Subway

«Hey y’all, welcome to Subway. I’ll be with you in just a quick minute.»
I can’t say I’ve ever been greeted like that walking into any Subway, I’m more used to the «yeah sure ok hey» «yeah what bread or whatever» or my personal favorite, the
…death stare…
(WHY did you come in WHAT could you possibly want MAYBE if I just stare at you and don’t say anything you’ll turn around and I’ll have avoided yet another sandwich creation I could care less about.)
Not only was I greeted with the utmost of southern kindness, we engaged in a conversation about how he tries to guess people’s order by the way they stare at the meats when they walk in, and he even described, in great detail, his favorite sandwich creation. There was a lot of bacon involved.
And, for the first time in I don’t know how long — I was offered double meat and double cheese. Though I did not take him up on that offer, it’s still nice to know it is available for those super hungry afternoons or evenings.
Besides that, sandwich was delish, and my drink was a monster — they were out of regular sized cups so I got a literacola (well, litera half sweet half unsweetened iced tea) at no extra charge.
It’s nice to pop in a subway and meet people that really like their work — one of the things about driving through the south that I really do enjoy.

While it IS a chain, this location is one of the good ones. I have been in other Subways where I want to jump behind the counter and make my own sandwich because the sandwich maker is brain dead. Not the case in Cleveland, they are efficent.
The staff is friendly, and recognize us as weekday regulars. They move the line along fast and with a smile.
If you are in the area and want a Subway sandwich, stop in.

Very good chain location. Friendly staff, always a crowd, but they keep the line moving along well, unlike others we have been to. Nothing unique on the menu, but it IS a chain after all. Great service sets it apart from others, but it is predictable fare.
