Solid hamburger and fries, and of course, the ice cream is great. This is not fine dining, but it’s an affordable place to each, with good quality.

I recently had the unfortunate pleasure of dining here this past Saturday night around 9, and I had a terrible experience. Our server was a blonde named Tiffany, and she had a very poor attitude. She was rude throughout our meal, slamming our plates down, and was not a happy person at all. She ruined our dinner. I had to leave quickly and did not have time to complain to management. I will not be returning.

Being that Friendly’s is a childhood treasure to me. I grew up eating there it was the place to be after school games dances etc. I was craving some nostalgia. My brother and I drove up there. The menu was new and included ice cream and breakfast which is weird but whatever. So our server was great. She let us know she’d be with us and was timely etc. She was informative and engaging. She was honestly above Friendly’s and I did overtip but she deserved it. Well on to the food. I ordered a classic grilled cheese which is listed as a request in lieu of their newer version. It was sub par to say the least. Idk if it was not given the attention due to classic etc but disappointing. I used to get it all the time because there was something about grilled cheese. Basically I miss Friendly’s hay day when the classics were known and executed well for a quick service restaurant. It’s really no surprise that so many have closed. If they would go back to what they were and stop trying to reinvent the wheel it would be so much better. Fribbles were good though think they used to be thicker though. You actually used to need the spoon.

The service was horrible. We came in and I watched the people that came in after me and my family get service at their table first. The waitress finally came and we order our drinks and on her way back she coughs herself forgetting my coffee. She took our order and said it shouldn’t be long. Twenty minutes later she brought my daughter her food and didn’t have neither my food or my wives. Fifteen minutes later our food finally arrived. When she brought it she mention sorry for the wait but you guys just miss the time frame to get a free meal. I couldn’t believe she said that. I also notice that when the manager notices that you are not having a enjoyable experience she doesn’t come to your table and greets you. The manager made sure she walk up to the other four tables around us and greeted everyone els. This isn’t my first time experiencing this here with the staff.

This Friendly’s is terrible. Every time I go here I am left feeling a sense of complete regret at the fact that I even spent money here. The service is very hit and miss. Most recently I had a waitress who gave me about two seconds to look at the menu then asked if I was ready to order, I said I needed more time and then about two minutes later she’s back. I’m sorry that it takes me more then five minutes to look at a menu, especially since it’s a new menu they have now that I’m not familiar with. The food to me is just mediocre. Not even. The cheeseburger slammers I had most recently were so dry, I didn’t even finish one of them. The food is just good enough and it’s just cheap enough and reliably unreliable enough that I end up there probably twice a year and every time I do go, I leave wondering why I went. The milkshakes/fribbles/whatever are amazing though. Seriously. Love them.

I was so excited to go to friendly’s because of childhood nostalgia. I live in Phoenix now so this local chain really reminds me of home. Sadly the food was really not as incredible as I had remembered. Pretty greasy. However the friendzie made up for it. I still like friendly’s and I’m certain I’ll be back.

Unsure how to start this review. Think I’m in shock. You see, American restaurants perfected fries, bacon burgers and milk shakes so long ago it’s jarring to find a place screwing them up this badly. First, brown buffalo chicken fingers? I don’t know what that sauce was, I’d say it tasted like spoiled honey with a hint of franks hot sauce. Just gross. This plate of soggy, brown and greasy«buffalo chicken» was followed by the main course. Burgers. I think. Have you ever seen a bacon cheese burger so burnt and slathered in grease a starving 16-year old boy pushes it away in disgust? Like a unicorn I did not think such a burger existed. But it does! And I have seen it. A bun so soaked in some sort of grease that teenagers at the 4 surrounding tables instantly broke out into a pimple filled haze. A burger patty miraculously burnt, cold and nearly raw on the inside. Triple threat burger! The worst part is that the disgusting appetizers were so bad we actually felt lucky rather than annoyed when the burgers came out 30 seconds after the appetizers. After getting a few bites we were so deflated because as hungry as we were not at least trying to eat wasn’t an option and yet, even as we fought to choke down at least half of this sorry excuse for a burger we, all knew we were playing Russian roulette with our stomachs. Now I sit quietly on the couch, clutching a rosary and murmuring silent prayers to any God listening that nothing I ate is going to poison me. We’re all on edge, looking across the living room at each other, watching for signs. Is that sweat on your brow? Is she burping? Does everyone feel ok still? Oh God just let us live! Used to be, when I was a kid, Friendlys was a great treat. Now my kids think it’s a threat. Like, «If you’re report card is terrible were going back to Friendlys!» And they will say«I’m sorry Dad! Don’t make us go to Friendlys we’ll be better we promise.» PS we all, having sampled French fries before, know full well they sat around and were fried a second time. Your not as tricky as you think Friendlys! Those limp, soggy fries were the perfect compliment to the gross burger though. After all it would have been confusing if there was something on the plate that wasn’t completely revolting.

