Is it just this Cracker Barrel or is it all of them? Went there on a recent Friday for dinner and my wife and I were very, very disappointed. Yes, the CB is inexpensive… where else can two people order dinner for about $ 20? The phrase«you get what you pay for» used to not apply to the CB as you used to get pretty good quality for a very reasonable price. But our most recent experience supports the old adage. We both order the Friday special«fish fry». I’ve had the cod version of this several times in the past and it’s essentially an order of fish and chips with cole slaw. This time however, it was really bad. My wife had the catfish version as opposed to the cod and they were both terrible. I’m pretty sure they gave me catfish, not the cod I ordered to begin with but it’s almost impossible to tell the difference when the order received consists of 6 or 7 oddly shaped pieces of grayish white protein coated in some sort of breading. These were not reminiscent of real fish at all; not like it usually is. These were sort of fish trimmings they just battered up and fried. They weren’t discernible as filets at all. As for the rest of the dish, the fries were ok and the cole slaw is usually pretty good. The server was nice enough; they usually are. Maybe this is a one off but we’ve noticed on other visits things there are slipping. Hope they improve.

I’m not sure how a place like this can screw up breakfast… But it just wasn’t very good. I would much rather go to a diner in the area.

This place is my favorite! We stop here every year on our way to cut down the Christmas tree. Our waitress was SO nice and very accommodating. We had someone at our table with food allergies and she was able to make suggestions and make sure his food was cooked perfectly. The food was great, as always and everybody’s order was correct with no problems. It’s super fun to look in the country store afterwards. Very nice staff and super helpful with whatever you need.

I have never had a bad meal at any Cracker Barrel. For breakfast I usually have the Grandma’s Pancake Breakfast. The coffee is good and is always refilled. Our tab, for three of us, was $ 25 and change. And of course, we like looking in the country store.

So, I’ve been to a lot of Cracker Barrels, and this one is unfortunately the worst. While staying at the hotel next door on a business trip, my colleague and I stopped by because it was literally the only restaurant close by. We could have ventured out, but didn’t want to get back in the car again. Anyway, I love Cracker Barrel, so was happy to see that we could just walk there. From start to finish, everything was just underwhelming. The service was strange to say the least. Our waiter was either new or trying to be funny. I ordered their special cranberry apple tea, and it didn’t really taste like anything. For our meals, my colleague got the fried chicken salad, and I ordered the chicken biscuits from their breakfast menu. About 15 minutes later, the salad came without chicken! The server, who was different, had no idea what was going on, and then our actual waiter came by and just took the salad back, saying that chicken wasn’t even close to being done! I mean, that’s fine, but it was just weird! After waiting about another 15 minutes, our food finally came, and everything was correct — except I was missing the gravy that came with my biscuits. Not a big deal — I usually don’t like white gravy. Our server never came back to check on us after that, and they weren’t busy at all. My colleague had to ask a random person for water. Her salad was just OK, and I thought that my chicken biscuits tasted frozen. The biscuits and chicken both had a strange aftertaste. The scrambled eggs and hash brown casserole were as expected, however after picking up my second chicken biscuit, I suddenly lost my appetite because there was a hair underneath it. Meanwhile, our waiter came and just left the bill on our table. Good thing we didn’t want dessert! It was disappointing to say the least, but it was only $ 22 for the both of us, so I feel like I shouldn’t complain.

Definitely an old time favorite. Road trips really aren’t complete without stopping into Cracker Barrel. They’re always conveniently located right off the interstate. This place screams southern comfort food. That being said, the biscuits and cornbread are amazing. Obviously. I really, really love their fried apples. A lot. It’s like the filling of an apple pie but 100x better. On my last visit, I had the chicken fried chicken and my brother had the fried steak. My cousin had the fried chicken tenderloins. Everything is really very good, obviously fried, but not too greasy. I don’t eat fried chicken often(or fried food in general) but this was something my stomach could handle. Prepare to gain like 5 pounds. You really get a bang for your buck here. Portions are normal, not too big, not too small. Five of us ordered five meals and our bill was only ~$ 50. I suppose this review describes every Cracker Barrel location that I’ve been to in NJ/PA/upstate NY area. They really are all the same, as it should be, considering it’s a chain. They also have a nice store with cute things and a patio with rocking chairs. You can sit on the rocking chairs while you wait or purchase them which is cool. Next time you’re on a road trip and see signs for Cracker Barrel, stop in. It’s so worth it.

