Great local shop. Rachel and Gardner are so accommodating and knowledgeable for those at all levels. The service and advice are top notch. I recently bought my first bike there and I am so pleased with my experience. My father also used to work with them.

Great customer service. Brought my bike in expecting to leave it a week and they worked on it right on the spot and I was back out the door in 30 minutes with the bike working just like new.

I second what Brendan C. wrote in his comments. His very positive and constructive experience lines up exactly with mine! I refer people to Gardner and Rachel who are interested in riding, but don’t know exactly what they may be looking for. Gardner and Rachel work with people extremely well, asking questions about how you think you’ll use the bike then suggest a model — road, hybrid, mountain. You don’t get that attention in many LBS, and forgot about that in the big box stores like Walmart.
Regarding repairs, I recall I had a fairly bent wheel that I took to another LBS who trued it, took my $ 20 and gave it back. The next ride I was breaking spokes again. So I took it to Gardner, which should have been my first step, who gently suggested that the rim was bent beyond reasonable repair and I should consider a replacement wheel. Again, integrity and honesty. No B.S. here.

I’ve been using Clinton Bike Shop ever since I moved to Hunterdon about 15 years ago. Gardner is the best mechanic I’ve dealt with. He really knows his stuff, and gives excellent advice. I’ve bought 2 bikes there, but have also had them service bikes I bought elsewhere with no problems. And they prefer that you schedule any maintenance in advance, so you can drop off and pick up the same day. It’s a small shop, so they don’t have huge inventory, but they will order pretty much anything you might need.

Great place for repairs. Gardner and his wife were very accommodating. Bought one bike from them so far and happy with the purchase and experience. Best shop in the area.

Great Business, I worked with Rachel and Gardner to fix my sons electric bike, and they are both technically good, as well as understood that repairing a bike is a repair, and were sensitive to cost throughtout the process. I bought a bicycle from Gardner and Rachel a couple of years ago. They were both extremely pleasant to deal with and have excellent memories for all of their customers! They recalled my name and what model bicycle I purchased when I visited them nearly a year after the date of purchase. I’ve been in bike shops where the sales rep was attempting to sell people «more bicycle» than they obviously needed. Gardner and Rachel are not like that. They talk with you about what your realistic intentions are with the bike and help you find the one that meets your needs and price range. It is little things like this that make me appreciate small, family-​run businesses like the Clinton Bicycle Shop.
