Haven’t been here in years until today. We were literally THE only people on the ‘beach’ for the first 1.5 hours (which was awesome!). I swear this place was huge growing up. Now it’s very small, slightly unkempt. 5 beautiful swans called the beach home.
The restrooms were fairly clean, even with the spiderwebs in the sink, lol! No concession anymore. Just sad to see it run down and unvisited now :(

Really enjoyed heading out to Cold Brook for a spontaneous afternoon beach getaway!
A few things to cover here…
For a small 5 $ vehicle entry fee you get beach access on Portage Lake, a disc golf course, hiking trails, a small boat launch/​fishing dock, playgrounds, volleyball/​softball, and picnic shelters! Not too bad, ay?
Stay the day, the night, or the week– campgrounds are present!
The park is pet friendly, minus the beach. Unfortunately, fido will have to keep his paws off the sand. Also, no alcohol is allowed on the beach.
All in all, I’m would gladly go back here any warm sunny day of the week.
