I hadn’t had a hair cut in a very long time and they always did what they wanted instead of what i wanted BUT Mike did exactly what i asked and I’m thrilled with my new doo. After relocating to New Jersey, and researching credible hair salons in the area, I came across Hair Craft Salon here on Unilocal.The reviews were honest and I got a really good feeling. I went to Hair Craft in the beginning of October on a very dreary, rainy afternoon. I was a little late, but regardless, everyone was very friendly and Michael, the owner, immediately took me into his chair. After a thorough consultation Michael knew exactly how to color my hair. He was personable and made me feel as if I had been there 100 times. From the consultation, through the multi-​process color to cut and style, Michael was terrific! My hair looked so amazing, my husband took me out for dinner! I will definitely be back to Hair Craft and consider Michael my new hair guru!

Jill is terrific! We actually followed her here from a previous salon and glad we did. Not only her talent is exceptional, but Michael is wonderful as well. Very friendly and the place is always very clean and inviting.

Jill is truly gifted, I have been using her to cut my hair for 10 years now and won’t let anyone else cut my hair.

I just moved from Bayonne and was looking out for an excellent hair stylist who can be at par with my old stylist Amanda in Bayonne. Saw good reviews on Unilocal and thought to give it a try! Every time, whenever I move from one city to another, I get really scared when it comes to experimenting with a new hair stylist due to my bad experiences with some of the salon but not here! I am happy to announce that I am not going to miss Amanda any more:) sorry Amanda! Michael is very professional, I could see how detail oriented he is which is great because I know my hair gonna be treated nicely. All in all, I am relieved now for my hair! Best part, it’s within walking distance from my house:)

Micheal Burke owner of Hair Craft Salon did it again! I have fine hair that can be curly and fizzy. Takes a lot of work to make it look good, which I have little patience and skill. I own every hot roller, hot iron, steam rollers, you name it, I tried it. Micheal is a master of color, hair cuts and blow outs. He knows your hair so well and what will work for you. I hesitated for such a long long time to cut it short. And Micheal would gently suggest to cut it, but never insist or push you. He always does what the client wants. So finally I said lets do it… and I only wish I did it years ago. He is fabulous, I will only let HIM do my hair. No one compares. Just love him and his salon. Everyone there is so happy and friendly. A great place to be. Everyone I refer to him loves him and will go no where else!

My entire family has gone to Michael for over 12 years now. The staff is extremely friendly and accommodating to our hectic schedule, the bathroom is always spotless, and parking is easy. However, the reason we continue to go to HairCraft is because of Michael. He always takes his time and listens, when I ask for something different, Michael offers constructive criticism, which over the years, I have learned that he knows what he’s talking about when it comes to hair and hairstyles. Even my ten year old son loves getting his haircut by Michael, because unlike a barber, his actually takes his time and cuts my son’s hair to compliment his style; not just a typical kid cut. I highly recommend this salon, oh and if I don’t like the results, I just tell Michael right then and there, or call him the next day, and he makes it right.

Had 2 prom up-do’s done here. They listened to what I was looking for and went a step further. Everyone was kind and helpful in the salon. Would recommend this salon to anyone in the area.

Owner could not make it to my appt, so I settled for the «apprentice» for a single process color. It took him two hours. He made me sit with my head in the sink for 10 mins after he pulled the color through my ends, which was very uncomfortable. When I got back to the chair with sopping wet hair, he dried two strands and asks me if I like the color, then basically kicks me out of the chair because he has another client. While I’m paying at the counter with my hair dripping down my back, I try to pull it up in a ponytail and realize that I have soap still in my hair. The receptionist was sweet and offered to wash it out for me, but I just needed to end this experience. The apprentice was very awkward and of course inexperienced, so he shouldn’t be taking over for the owner’s new clients. I thought that the owner would have followed up with me afterward so I can give them a second chance, but it didn’t happen. Older clientele in the shop so can’t really speak to the «hip”-ness of this place. It’s disappointing to me that this isn’t my new hair salon, so still looking.

I have recently moved from NY/​BK, and had not had my hair cut since then due to me not finding the right place to go.
I felt it was time to try and find my go to place in this new city.
I had my hair cut by Michael the owner who was very knowledgeable. He cut my hair perfectly, and I am now happy to say I found my new spot.

Michael and staff is always friendly and accommodating to offer coffee when I am there. Staff is professional and no gossip negative talk here which is a plus for me. I have been going to Michael little under a year for cut, coloring and wax. Betty is my go to for wax brows. I was a «work in progress» and Michael listens but also suggests to keep the cut up to date. Michael is an artist and takes time with not only cut but blowing out the hair to make sure it falls nicely. I don’t dare to even suggest to skip the blowout as he would be disappointed not to see the final result. I discovered this salon by chance as my current stylist relocated with no notice. I am so thankful that I found Michael and his warm friendly staff to make me feel like I am ready to paint the town red when I leave. Thank you!

I have been Michael’ s customer for years. This salon is a perfect reflection of his vision. Very accommodating, well priced and always pleased with the results for color and cut.

Mike and Jill did my and my wedding party’s hair on my wedding day. They did a fabulous job and everyone’s hair stayed up through the night! They were also very nice people and we had a lot of fun getting out hair done there. Jill also did my makeup, which came out flawless.

I just got back from getting my haircut at Hair Craft and am very happy with the results. Michael did an amazing job and took the time out to make suggestions on what he thought would look best.
The rest of the staff is extremely friendly and accommodating. The salon also has a nice, chic feel to it, and is not intimidating like other salons I have been to over the years.

I walked into this salon with a terribly bleached head, which I foolishly did myself. Had spoken with Michael over the phone, he diagnosed my hair crisis perfectly over the phone. Extremely knowledgeable and friendly, he brought my hair back to life and normalcy! The whole staff was very welcoming as well. I highly recommend this salon for anyone who needs coloring or cuts! Superb service, deep knowledge of the business, a clean and inviting place and an overall joy! Best kept secret in Jersey. Let’s spread the word!

A creature of habit, I needed to find a new salon having moved to the area. I came across Hair Craft and have been a few times now. I always get personalized attention from business owner Michael, and his work is excellent. I love my haircut and I’m happy to have found a place in New Jersey. I highly recommend Hair Craft!

I’ve been going to Michael for over 10 years now. I have long, straight hair and for anyone who loves their long hair, you know what I’m talking about here; it takes a lot of trust to allow someone close to your head with scissors. I have never once had a bad experience and always leave there feeling cleaned up with some more styling options than I had before. Fair pricing, clean, stylish salon and they use great products. I actually even lived 3 states away and came all the way back for 7 years for hair cuts. If that isn’t a show of confidence, I don’t know what is. And there is ALWAYS something NEW going on in there!
