Wow! I am very impressed. My Husband and I had dinner here last night. I was pleased with the quality of food and the service. My Husband ordered the Delmonico steak and it was absolutely perfect! I had an appetizer and the new soup and salad bar. I loved the beef barley soup! The salad bar had many options and most importantly, it was CLEAN and well stocked. Saltys has a great little bar area that looked like a lot of fun. I am very happy to have tried this local restaurant. A nice change from all the chain, restaurants in Clifton Park.

Simply not that good. We went there based on Unilocal reviews but this was a fail. The service was good. The salad bar was less than to be desired. Different greens would of been good. I ordered the clams casino to start, they were good but by far not the best I have had. For dinner I ordered the fish and chips. It was served with a fried tortilla shell. That said not make sense. The breading was not flavorful and the fish was dry maybe even frozen. My guest ordered the scallops. It was good but very oily. He did not eat much of it. We will not go back.

Have walked out before without being served as the waitress walked by four times. Decided to go to the pizza place across the street much better service. Another Time got the seared for the cost there was no tuna. Same cost at epicurean in Latham and triple the actual tuna.

If I could rate this place lower I would. I wish that this was based on the quality of the food but seeing as how my fiancé and I were never served I would not know. My fiancé and I walked in to Saltys with the intention of sitting in the bar and having a couple of cocktails and then moving in to the dining room for some dinner. Upon arriving we sat in the bar, my fiancé put a twenty on the bar to signal to the bar tender that we would like to order a drink. Well we waited. Another couple walks in, they are immediately served. Sooo, the bartender looks at us, kind of meanders behind the bar. Now two gentlemen walk in. They are served. Now my fiancé is getting annoyed. The bartender proceeds then to walk right by us, goes to the end of the bar where they send drinks out, props his leg up and begins conversing with another patron. Needless to say at this point it was apparent that we just would not be served, so we left. Without even a word from any staff in the place. I hate to think we were not served for the reason I believe so I will not even mention that. I was highly disappointed since I had hoped this would be my go to restaurant for seafood since we live so close. I moved here from Seattle and was really looking forward to some delicious seafood again. Oh well guess I will check out Reel Seafood or something.

My first time dining at Salty’s. I’d heard they had great seafood so I headed over to check them out for lunch today. Their website boasted fresh fried clam strips for lunch. As a New Englander I look for good fried clams and, usually, go to Matt’s Cape House just a few miles north on Rte 9. The lunch menu does not have the fried clam basket on it as advertised. When questioned the waiter said«no not on the lunch menu and they should take it off the website… but you could have the dinner. It’s not that big.» I commented that I wasn’t hungry enough for a dinner portion with soup and salad. I sounded disappointed and said I’d need to look the menu over. Frankly, I almost left at this point as a matter of principle, but I was hoping a resourceful waiter would go back to the kitchen and come back with an offer to make me what I wanted. No such luck and no indication he had tried. I could have asked for a manager or pushed for an exception, but I did not. I had the fish fry. A good sized piece of lightly breaded Haddock that overlapped the top and bottom of a brioche style bun accompanied by the typical battered fries. The fish was tasty and the tartar sauce was very good. My water glass remained empty throughout most of my meal and I didn’t see my server until I was finished and ready for a check. There were just 4 occupied tables and 2 servers; no idea what he was doing. I may go back at a busier time of day if I’m in the area. Now here’s the important part… my reason for going to lunch was to scout the place to bring 30 people for a car club dinner. Since they were not very accommodating during a time the restaurant was not busy, I decided there was no way I’d jeopardize my reputation bringing 30 guests for dinner.

Went the other night on a friends recommendation. Well, first off I was so surprised with the size of the place. Décor was lacking something. Somewhat dated. Second I was very surprised with the beer list! I would give it a B+. I Felt like having a cocktail but they were unable to make a frozen margarita. So I asked our waitress if the had any spicy drinks. She recommends the spicy Bloody Mary. Nothing to write about. Way too much ice. I gotta say I was getting nervous since we had 7 people with us. Not impressed with their«special secret Bloody Mary.» Bread came out quickly, and it was nice and crusty. Kept refilling the basket without asking..(I like this.) All dinners came with choice of soup or salad. I had the Delmonico 24 oz. cooked perfectly. Dinner salad was surprisingly big. Chicken Parmesan, Pork Chops were also very good. My daughter was craving chicken franchise and it wasn’t on the menu, but the waitress asked and the kitchen said yes. Let me tell you it was great and they should add it to the menu. Over all I enjoyed the food and service. Our waitress was on her game. Worked hard on accommodating our table. Enjoyable and would recommend!

NOT a good experience in any stretch of the word. Not just(extremely) slow service, they forgot to bring me my drink– and at least 25% of the mussels I ordered were completely closed. They make an alright ruben, decent bar food. The rest? Not so great.

Good food. Horrible service. My mom and I stopped in today for lunch and there were no other customers in the restaurant. We were sat promptly and started looking over the menu. A few minutes later another group of people came in and were sat near us. Their waiter went over to them after a few minutes but we were totally ignored. We sat there for over 20 and were still ignored. Finally, we decided to get up and leave and on the way out the other tables waiter said«did your waiter not come over? We said no. We sat there for more than 20 minutes with not even a drink order. So he replies«sorry to hear that» and we just walked out. There were 2 tables in there with customers and you couldn’t even help us? Never again.

