The place has a nice ambiance and lovely staff. The drinks at the bar are well made(I wish I got the name of the bartender that took care of my friends and I last time we went here). Food is ok, it’s the only thing about this place that’s like meh. I don’t know how to explain it but it just tastes like day old food that’s been sitting out and when you ordered it, they heated it up in the microwave.

My review is based on the way the karaōke DJ’s and their brown nosing coffin dodger friends treat my friends every time we go there. My friend is an Elvis impersonator and he sounds exactly like Elvis, so the bulky old DJ’s are jealous of him and constantly bully him; they fuck with his sounds, make rude hand gestures behind his back when he sings(bent hand wrist, implying that he is gay, which he is NOT but even if he WAS, wtf is the problem with that?) and they spread vicious rumors about him throughout the bar, while he is there, creating a mean attitude towards him(and us) while we are there, YET they send him emails saying they miss him when he misses a week, and we go back and every time, the same bullying happens. Told my friend to stop going there because everyone is over 60 yet acts like 13 year old assholes; teasing, bullying, gossiping, sabotaging our songs; absolutely brutal. The food is mediocre at best and the wine? Well forget it, might as well drink your own before you go as you will get a splitting headache from their trashing wine. The ambiance, or lack of, is like going to a roast. Everyone is pissed off that they are so old and miserable, they want to piss on your parade if you show up in a good mood. Also, it is like the film Groundhog Day, EVERY singer sings the same fucking songs every fucking week. It is so irritating; it’s like HEYPEOPLE, THEREAREOTHERSONGSOUTTHERE!!! The skinny old bleach blonde sings«all that jazz» every week, and thinks it’s great but it sucks ass. I could go on and on but I feel like I am going to vomit even thinking about this hell hole. Tiny town: TINYFUCKINGMINDS.

Absolutely horrible. Food was not fresh. Tasted like it was frozen then microwave. Service was horrible. The waitress acted like they were in their own living room. Manager sat at the bar and didn’t do a thing. I will not be back to this restaurant.

First off, I’m a Clifton resident of 28 years. This is my 3rd time going here in the past 2 years. Now I dunno what happened, I had 2 drinks and a burger. I never have issues when I have 2 drinks. This is y I think it’s the burger. 2 hours after leaving I had a stomach ache. Got home about 10:30. By then I just wanted to go to bed. I ended up going to bed and tossed and turned for a bit hoping it would pass. Finally I was just about to fall asleep, then BOOM, I’m wide awake running to the bathroom. Yes I got sick. Very sick. I threw up a few times and then got diarrhea in the process. Finally I was done cleaned myself up then went back to bed. 1:30 am rolls along and boom round 2. I’m now finally back in bed its 1:45 am. I feel like shit and my stomach hurts. I almost wanted to go to the hospital before. I think the grande saloon kitchen is unsanitary and dangerous. It was the burger that got me sick.

Good spot for a burger… one of the best in the area in my opinion. Beer was flat which was a disappointment. Attentive bartenders. Not an easy lot to park in… I suggest parking along Van Houton Ave.

I was in a fraternity at Montclair State University, and we used to frequent this place often in the early to mid 90’s. I loved this place — lots of fond memories here. I recently made a trip back and was pleased to see how great this place still looks, yet it hasn’t changed a bit — sort of a much welcomed time-warp — was really happy to be there. The food and drinks are good here. They also do a fun karaōke here.

We came here for a low key, casual dinner with friends. On Thursday nights they have some drink and appetizer specials for the ladies. They have a decent amount of beers on their list and their Peach Bellini was tasty. The service was attentive. Their wings were well sauced and the pierogis were plump and delicious. I was able to grab a bite of the«Fatso’s» Chicken Sandwich and it was really great(the pesto and balsamic vinegar make it).I wish I had ordered that for my main dish, because my Ahi Tuna Salad was actually terrible. One of my friends found his Ahi Tuna to be fine; however, mine had an odd fishy taste to it. perhaps I was just being too adventurous in ordering this, but I would skip it. Next time I return I’ll try the Rib Eye Steak Sandwich or the Prime Rib Dip.

Had a doctors appointment pushed back an hour. Decided to kill that time by getting lunch. The wife and I had been here before but that was a number of years ago. My intention was to grab a hamburger but they only have 8 ounce burgers which was a lot of beef to handle for lunch. So I went with the lunch special which was a half a sandwich and a cup of soup. The soup of the day was a beef barley and I chose a turkey sandwich on white bread. This sandwich was actually pretty good real turkey breast not deli meat. The soup was excellent, tasty and hot. Soup sandwich in a draft beer and I got out of there for $ 11. Can’t really beat that.

I think this place is so underrated. I’ve never had a bad meal here. Their salads are great — my favorite is the Asian salad topped with Ahi Tuna and seaweed salad. The atmosphere is relaxed with karaōke on the weekends and an older crowd. The prices are reasonable and it is never too crowded to get a seat.

Came here with some friends on a snowy Sunday for some drinks. The outside appearance really drew us in that night, it was festively decorated for the holidays. Did not try any of their food but they had some seasonal drinks that were amazing. The place is huge, has a great crowd, and karaōke!

The shrimp Greek and Santa Fe salads are both very good. The burger is great as well. Definitely some good American food to be found here. We randomly ordered the Corn Bread Soufflé, which basically is warm delicious cakey corn bread. The atmosphere is old western bar style. There’s always a hip older crowd. Karaōke usually goes on here at night. Not the coldest beer around though, they can use a little work on the draft drinks.