Dirty restaurant and place smells like a dirty frier. The permeating order of old dirty fry oil hits you like a train when you open the doors. Saw the tables and food was pretty much all deep fried. Decided to just get ice cream instead. Sat outside to get away from smell. Don’t understand why people go here. Just buy the ice cream at grocery store to save your nose from that horrid smell.

Typical Friendly’s food, not anything special. But the service is so slow it is unreal. Last two times we went, the time from sitting down at the table until was about 1hr and 45 minutes. I’m not sure how chicken fingers and sandwiches takes 45 minutes to prepare or how putting two scoops of ice cream in a dish takes 10 or 15 minutes. Of coarse the check came before we were offered the 1st refill on our drinks. Over all the food is ok, but the service is awful.

I wish I could give this Friendly’s a better rating, but after several patronages the trend is unmistakable. There is nothing wrong with the food, but the service is abhorrent. Wait times are atrociously long whether you sit inside or get a to-go order from the window. For example, I once ordered a honey BBQ chicken supermelt to go via phone. The girl taking my order said it would be ready in 15 – 20 minutes. I live two miles away, so I made sure not to rush over there, and after 15 minutes of waiting I rode my bicycle so that I wouldn’t arrive too early. Even after I arrived I waited 23 additional minutes to get my food, and by then it was lukewarm. While sitting inside it has been a common occurrence to wait an hour for my food, and I typically dine alone. During another visit, I only got a chocolate milkshake for my girlfriend, and I was the only one at the ice cream window. No one noticed me when I approached it, so I rang the bell after a minute. The manager, Linda B.(what it says on her name tag), said she’d be with me in a minute. This was my most recent visit to this store, and I’d already been disgruntled by the wait times, so I decided to run my stopwatch on this one. After Linda said she’d be only a minute, it was 4 min 33 seconds before she took my order, and then it was 9 min 16 seconds total before I had the milkshake in my hand. That’s unacceptable when you’re the only customer waiting at the window and only order a single, easy item. It’s not just the fact that service here is deplorably slow. What exacerbates it is that the management doesn’t care. Their lax attitudes rub off on the employees, and despite having submitted two complaints online, I’ve never received a response. They just don’t care.

Went here on a Friday night and the place was packed. Luckily we didn’t wait too long for a table. I asked the waitress if they were busier now that a lot of the Friendly’s have closed in the area and she said they have always been busy and that restaurant was the second busiest in the nation. That didn’t seem to slow them down in the kitchen any. Our food came out promptly. Everything tasted good and the service was friendly as the name implies.

It’s like the only Friendly’s that’s still open in like a 15 mile radius. The quality of the food isn’t spectacular, the ice cream really is what most people go for, and I feel like just simply because the supply of Friendly’s has decreased significantly the quality has suffered somewhat.

We were prepared for a wait based on the other reviews from Unilocalers, but to my pleasant surprise we had very fast service, right up until the place was inundated at the lunch hour. So we ended up waiting quite a long time for my son’s ice cream, which I took to be entirely an issue with the kitchen, as our server dutifully updated us every time she went by. As for the food, it was Friendly’s-standard, which is normally fine. However, I was under the distinct impression that a sandwich with the word«Melt» in its name, in my case a «Tuna Melt» was supposed to include melted cheese and be, well, hot. Mine was more like a «Tuna Freeze» — ice cold tuna under unmelted American cheese that had obviously not been grilled. On the other hand the two of us go out of there for less than $ 20 with a decent tip. And I firmly believe the Friendly’s way with coffee is correct — deliver a whole carafe to the customer and let THEM refill it – and today it was actually pretty darn good joe(a Columbian, to be sure, but a nice deep brew of it.) So the better-than-expected service and the somewhat poor performance from the kitchen should probably technically average out to a three, but I give it a veeerrry low three and you’re warned accordingly. There are worse places to stop at off the Northway. If that’s damning with faint praise so be it.

Went here for breakfast because I haven’t had their breakfast in a long time. I been here a bunch of time for a light dinner and of course ice cream and the ice cream is always on point. So as soon as we walked in I got this whiff of old dirty carpet… NASTY! We should have walked right out because that is all I smelled the entire time we were there eating. We were seated right away, but it took a while for the waitress to come over to take our order. My wife looked at me and said 2 more minutes and we are out of here if no one comes over I didn’t have a problem with that. I can understand if the restaurant was busy but it wasn’t, there was 4 to 5 tables max. We both order 2 coffee’s and 2 waters. Drinking water in CP is like drinking water out of a swimming pool… so much chlorine… LOL! I ordered meat lovers skillet but I told the waitress that I only wanted bacon. It was served under home fries and a side of toast on the side. My wife order french toast with sausage. The food came out and looked good, mine was good, my wife seemed to like her as well. So over all a ok breakfast.
