Pretty Place is an amazing site — spirtually and with its natural beauty — a chapel overlooking the mountains. It is right across the NC border, in SC (about 20 minutes from Brevard). We scheduled our wedding ceremony here 7 months in advance — all Saturdays were booked in the fall but Sundays and weekdays offered flexibility.
Making the reservation was easy and a few weeks before the wedding they sent us a reminder.
It is a chapel open on 3 sides with a roof. It is in excellent condition.
I recommend visiting Pretty Place at different times of the year — we visited spring, summer, and fall. It is a lovely place to watch the seasons change. Our ceremony here was perfect.

This review is for Fred W. Symmes Chapel or «Pretty Place» that is situated in the back of the camp. It’s open to the public, and it offers a panorama of the upstate that is just beautiful. Everyone who visits upstate South Carolina should visit this place at least once. Many people like the view so much they offer wedding services in the outdoor chapel.
