I. love. hot. dogs. This stand always tempted me when I was walking to and from classes and dorm rooms during my time at CWRU. It’s located right in front of Rainbow Babies and is so convenient that I wonder how I went nearly four years without giving in. The smells are fantastic and the prices are too! I believe it’s $ 1.50 for a dog and whoever is working SERIOUSLY piles the condiments on. I sometimes go for everything, which is a sloppy mess of delicious. Other times, simple ketchup and mustard will do. The onions and kraut are disturbingly similar, but I’m not mad, since they come from a steamy stand on the sidewalk – flavors mix. Thankfully my parents always told me that if my food on my plate mixed together, it’s no big deal because they would mix just the same in my stomach! I often go and grab lunch with a friend of mine who works on the campus and we typically get 5+ dogs. The«hot dog man» always asks us who they’re for and we brazenly tell him, «us, of course!». He always seems a little surprised at our enthusiasm for hot dogs as well as our black holes that we must have for stomachs. But, seriously, I can’t resist a hot dog, and when they’re cheap, delicious and convenient, why have only one?! This stand may be the reason I start carrying more cash.
