Total dive bar. Clueless staff who clearly don’t want to work, so don’t you dare bother them. No class about the place. Homeless people all around the restaurant begging for food. The inside is dark, musty and dirty. I have a feeling it hasn’t been cleaned since 1948 when the Indians last won a World Series. The food? Awful. Stale chips. Dirty plates. Overcooked burgers. They were low on everything. Clearly it is a hangout for the drunks. Do not advise walking through the

After the Indians game we went there. Place ok. You can tell that bartender was upset. Ordered a bucket of beer. Decided to order some food. Gentleman came over and stated telling the people behind the bar to change the tv outside and they would not be kept waving his hands and arm and he was standing beside me. No one made sure everyone was ok. He was very upset. I felt like some thing wSs going to happen got out if there quickly. By the way the bartender walked off the job. Who is running this place.

Fun spot to watch a game! They play the sound, so that’s nice. It’s typically pretty crowded for game time. Bring cash to buy your drinks outside, service inside takes forever! They also have an upstairs which is nice to split up the crowd.

Wouldn’t recommend to anyone. Service sucked, there was a hair in my drink, and food was terrible. To top it all off I was overcharged and it took the idiots 20 minutes to correct my tab. I would never return.

I’ve been a frequent here prior to Tribe or Cavaliers games but never experienced anything other than a cold refreshing beer. Last night after the tribe game ended and we wanted to catch the end of the Cavs and were all starving so we gave their menu a try. For as busy as they were I was impressed with our service, we had to go to the bar to order but they made sure to keep our beers full and check on if we had everything we wanted. We were starving so ordered the mozzarella wedges to start. They were very well seasoned, hot and delicious. I ordered the philly and not sure if I was really hungry or if it was really good. It comes with nacho cheese sauce on it and that pleased me greatly! The meat could of potentially been frozen but it was hot, well cooked and not fatty. The bun was soft and warm and then I traded it out for sweet potato fries and they were delicious! My friend kept stealing them off my plate. My friend ordered on of their burgers, it looked delicious, and before I looked up again her plate was cleared so I am going to take that as it was more than satisfactory. Would I say hey let’s go to the Clevelander for dinner, probably not, but if I wanted a quick bite while watching a game I would say you’re going to be pleasantly surprised.

We went here at midnight on a Thursday. It was one of our group member’s birthdays. They told us that it was last call after we ordered our first beverages. They just came off as rude and not inviting at all. The bartender seemed upset to have more work to do as soon as we walked through the door. Also, we ordered a round of Irish Car Bombs that were $ 11.50 a piece!!! We went to City Tap near by and they were only $ 6.75. I highly suggest sticking to domestic beers if you are going to hang out here. I am sure this place is awesome during the weekends, but man what a bust on a Thursday night.

Came up to Cleveland with a good friend of mine and my girlfriend but didnt arrive until 1:30am and had no idea where to go to drink, most of the bars in the area were ID’ing at the door and were filled with people wall to wall which isn’t what we’re into at all, but we spotted this bar that wasn’t overly occupied(visibly through the windows) so we stopped in. We ended up staying until it closed, they had decent prices for the city on shots and beers. They have a deal of 5 beers for $ 15. Apparently they have food as well but we weren’t able to get any due to the kitchen already being closed. Met a few people who had been to our home town before which was cool. This is a nice chill bar with a calm atmosphere and nobody getting all rowdy, from this experience anyways.

I went in to the clevelander with a group of 10(admittedly tipsy from bottomless brunch) last Saturday afternoon. It was very slow, but the bartender, Shea, was phenomenal! She was quick, friendly, and attentive. We’ll definitely be back again, thanks Shea!

I’ve been here three different times/days/months…two times, I couldn’t get my husband to stay because the staff was too«busy»(talking to what seem to be their buds) to take our order, when the place was NOT busy.(I tended bar at a packed college bar back in the day… I know what busy looks like. There were FOUR bartenders, and random people walking behind the bar? What is THAT?!) The third time, I told him we were staying no matter what. Yeah, bad choice, because again the servers were too busy with friends to serve us. When we finally had a server come remotely close, she went PAST my husband(literally), and took the order of the people behind him. I was also waiting, money in hand, for 5 minutes BEFORE she went to my husband. She looked directly at me and walked past to the guys. Yeah, I’m all about girl power, but you can’t deny seeing me when you look me right in the eye. The men weren’t any better. You’d think they’d never had a busy crowd, but I Know they have — I walk by all the time! Next time, I’ll keep walking. Oh, and there is a $ 10 minimum on credit/debit, so don’t plan to stop in for«one round» unless you have cash or want to buy shots too. I never, ever carry cash(who does??)! I wanted something other than the corner bar next door… but in the future I’ll just head there to duck out the traffic.

We had food & drinks before an Indians game. Food was good and the service was outstanding. Nicole is the best. She took our order without writing it down and everything was right on. A lost art today. The wait was non– existent. Just few minutes after we ordered and we were served and it was busy. We will certainly return.