It is no secret that I absolutely love me some Cracker Barrel! From the biscuits and cornbread they serve you to the chicken fried chicken there is nothing more comforting than that to me. After along day of atv riding out in PA I was exhausted but so excited to wake up to pulling into the cracker barrel parking lot! We arrived around 9pm and were seated rite away. Our waitress was very friendly and came over rite away to take our drink orders. For me a cup of coffee and a diet root beer… quite the combination lol. My coffee was heaven sent being I was barely able to keep my eyes open and my root beer well how the hell do you go wrong with Stewarts root beer(you dont). I decided on the breaded shrimp for dinner this time with mac and cheese, cheesy grits and sweet potato fries. Everything was delish especially my hush puppies that came along with the shrimp. My boyfriend finally found something he really likes the chicken fried chicken with the white gravy! FINALLYHELIKESSOMETHING! Now maybe I won’t have to beg him so much to take me here again! Everyone was so happy with their meals when we left we shopped around the little store and picked up some old school candy and headed home. Thank you Cracker Barrel for the amazing meal that filled our bellies the whole way home to NJ!

Food is consistent with any cracker barrel. The coca-cola cake is definitely the best! I love the chicken ‘n dumplins. I’ve visited less frequently over the years because the service and management has been poor. During my last visit I witnessed the manager telling at the hostess for not sweeping the floor. An understandable concern, but I don’t believe one should reprimand their employees in front of guests. I am a big fan of the retail shop inside. I can’t go without collecting some moon pies! The staff there is always helpful, and bless Doris for being loyal for so many years! I don’t know her personally but she is memorable and always a pleasure; definitely an asset to the store. All in all I give a solid 3 stars. CB is average but could use some improvements.

Andrew was our server he was very nice my wife and I ordered wholesome baked chicken dinners after several minutes we were told they only had one left and it would take an additional 15 minutes for the second one I ordered chicken tender dinner our sides were hash brown casserole COLD. Broccoli, baked apples, Warm and the one baked chicken was dry and lukewarm only thing that was hot, was fried chicken tenders must have cooked these to order, NOT a good visit and since when did you stop offering biscuits or corn muffins with dinner? Worst Cracker Barrel ever!

What a bunch of friendly folks! I told them I wanted to buy this amazing hand cream being sold at another Cracker Barrel Old Country Store. These folks looked from stem to stern trying to find it(They didn’t) but I appreciated the effort. Lets talk lunch at the Cracker Barrel Old Country Store! Where else can you go up north to get catfish and grits? Man. Do I love fried catfish. Oh boy oh boy! Mmmm mm! My mom tried to make this for me when I came home from being overseas and she made it with parmesan. God Bless her. I love Cracker Barrel Old Country Store!

Country fried chicken is good but most everything seems cheap. If you want to take a huge family here or you want a cheap meal, go here. It’s good food but nothing to knock your socks off.

I’m not even ashamed to say that I love Cracker Barrel. I used to think when you came here you pretty much HAD to order something like chicken fried steak, chicken fried chicken, chicken and dumplings, something with biscuits and country fried gravy, etc. Now, all of that stuff is well and good. But the lady and I came to try out their Wholesome Fixin’s menu, and we were pleasantly surprised. Dinners under 600 calories and they were really delicious! The Apple Cider BBQ Chicken Breast with Apple Chutney was flavorful, juicy and tender. The pork chop was perfectly cooked and juicy. Great job! Seriously. I didn’t think this place could get any better. It’s cheap, it’s delicious, there’s games you can play while you wait, they sell candy, and now they have healthy menu options? S I just wish there was one closer to me.

