It got increasingly difficult to get a fire started in the wood stove without filling the room with smoke. I knew something was wrong and didn’t want to risk a chimney.
It took a couple of tries to get an appointment but when Mr and Mrs AllServ (its a husband and wife team but I didn’t catch their names) arrived with a truck full of industrial grade chimney cleaning tools, I knew I’d made the right choice. These folks were very professional even though this cleaning was apparently about 19 years overdue. I envisioned a fine layer of soot everywhere when they were done but they left the area cleaner than when they arrived.
Besides just cleaning, they, inspected the stove and chimney for damage, gave advice on firewood, fire starting techniques (think I’ll pass on the propane torch method though, seems like cheating ;^), They have a litany of other professional maintenance services as well.
And they didn’t charge an arm and a leg or put on a heavy up-​sell to commit to a long –term contract. Definitely will call them again.
