the beverage was prepared. I ordered a shaken iced green tea. The barista, a woman between 5’2″ and 5’6″ from what I could tell, refused to make it to standard. I requested that it be shaken, which is the standard for the beverage regardless. She scoffed, and said she had shaken it. There was no foam, I asked if she could do so again. In the cup she swirled it around. I hadn’t seen the start, so I assumed that she just didn’t shake hard enough. When I got a refill my initial thoughts were confirmed. She had poured directly into my glass and not used the shaker. As a former barista at Starbucks whose favorite drink is the shaken Iced tea, and as HQ and the book that teaches how to make the drinks to spec will tell you. The drink should be shaken, in the shaker, a minimum of 10 times. It drastically changes the flavor of the drink. What really gets me more than anything was the contemptible attitude that she had about it and refusal to do it to standard when I asked her to.

This friendly theater district Starbucks location is as good as they get. In the Starbucks tradition, the barista’s all seem to understand that it isn’t about the coffee – it is about the service! Although the lines sometimes get long at peak times, they keep it moving and are always cheerful and helpful to the customers. This location is built into the corner of E. 14th and Euclid Avenue, just in the heart of Cleveland’s up & coming theater district. There are a few tables downstairs, but a spacious upstairs balcony provides space to relax into comfortable chairs or some privacy to conduct a meeting over your latte or chai tea. Parking is at a premium right now with ongoing construction of E. 14th street, but when completed, it should provide some spaces to stop and run in for a quick cup of java from a friendly barista! A unique find for this ubiquitous chain.

No better or worse than any other Starbucks. Can be a bit busy given its location, but the staff have always been friendly and helpful. It’s a bit smaller on the inside so table space is limited. My biggest gripe is the parking, or lack thereof. You can circle the block 20 times before you find a spot. You’re better off walking here, if possible.

This Starbucks is conveniently located in the Hanna Building at the corner of 14th and Euclid. I used to work 7 or so stories up for Great Lakes Publishing and I loved to escape down here when I needed a break from the tiny cube that I was given as an intern. Seating is limited, but they have a few couches and I believe were adding some 2nd story seating a year or two ago. The staff was always friendly and handled the masses of stressed out business people quite well. They always had up a board with polaroids of the current people on staff, and always had a «person of the week» with some fun facts.
