My family eats here at least once a month. The portion size of the Almond bonless chicken is enough for 3 of us. My husband absoulty loves the PHO soup.

Some of the best phở in town I highly recommend it for lunch or dinner. Eat here regularly.

Good food, clean. not the cheapest but not the cost of PF Changs either. I get take out from here regularly and would recommend to anyone. Your typical above average Asian food restaurant, they do have many options, from phở to Thai.

I recently moved back to town from Austin, TX where there is no shortage of great Vietnamese restaurants and each one competes to have the best Phở. So, after reading other Unilocal reviews I decided to give this place a try. I walked in and placed a take-out order consisting of the Phở Dac Biet(combination phở w/sliced beef, well-done brisket, tripe, soft tendon & meatballs) and a Vietnamese coffee. I was pleasantly surprised when I was walking out with my order in less than 10 minutes. I was extremely happy with the flavor combinations in the Phở. There was a depth to the broth that I hadn’t experienced before(and I have had a lot of Phở). The beef broth had a sweetness underneath and the heat, which was not overpowering, presented itself at the perfect time. I will recommend this restaurant to all of my friends and will probably become a regular.

I really like Minh Chau. They do a great job. They are more of a take-out joint. I get Phở here routinely. It’s really good.

I use to drive to Chicago just to get PHO. Those were very long road trips from Detroit with a car loaded with little kids just to get soup. It was amazing soup so I guess the trips were not so bad. Then I joined the ARMY, and luckily got stationed in Hawaii, Asian heaven. PHO everywhere! Well it doesn’t get better than real Asian food made by people who came from those countries! Hawaii is the Mecca of the American Asian World. Until yesterday, I couldn’t find PHO worth eating in Michigan. No one does it like they do in Hawaii… no one. Until NOW. This PHO was as good as it was in Hawaii. It resembled every single bit of that freshness, that quality, that earthy goodness that PHO should taste like. PHO is the only soup that comes De-Constructed when you get it carry out, and this is done to keep all components fresh, and then when you get home, you put it all together and enjoy. The way it is suppose to be! I ate in, and I m glad I did… never going anywhere else in this state for this PHO. Wonderful.

The food was decent but when we had an issue, the lady had the owner come out to speak to us. He was very rude and condescending to us. We explained to him the issue but he did not take any ownership of the situation or take any action to correct it. His customer service skills are awful, I have never experienced treatment like this, especially from the owner of a business. He stated«that is fine» when we said that we would not come back to eat at the restaurant. He also stated«that is fine» when we said that we would tell others of our experience and recommend that they do not eat there. He stated«that is fine» when we commented that treating customers like this would be a reason his business would fail. Really, is this a place you want to go spend your hard earned money. The owner couldn’t care less about his customers.

Great service. Fantastic food. Very fresh and lots of flavor. We had general Tao chicken(mild+) and chicken lo mein. My wife also really enjoyed the coconut bubble tea. We will be back for sure.

Mediocre and it makes my stomach hurt every time. I am allergic to dairy, but this is asian food so it shouldn’t be a problem.

I only live a few blocks from here and cannot believe I have never eaten here! I only gave 4 out of 5 stars because I want to go back and try dining in and try the Phở that everyone is raving about. I ordered a carry out and was very surprised at how hot everything stayed until I got home, got my toddler situated for his favorite rice and chicken dinner, and then sat down to eat. A little disappointed that my General Tsao’s chicken didn’t come with broccoli as it does at most places, but that’s ok. It was still delicious.

I have to agree with all the great reviews this place gets. Simply outstanding! I had the Phở Dac Biet(V10) and it was simply delicious. One of the best Phở bowls I ever had. I’m no Phở expert but, I know what my taste buds tell me. Just great. My wife had the General Tsao’s Chicken and is was superb. Very similar to the outstanding fair available at Shin Shin in Windsor. Light, crisp batter and wonderfully tasty sauce. Well balanced and lip smacking good. This place is a gem. The prices are a little bit on the high side but the food is worth every penny they are asking. The service was very good also. We will be back, many more times. Kudos to Minh Chau!

I am not one to order Chinese food on the regular, but I am glad I did at this place. Ordered a carry out. The man on the phone was so jolly and friendly I couldn’t help but laugh. Talking to him in person at the restaurant was even better. He totally made my experience with this place top notch. The food was also very good and was not questionable looking or tasting. I Ordered the Shrimp and Broccoli. The prices were reasonable for the portion size as well. I will be coming back here in the near future and probably only here from now on for Chinese. update: This place must use a lot of MSG in their food. my stomach was in knots and I was feeling super nauseated after I left here. I will have to pick a different dish next time.

