I’ve had takeout several times from here. This is really good Puerto Rican food. The yellow rice and red beans are really good. I’ve had the pernil and roasted chicken and both were really good as well. The tres leches cake is excellent and the prices are good. $ 10 for a dinner or less. The people are always friendly as it looks like a family run mom and pop place.

Dinner specials on Fri night were Ropa Vieja(shredded beef) and Mango Chicken. Well, they didn’t have any mango so they asked if it was ok to substitute it for pineapple, so pineapple chicken it was. Ropa vieja was better than the chicken, but both were fine. The specials come with two sides. They didn’t have green plantains(tostones), so I ordered ripe plantains(maduros) and fried yuca. Yuca was tough, maybe not cooked enough before frying. My suggestion is to get some rice side to soak up the sauces. Now, they have to deliver the dinner… They only have one driver, who was very pleasant but it took him 1 hour 45min. to make the delivery and I’m only an 8min drive away. This a bit much!

Sazon Caribe used to be called Casita Maria and I was ecstatic to find it because they have some of the best Spanish food in my largely Hispanic populated area. I love this place. The prices are reasonable, the delivery is quick, and the delivery guy is very friendly. The only reason I’m not giving five stars is because some things can be a bit confusing the first time you order. When you order a combo it comes with a choice of 2 sides, now most Spanish people would assume the rice is a given part of the combo, but it isn’t so you have order it on the side. The girl who takes the orders can be very nasty some times so that is something management can work on but other than that it’s a great place to eat. Their hours are not set in stone. Sometimes they close earlier and that can be disappointing so call ahead if your going to stop by.