Pretty lousy food quality. Everything tasted like it was frozen minutes before and overly salty. One huge pet peeve of mine is when waiters put down other waiters as an excuse to why we are missing a part of our order or why service is slow. I don’t want to hear«Oh, she forgot to bring it out? I’ll go get it» just apologize and fix the problem and work as a team.

The good the bad the ugly. Perkins Dennys, diner, anywhere better than this place. Third time I was there and all three bad. Three times because others have gone and paid not me. I will not be going back even for free. The good(just barely) French toast, biscuits, pancakes. The bad — bad sausage patties, undercooked bacon, bad watered down coffee, grits no flavor. The ugly — worst service ever. Waitress served food and was not seen until thirty minutes. Not friendly or personable. While serving table had pot of coffee on tray balanced over my niece. Sausage gravy is a bland flour soup with no sausage in it.

Hmmm where to begin… Arrived here on a rainy Saturday night with 3 other girls in tow. I have heard so many opinions on this place that when this place was local to us i just had to go. We arrived and immediately noticed the rocking chairs on the front porch. So cute and cozy. If it wasn’t raining we defiantly would of sat and rocked for a bit. The entrance of the restaurant is the store. The store is super cute and has tons of tchotchkes. Everything seemed very reasonably priced. We were directed by a very friendly staff member towards the actual restaurant entrance. There was a small line in front of us, but it went by very fast. No more then 3 minutes. As we were escorted to our table we noticed a burning fireplace in the dinning room. We felt the warmth as we walked by, nice touch. We sat and looked over the menu. A waitress came and took our drink orders, i saw they had a raspberry tea so i ordered that. Waitress came back with our drinks and i took a sip and immediate had her bring me a diet coke. IT was overly sweet, to the point of a headache. I decided on the roast beef dinner and ordered my sides, mac and cheese, corn and slaw. The other girls had the country fried steak and a bacon cheese burger. The food came very quickly. I took my first bite of the mac and it was lukewarm. Everything on all of our plates was lukewarm. My roast beef looked like it came from a microwavable dinner. The corn was drenched in butter. My friends country fried steak was more like hamburger fried steak. Her green beans came from a can no doubt about that. The burger was nothing special. We opted for no dessert. I gave 2 stars for the service and the cute store in the front. Other then that i could not see myself returning here. Maybe to get a salad if that. The service was great, all staff was very friendly.

I have not been to a Cracker Barrel in many, many years. A long time ago I had a very bad experience in a Cracker Barrel in the Mid-west and had long since decided never to go to one again. But, here I was in Central New Jersey at a hotel with no car and only a Cracker Barrel within walking distance. So, I bit the bullet and walked over. It looks exactly like the one I recall from years ago. There is a country store/gift shop in the front and the restaurant in back. They have wooden peg board games at each table for you to play with while you wait(and buy if you want). The menu is very southern or country — country fried steak, country fried chicken, fried chicken, chicken and dumplings, etc. Not being that adventurous after last time(I won’t recount the story), I opted for a hamburger, fries and a coke. The plate they serve the dinner on is small. I guess it makes the food look bigger. In fact, I’m certain that has something to do with it — there were very few french fries, but I didn’t realize at first. The burger was ½ pound, so it clearly was large. The meat was okay, not really great. The fries were actually very good. After I was done, I had some time to kill so walked around the gift shop. Well, the candy part of the gift shop anyway. They have all the cool candies I remember from when I was a kid — sugar dots, laffy taffy, they even have the wax bottles with sugary syrup in them. I got a few things for the road, and had a happy night snacking on sugary treats.

Who doesn’t love Cracker Barrel! Being from Long Island I don’t get my Cracker Barrel fix very often, last weekend we were in a animal rescue transport and our meeting point was Cracker Barrel. Boy was I happy! Sticky Bun French Toast!!! That’s all I have to say. Great food, great service. I never pass up a chance to come here. Plus you get to look around in the country store, there is always something there you need.