This place can and probably will be a five star place sooner than later. Husband and I came here on a whim since we were visiting on the east side. Phở has become one of those meals where we are always pining for it, but once we go somewhere that’s just mediocre, we get discouraged to try it again at a different spot. I’m happy to say that Minh Chau pleasantly delivered on all counts when it came to eating phở. Not only was the broth deep and developed in flavor, it was served steaming hot with boat loads of meats, brisket, tendon, and tripe. Oh and we can’t forget the noodles — soooooo much! I’d say it was easily half a package of the standard rice noodles you can buy, or even more than that. I recommend that if your appetite is on the smaller side, or you’re just not in the mood to eat a lot, GETONEBOWL and split it. At $ 9.25 for the phở dac biet, it is more than enough and you can taste all the different cuts of meat. There’s no way around it. :) One added thing is that the cilantro is minced just enough without being butchered. Ahhh, love cilantro. :) The summer rolls($ 4) as they call it, are soft, springy, and the thai basil is the magic ingredient here. If you really like them, get one order for yourself. I like that the shrimp and pork still have their flavor; indicating the freshness. The peanut sauce was a tad too salty for my liking, but not overwhelmingly so. Service was attentive and the young ladies are so sweet. We had a Vietnamese coffee that was okay, but just too sweet. We probably won’t get that again. Bathrooms and the general condition of the restaurant are very clean too. We also received free music entertainment, per next door’s pub. I’d advise that if you’re looking for a quiet place to dine, that might just ruin it for you. I’m not sure if it’s like that normally, or if it’s just because it’s the weekend close to Halloween. In any case, that won’t keep me from coming back, and the phở and summer rolls I can vouch for, and they are definitely worth a try. Next time I’ll have to get their dry vermicelli bowls and grilled pork chop. :)

The best phở place in this area!!! :) clean and quiet place. Friendly people! I went to different vietnamese places but this one is the best ever. I come here almost every weekend. I highly recommend to order vietnamese section here but Chinese section is just okay.

Ordered the phở with everything and the pork chops. I’m from southern CA so I’ve had my fair share of Westminster and Garden Grove goodness. The phở was above average as was the pork chop. This was a pleasant surprise in metro Detroit.

As good as it gets in eastern Macomb county for Phở. We love the house special phở as well as the pad thai. Granted, the pad thai is a bit different than it would be from a thai place, but still very good. The restaurant itself is very nice, would be a great date spot. When I was there, our waiter spoke English very well and was very attentive and polite. Have ordered take out as well and it is always solid. We are so happy there is now great Vietnamese/Chinese close to our house. Also, the place always seems busy, which is a great sign. All of my friends that I have recommended this place to have been satisfied as well. Keep up the good work!

So because of the service and cleanliness for a mom and pop Asian restaurant, this place deserves 4 stars. The owners are Vietnamese and super nice. But the food is really a 3 star deal. The Vietnamese beef phở is actually pretty good and on par with the ones in Madison heights. The summer rolls are fresh with a delightful and salty peanut/tamarind sauce(maybe a little too salty) But the Chinese food, this is when it all falls apart. I was so excited to see a chef special of beef chow fun! Could this be one of my fav Cantonese chinese wide flat noodle dishes? Do I no longer have to hike to Madison heights or fly to Chicago/Toronto? But to my disappointment, it truly doesn’t make the cut. The beef cut was phở cuts and the noodles were phở noodles vs wide noodles. I don’t think many people order this dish, and he just threw it together. If you order Chinese, I would stick to the American Chinese fare. I mean how do you mess up fried chicken with some sweet and sour sauce? Now, the only thing that bothers me is they charge for tea. No traditional Asian place besides Japanese or pf chang’s charges for tea. And in general, the Vietnamese food is slightly higher than places in Madison heights. But– when it is cold like yesterday and today, I will go back for some phở. Next time, I think I will try the other Vietnamese dishes.

PHOIS5STARS! This review is for the Phở primarily. I know it doesn’t encompass the entire menu they’re offering, but it was 5 stars none the less. I’ve eaten at many of the Madison Heights Vietnamese places, and the broth here was above and beyond. Menu offerings are far narrower in the Vietnamese category, as well as the Thai food. Withholding a star as the Pad Ped and Summer Rolls were ‘ok’, and haven’t tried much else. — V2 $ 3, Egg Roll(see Spring Roll): Stuffed full of the flavored pork, very long and you get 2. Better bang for buck than most places, and a step ahead on flavor. Served with traditional garlic fish sauce. — V3 $ 4, Summer Rolls: Quality roll, on par with some other Vietnamese establishments, but little light on vermicelli noodle inside so overall smaller. Obligatory peanut sauce with it. — V10 $ 9, Phở Dac Biet: Mouth watering Phở with rare sliced beef, well done brisket, tendon, tripe, and meat balls. WOW was the development of broth way ahead of anything I had before. It was both complex, but simple in its flavor profile. The gentleman who waited on us seemed to be part owner /leader. Was very helpful with questions, and at the end we talked Phở. He explained how they select their bones for the stock, and season to taste rather than just ‘measure and mass produce’. It really showed. I was taking a friend out for her bday, she never had phở and sampled mine. She loved the broth. I had her try it virgin first, then with hosin and sriracha. She ordered the Pad Ped chicken, which is a Thai dish with curry and coconut milk. T2 on the menu, $ 10.