Burgers were great. I would come back to eat if ever passing in Cleveland again. I stopped by before an Indians game. Lots of seating indoors and out. They have alot of beers on tap. The bartenders were really nice and provided great service. Rumor has it one the bar girls shoots in the triple digits in the basketball game there in case you like challenge.

I disagree with some of the comments made about the bartenders here. I have gone to the Clevelander on many occasions and have met most of the bartenders, they are all friendly and tolerate a ton of people and their rudeness. I find it hard to believe that any of the girls there would act in this manner. In fact i have seen the act very professionally. The atmosphere is good. The food is above average and the service has always been friendly. I think they could do a better job of keeping the questionable clientele out of the bar.

Great burger cooked to order, but a few things would make this a better-rated place to eat/drink: Get rid of the fruit flies! They are hanging around for a reason and it’s not good… And as you are a bar, how about keeping the white wine stocked up, as it’s unusual to continually find you have 1 white wine option OR none at all. But don’t change the wonderful onion dip and chips — you stand out for that reason alone! Get the ordering straight, a nice clean-up and the crowd will follow for the good food that you serve… not just on the nights the Indians are in town.

This place was terrible. Bartenders were more interested in drinking with their friends than serving on a crowded Saturday. Got two beers and asked for a menu. Got that and she never came back. Bar was filthy also and the couple next to us had to yell for the bartender just to pay their bill after waiting 20 minutes to pay. Go somewhere else!

There is always speculation about who has the best burger in Cleveland and I am here to tell you, The Clevelander is it. PROS –I feel very confident in saying that the Clevelander has the best burger in town. I’ve been to Johnny’s Little Bar, B-Spot, Nano Brew… they do not compare to the amazingness of a Clevelander burger. Juicy meat, flavorful bun, topped the way you want it. Add an order of their awesome seasoned fries(always crisp, just like I like them), and you have yourself a hearty, Cleveland meal. –Patio perfect. Great drink promotions will have you sipping a cold one all afternoon in the warm sunshine. CONS –The seating is not what I would consider comfortable, but this is also not the place I would go to for comfort –Make sure to arrive early for a seat on home-game days. Since this is one bar in a row of bars, it gets pretty packed. BOTTOMLINE –Order the burger. Eat the burger. Savor the burger. Worship the burger.

Stopped by last night while we were driving through the city. Everyone here was SO friendly, which was a little unexpected(sorry Cleveland!), but pleasantly surprised. I think the bartender may have been the only one working, which makes sense since it’s a Sunday night, and she did a great job of taking care of everyone. She was super nice and patient with us, which we appreciated since we were not familiar with the area. We sat on the patio since we had the puppy dog with us, and there were other dogs there, too, which was kind of nice after being in the car all day. There were TVs visible from the patio to watch baseball, which was cool since we are sports fans. Both the boyfriend and I got burgers, I got the one with perogis and he got the bacon/ranch burger, both of which were AMAZING. I’m not much of a chip person, but the dip that it came with was delish and my dog enjoyed it, too. I would definitely recommend for anyone looking for a late night bite!

The mozzarella triangles are really good. The pig burger is really good as well. Had the big o and it was decent. Love the Tatter tots and fries. The wait staff was nice but kinda slow that’s the only reason I gave a 4 star. The food was amazing though.

Fun spot right by Progressive Field and the Arena. Decent Jukebox, decent beer selection, pop a shot game(nice!) sports on tv(awesome!) great staff. Plenty of room unless a game just got out or is about to start. There’s a great vibe here. People are going the extra distance to have a great time and it shows on their faces, in the volume and in the stickiness to parts of the floor. I like a place that let’s you unwind in a big way and that seems to be what this place is all about. For me, this was part of a self-directed Pub Crawl in Gateway District and it totally woke me up and brightened my night. Very glad I stopped in.

This may be the only place in America that I man can walk into a place and get a ‘Tramp Stamp’ and a ‘Dutch Oven’ and still walk away happy. The Clevelander is a perfect semi-hole in the wall bar and grill located only a block or so from the Indians stadium. There are plenty of tv’s to check out sports, a large bar and plenty of tables. The waitresses are very friendly and perfect for handing a bunch of testosterone driven 35+ year old men who act like 12 year olds. The waitress could handle her own with us smart asses, she even asked us if we were all there for the Cher concert, despite us all in baseball gear.(apparently Cher was also playing at another venue close by). We all started off with a Yuengling then ordered our sandwiches. I ordered the Dutch Oven. This was a perfectly cooked burger with applewood bacon, carmelized onion and smoked gouda. I have never had gouda cheese on a burger but it was great!!! It also came with homemade chips and homemade dip. Perfect bar food. We stayed for quite awhile, long enough to drink 4 or 5 beers before the game. The waitress let me sample 2 other beers so I ended up ordering a ‘Clown Shoe’s Tramp Stamp’. This is a double IPA and I’m not usually an IPA guy but the waitress told me it wasn’t very hoppy. They know their beer here. So stop on in for a Dutch Oven and Tramp Stamp, you won’t leave feeling violated.
