We have been going there a few times in 2014 because of bigger space in comparison to other Toros location in Paterson, their combination platter was amazing but overtime their chefs becoming lazy or something, our meat became more undercooked even they knew we Muslims do not eat bloody meat. Meat was supposed to be well done like we had in the past. We stopped going since then and went back to other Toros location in Paterson since they never failed their meat as they always cooked all the way through.

My boyfriend and I entered the restaurant on a Friday night at 10:17PM. The moment I was given the menu I felt rushed. They need to stay open later on Fridays & Saturday evenings, at least until midnight. Summer is approaching and people in general just stay out later. I also took notice they rushed us the most even though there was clearly other customers at different tables who were already there before us. I liked the food the restaurant set up is great! However, My boyfriend and I honestly felt like we could not fully enjoy ourselves because we were consistently rushed. So much to the point where one waitress insisted to wrap one of our plates to go when we were still working on it. We left the restaurant and the other customers who were already there before us, were still there. it felt unfair because they did no rush them as like they did to us. Overall, this restaurant has so many great things to offer and even more potential if they were to bump up their professionalism even more. If you are going to eat here past 10PM, I highly recommend that you take your food to go instead.

Every time we went, missed taking pictures as we dove into our plates. I promise myself I must take pictures! Found this by chance on a day we wanted to go out of our usual… and so glad we did! Best Adana ever had. The food there is cooked just right. We are big lamb lovers. Kabab, yummy. And besides the usual hummus and babaganoush… you must try the eggplant sauce appetizer. Omg wonderful! Hubby loves the Turkish beer! Try not to devour the delicious, light but full bodied bread… you want your stomach to relish your main dishes. Good, nice hard working staff. Lovely décor. You like good value, go during lunch specials… but seriously… The food is on point on all counts… We don’t care when we arrive. We just want some!

If you are looking for delicious, mouthwatering Turkish food, this is the place! The atmosphere and food will make you feel like you are dining in Istanbul! As a Syrian, I am very critical of my middle eastern food and this is one of the places that never, ever fails to deliver and impress. I suggest starting with some appetizer dishes. Both their cold and hot appetizers are phenomenal. Their hummus, eggplant sauce, lebni, and Sheperd salad(get it with the feta, you won’t be disappointed) are great. They give you some delicious bread which I think is from the oh-so-yummy Taskin bakery across the street(see review). If you want to be daring, order the fried liver. It is absolutely amazing. The entrees are all great too, I suggest a combination dish so you can get the best of everything, the doner kebab is a shaved lamb and the adana kebab is a ground lamb kebab. The combination dishes come with rice and grilled vegetables. The kebabs with yogurt are really unique and tasty too, a little heavier and rich but also to die for. If you have any room left after the appetizers and entrees, order some baklava with turkish coffee and your life will be complete!

We’ve eaten there several times and also at the Toros in New Milford. While both are great, we like the old bar setting at the Clifton location. It’s smaller and a little crowded, but more warm and cozy. Wait staff is friendly and efficient. The food is great, too, and the portions are generous. There are the usual kabob combinations, but several typical Turkish preparations, too. Lamb dishes there are especially good — the lamb is always tender, not tough or stringy. The manti are a favorite of mine — big portion of the little dumplings in yogurt sauce. Good appetizers and desserts, too.

Been coming here over 10 years. I fell in love with the good food and ambiance when they only had the original small cramped place with the fish tanks where kids loved to tap & tease the fish. When they opened the new fancy(beautiful) place I thought I’d never go, as I’d miss the old one. Now I only go to the new«fancy» place(across from an awesome 24hr bakery by the way). I should go back at some point. What I like is this is a great place as a date«romantic for two,» or for families. We have even had birthday parties downstairs in the huge space. Everyone we being here loves it. My family has started going here too, as they learned about it over the years. The food is superb. A friend of mine is Turkish and was dating a Turkish girl for a while, we went to 10 or so Turkish places on double dates and this was still our favorite. I sometimes only eat the appetizers(the portions are good). But all the food is great, as is the baklava and rice pudding. Yes try the desserts. The waiters & waitresses actually stay here over the years which I take as a good sign. They are very attentive and make for an environment where I can just relax. Do yourself a favor, take a break & treat yourself to a visit here. This is one of my favorite«treat yourself» places. Enjoy! PS: the bread here comes out hot and is just incredible. I always get the Shepard salad, Lebni and put them together and spread it on the bread. Wow is it good.

I frequently order lunch at this amazing restaurant. The lunch special(pictured) is delicious and reasonably priced, with so many great options! Not only is their food great, but their customer service is remarkable. It makes your dining experience so much better. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Tried both Chicken and Lamb Kebabs and they are both pretty good. Price is very reasonable and this restaurant will take a large groups as well. Had a few company outings and they have been very courteous all times. If you are feeling for some Turkish food, try Toros.

I just love coming to this place! I only have come for lunch(being that I don’t live close and avoid traffic) but just the other day I took my sister out for her BD for dinner and let me tell you ‘amazing’! Food here is just delicious and the service just as great! The manager ‘I believe’ actually didn’t even ask could of been the owner well anyway what a delight he was! Came around a few time to make sure we were ok. When he found out we where there for my sis BD at the end he treated us with desserts! I tell ya what an awesome guy! Again just love this place!

