Small and mostly toy store(few hobby items in evidence, unless your hobby is collecting toys), with a nice mixture of independent toy lines, still a bit on the plastic side of the line, but with quite a number of interesting small finds. The«smalls» are more reasonably priced than the larger items. Apples to Apples the prices are full boat retail — a Melissa and Doug puzzle was $ 2 more than at another store, and $ 5 more than online. But you get a decent bricks and mortar browse experience and good service from the friendly proprietor. Good stocking stuffer destination.

This is a cute store with some fun, different options for toys. If you can endure inferior customer service, this is a good place to shop. My mother and I were finishing some Christmas shopping, and had multiple bags in our hands. We asked the 3 people at the register to hold our three toys that we had selected from the store, while we continued to look around. 5 minutes later, we returned to pay for our selections. 2 of the 3 workers behind the counter were on their cell phones. None of the 3 of them knew where our toys were. One of the toys was the last one in the store. It was never found. They gave us our other two selections for half price, because of their error and were very apologetic.

Wow, just had a very negative experience there. I was there at 10am and the woman who opened the store(no idea if she was the owner) was 5 minutes late and not only did not apologize, she brought her unleashed dog who ran over to me and my 7 year old daughter and was barking and acting very aggressively to us. The dog kept following us around the store barking at us. She did nothing to control him and was more concerned about giving the dog his toys then turning the store lights on. She kept telling the dog«they don’t want to play with you» as if his behavior was our fault. She could tell we were upset by the dog but did nothing and was being very snotty to us. We are NEVER going there again!

Not your typical, run-of-the-mill toy store, which is why I like it. No Disney, Barbie or Star Wars action figures here. More unique and educational stuff, as well as a huge selection of board games. Reminiscent of The Toy Maker shop in Stuyvesant Plaza, only bigger. They don’t offer much in terms of outdoor play or electronics, but they still earn four stars. I didn’t even notice the«& Hobby» portion of the store, but then again, I wasn’t looking.