We live in Clifton park and somehow forget about saltys! But every time we have a chance to go the service and food is spot on. Always love the tuna with black rice!!! Last week we stopped in for my husbands birthday before meeting friends elsewhere. We got some drinks and ordered from the raw bar. Everything was delicious. Chef accommodated my husbands request for mignonette with our oysters which we both appreciated! We would have stayed longer but had to go *somewhere* for free birthday wings.(If there were free oysters for the birthday boy we would’ve stayed all night! ;)) Update– in response to your comment– also enjoy the fish n chips and fishermans platter… And we tend to order off the specials most of the time. Thanks!!!

We previously avoided this place because from the outside, it looked like a seedy bar. However, time and time again, the old saying«Do not judge a book by its cover» proves true. I was craving seafood and after checking the multiple positive Unilocal reviews, my husband and I decided to finally check out Salty’s Pub. I’m so glad we did– I’m no longer driving anywhere else out of Clifton Park for some good seafood grub! Do not let the strip mall exterior fool you. Inside, Salty’s Pub is warm and inviting. Wood paneling can be disastrous for most places, but they made it work by pairing it with tons of bright lighting and interesting window-pane décor. The hostess and servers were friendly. For $ 67, my husband and I ordered drinks, an appetizer, two entrees and a dessert. Not too bad, especially since the food was delicious. The crusty white bread was great, and it would have been even better served with a dip of olive oil and fresh herbs and spices. It’s okay though because I ordered littleneck clams in white wine broth. The clams were fresh, light, and bright, and that crusty bread was perfect for soaking up some of that broth! After apps, my husband had a side salad while I opted for the corn chowder. I thought the chowder was good– it had a good fresh corn taste and it wasn’t too thick or chunky. My husband ordered the Fisherman’s Platter, while I got the jumbo prawns stuffed with crab. While my dish was tasty, I found myself reaching across often to help him polish off his fried oysters. The haddock, oysters, scallops and shrimp were lightly battered and fried; not at all greasy like most fried fish dishes. I couldn’t resist trying out the cobbler even though I was very close to full. I didn’t really like it, but it wasn’t an awful cobbler. It had unpeeled Granny Smith apples, which I think makes it too tart, and the crumble barely existed. Overall though, it was warm and tasted like apple cobbler so no major complaints there. Good atmosphere, good service, and good food! It’s rare to find a place that fits all three, and so close to home! I’m glad we gave Salty’s Pub a chance.

FAVORITEPLACEINCLIFTONPARK! Little hidden gem– looks like a sports bar on the outside, but is a big and nice restaurant inside. Just recently discovered this spot and sat at the bar to eat both times and ordered a lot of food! Food was delicious, big portions, and very friendly wait staff. Food we have ordered: calamari, fried pickles, clams& linguini(white sauce), cuben sandwich, salmon special, New England clam chowder, fish fry sandwich(not sure the name), and they were all some of the best we have had. Drinks were very good too, reasonably priced, coupons can be found in the Clipper magazine, and we will definitely be back!

I am very disappointed with this place, it used be much better. I went this past weekend and my experience was not the best. Had fish and ships and let me tell you, that fish was like eating plastic, the Cesar salad had too much vinegar, to the point that was basically uneatable, the service was very slow and mediocre. I really don’t know what happen but I had better experience before at this place and the food was way better. I don’t think I’ll be back anytime soon. I guess I’ll give it another opportunity in the future.

Went to a local event meeting here and had lunch, damn good fish fry!!! Fish was juicy, huge, and breaded just right. Big portion and came with a ton of fries. I ate as much as I could and still had a bunch to take home. I would definitely recommend this place and the fish fry!!! Yum!

Have had many enjoyable happy hours over the years until this last one! A change in bartenders has not gone smoothly and needs to be address immediately! Stopped in to meet a few friends, female blonde bartender was new and apparently overwhelmed, we understood that, were patient and understanding until a smaller brunette, older with a European accent came behind the bar to «help». We asked for menus, they were thrust towards us in an aggressive manner, she walked away briskly, and came back in less than a minute and said«you gonna order food?». I replied«no», put the coaster on top of my glass, told the blonde that her partner just cost her money, she said she knew, and we left. There are ALOT of places in and around Clifton Park that would appreciate my business and have for years. I will not be going back to Salty’s until Bar Rescue does a show on it.

Wow! One of the best meals we have had in a very long time. Food was amazing. My husband and I had the prime rib with mashed potatoes and salad. Meat was cooked and seasoned perfectly. Mashed potatoes were incredible. Salad was great too. Read other reviews about the fried onions being from a can and that was not the case with our meals, they were definitely fresh. Kids had fried chicken and that was amazing too. All veggies were super fresh and well prepared. Wait staff was great and the owner made it a point to come to each table. Very pleasant music(smooth jazz) and décor and extremely clean. We will definitely be back soon.

The place smells a little dingy, like it needs to be aired out. The tables were a little sticky. Our server was very young, and though he was efficient, he wasn’t very personable. I ordered the prime rib and my partner ordered the steak. The food was decent, but not worth the amount we paid(around $ 50 for the meal, a little over $ 60 with tip).

Pretty decent food and large portions. Were were there relatively early on a Sunday evening and had blazingly fast service. The location(strip mall) is typical for the area and you really need to wait until you get inside to make judgments. Salty’s has a tastefully done nautical theme. Lots of wood but light and bright inside. The fisherman’s platter was nicely done and good sized. Certainly worth the price. Only issue was the scallops(which were very large) were slightly under cooked. They should probably use smaller ones to cook at the same rate as the other fried items. Overall not a bad place for dinner.