I don’t really have another Turkish restaurant to compare Toros to but I’m going to hand over the 4 stars because I had a yummy meal. My coworker took us to Toros for our dinner break. We decided to take the order to go(time constraint). I would definitely come back and have a meal here. Very inviting atmosphere… nice dim lights/wood décor. The restaurant had a large bar, plenty of seating, and the hostess was really kind. They also have valet parking. The people there all spoke Turkish and my coworker confirmed that it was indeed authentic.(you know those fake restaurants that claim they are authentic but aren’t). The prices on the menu varied-.from $ 4 all the way to $ 28 for larger entrees. I tried the Sigara Boregi($ 6.95)-Pan-fried crispy filo dough filled with feta cheese, parsley & dillI. They were really good. As my entrée I ordered the Shrimp Kebab-Grilled jumbo shrimp served with steam vegetables and rice($ 21.95). The tray was huge but the amount of food, I don’t think was enough to share with someone else. I wasn’t a fan of the rice so I didn’t eat much of it but the shrimp had lots of flavor – squeezed the lemon all over them and the vegetables and I was set! Toros has other locations(New Milford/Paterson) so I’m guessing it’s doing well!

Midye Dolma: knowing what a gem this dish could be, I ordered it with enthusiasm. I wish I didn’t. It was way off. The rice was overcooked which turned it into a mush. The mussle was giant one and overly meaty. You had to chew through an overly cooked shellfish meat that was spongy and quite unplesant. The original dish gets its kick from the al dante rice grains, rich olive oil and the all spice which were completely nonexistent in this dish. Maybe its a sourcing issue? I really wish they could make it properly. Icli kofte: YES! YES! Crisp and yummy outside, warm and moist inside. A bit nutty, a little spicy. This dish was an absolute home run! Acili ezme: this is the Turkish pesto. Again, perfectly executed with walnuts and the right ratio of spices. You might as well be in Turkey eating this. Great stuff! Arnavut cigeri(liver).: they were well spiced and fried but, I think more attention needs to be paid to sourcing here. The dish is supposed to be made with a young veal. That was not the case. The texture was mealy with hard grown veins, definitely from a much older animal. I can’t say it was terrible because with enough lemon and onion you could look beyond the age of the liver. Sourcing aside, the kitchen did a great job. All in all, I got a sense that the restaurant was struggling with its size. They are clearly struggling with sourcing. The authentic cuisine relies heavily on the freshness of ingredients and I do realize that its not an easy feat to pull off. If you have been to Turkey a few times you will notice that the flavours resemble what you had back there, however if you are a native you may be dissapointed with some of the trickier dishes. I also noticed that the restaurant owner or host kept doing his rounds every 5 minutes, making sure no one is frowning at his table. I trust they will improve with that.

One thing that really Stands out The Service The Service The Service I have been in the USA for about 4 years and this restaurant is the first to impress me with the service. I came for lunch with a friend and the place was crowded but in no time the food we order came in and the people work there are super friendly. The food tasted very delicious and fresh and the atmosphere is terrific. All in all, this is one of the best Turkish restaurants, I would definitely come again.

12.99 lunch special ended up being a pretty good deal. One appetizer(all vegetarian), one entrée, soup or salad, and a drink. Not too bad especially if you’re looking for a social place to grab lunch with friends on a weekend. The entrees were on point — our party ordered a variety of chicken, lamb and beef dishes — all were cooked well-seasoned and relatively moist(apparently the beef was somewhat of a disappointment in terms of dryness, but still pretty good per friend). Soup with their complimentary bread is AMAZING. I can’t say enough for the bread — crispy on the outside, warm and soft on the inside. Appetizers were good but if you’re a pure carnivore you’re outta luck. Only disappointment was that only American coffee(not Turkish coffee) was included as part of the lunch special. However, everything else was good and service was pleasant, even though we had a hard time flagging down our busy waitress at times.

Since I moved away from Clifton so many years ago I never had the opportunity to go to Toros. Last week during a visit my niece suggested we go since she had been there before and loved it. I can see why. First, the décor is stunning and the overall atmosphere is wonderful. It’s like being in a restaurant in the Mediterranean. You forget for a while that you are in NJ. The service was excellent. They did not rush us to place our order even though they were crowded. The calamari appetizer and the hummus appetizer were delicious as was the red lentil soup. Their kebabs are awesome. We had veal, chicken, lamb and beef. All tender and cooked to perfection. They served rice, bulgur wheat and grilled tomatoes on the side. After our meal we sat for a while and talked and again they did not rush us out even though their waiting area was packed. We will most definitely be back.

I must be losing my memory as I forgot to review Toros! This Toros differs a lot compared to the Paterson location(which I tried some years back), as this Toros is decorated quite a bit more elegantly and formal versus the more casual atmosphere in Paterson. Notwithstanding the décor, both locations offer some very good Turkish food. For the appetizer I ordered the Sigara Boregi that was very nicely fried, piping hot, and filled with a nice(not overly strong) feta cheese. My entrée was the Pirzola & Adana(Lamb Chops & Adana Kebab) and it was good, though with some inconsistencies… The lamb chops, while nicely seasoned, were a bit overdone with a little char on the top which was not tasty. Conversely the Adana Kebab was grilled very well with a nice peppery seasoning. The side dishes of rice and couscous were excellent and had a nice rich flavor as if seasoned from the meat. Of note was the excellent service from the staff who were all cordial and attentive. Overall the meal was solid, nothing great, which maybe I was expecting from Toros whose reputation is pretty stout.
