Im here now because I heard they have free poker on Tuesday nights. Its a poker league and its free to play. Why not. But Im also here enjoying the deals they have going for happy hour. The potato skins and wings are .50, yes 50¢ a piece. And not only are they good, they are BIG! Like genuine Idaho potato big. and the wings are twice as big as Buffalo Wild Wings sparrow wings they serve. They also have great happy hour drink specials-I got a vodka cran for $ 5 and Rob makes sure you get the $ 5 worth. Rob is the man. He is behind the bar. Attentive and personable. I will admit that its Tuesday, so its definitely not a million people in here, but I hear they have a pretty big crowd for Karaōke on Wednesday… may need to check that out. Anyway, I like keeping a few dollars in my pocket to eat, and some free poker to pass the time… If you like poker, this would be a good spot to check out. Games start at 7pm.

This club is located at Colony South Hotel, right next to Southern Maryland Hospital. While I’m familiar with the Hotel, I don’t know too much about it. I didn’t realize it also houses a club! The Decoy Lounge is exactly what you’d expect from a PG County urban lounge/club… not pretentious, ok parking, 30 and over, chill, relaxed vibe. Medium sized dance floor, huge bar, lots of seating. I went for a 30th bday celebration. Waitresses seemed attentive, decent seating and the music was right(R&B, hip hop, my groove 90’s mix– not the overly abused 90’s mix of rap– tribe called quest/biggy/or Tupac). While I can’t comment on the food, drinks, service or bartenders I am willing to return for the overall vibe, music and ease of access. It’s not fancy shmancy, but a decent atmosphere for a good time without too many of the pretenses you get when going into the city, where people worry about dressing a part than actually having a good time. A live band also plays on Saturday nights. Because I was with a party, I’m unsure of the cover charge.

Perhaps I am a bit biased because I am from the DMV but currently live in RVA so when I can find somewhere back home to go and have a great time it’s a winner. I went on Saturday night for my bestie’s birthday celebration and the Faycez U Know band(awesome group) were playing. I totally enjoyed the music. I enjoyed the drinks and the wings(old bay) were so amazing. The wing dipping cream was amazing. I almost capped the cup of what was left over and put it in my purse(almost ratchet moment lol). The lounge is very classy and even upscale. It was a mature crowd of mostly 30 and up folks. Everyone enjoyed themselves and the staff were amazing. The security guards were very friendly and not overbearing with flexing their power or being smart mouths to sincere questions or concerns. My favorite person of the whole night was the waitress/bartender named Christmas. It was her second day and she was so amazingly friendly, attentive and thorough. It’s something I am aware of because if I am new to a spot I need to feel welcomed that someone is happy I stopped by. When you’re there and if you sit in her area, she’s easy to spot — tiny and terrific, you will be well taken care of. My group was 10 deep and I always worry when you’re building a tab separately will they get it right when the check comes and surely they did. Hats off to her and they lady training her. Good recommendations on the drinks as well. A lot of people did mention that the food and drinks were pricey. I can say it was standard for what you’re getting. The cover for the night was $ 15 for us but was $ 10-$ 20 depending on arrival. So, all and all it was a decent expense. Now, would I blow $ 50 every Saturday night there, if I had it maybe but on occasion definitely. I look forward to coming back there when I am home again.

We traveled from Annapolis on Sat. 12−31−16 … Totally Disappointed. Except for the band«Faces you know» they were great. This is one of those get a beer after work spots … A In and Out Happy Hour Spot at best. This ISNOT A DATENIGHTSPOT !!! … Men DONOTTAKEYOURLADYTHERE, unless she’s a hmmm, homie type, a barfly type, or one of the fellas type of female … This place is not for making a good impression. Its NOTENOUGHSEATING, you cannot order dinner and have space for your plate; the tables are too close, its near impossible to pull your chair out. I am not a big person, I am petite and I tell you it was terribly uncomfortable. The clientele(SMH) let’s just say manners is not their strong suit, rude, the bartender too busy socializing, I had people leaning all over me at the bar, no excuse me, or pardon me, just ignorant and as I said the bartender so busy chatting up the rude homeboys that he never once corrected the service situation … He encouraged this rudeness The staff is nice, and accommodating, however the«Dress Code» is a joke! … My husband was told that he couldn’t wear his hat, however there were guys in jeans, tennis shoes, tank tops, … These things were spelled out clearly at the door as «nonacceptance attire» but they were permitted entry! … They were wearing coats, which they could easily conceal weapons or drugs… but my husband could not wear his dress hat(not baseball cap, not a skull cap). The food was HORRIBLE! … LIMITEDMENU {Bar Food, not Dinner Food} Wings Over Cooked(Burnt), the Mozzarella Sticks Over Fried, Cheese cooked clean out of them! … Hot water poured out of cheese stick(because they were frozen) … If you want good food, good atmosphere, clean and working toilets, along with live entertainment and mannerly clientele and have a great over all experience then GOTOTHEHALFNOTE in Bowie, MD.

I met some friends at the Decoy Lounge. The band(Vybe Band) was pretty good. They got people up and dancing. The crowd was diverse in age. The service, however, sucked! When I arrived I asked the server about specials. It was on a Friday and during what most would consider to be happy hour. She said that there were no specials. After bringing me a table advertisement and a menu I found that there were numerous drink specials. I was seated at approximately 6.40 pm. Happy hour was over at 7. She didn’t return to my table until 6.55. The apple martini cocktail was pretty good but they served skunk Mascato. The sweet chili wings were okay. I probably would’ve given an extra star if my fries didn’t come out fifteen minutes after my wings AND cold!!! Then we have the patron who was in the wheelchair(he had one leg) who was rolling over people’s feet and running his wheelchair down the steps. Since they have a sunken dancefloor they may want to consider getting a ramp to the dancefloor. I have so much more to say but I’ll stop here. Visit this place if you want to listen to a good band and have a pretty decent apple martini.

An outdated excuse for entertainment hosting in Pg county. Feels like an African American Cheers with old cougars and old married men who stepped out for cigarettes. Had a dark, dank feel and the door men had the audacity to try and enforce a dress code. Has potential but definitely in need of an update. My date and I requested top shelf margaritas and they didn’t stock the tequila. I try to keep my hard earned money in Maryland, however I will not settle for subpar bars with slow service no matter where I go. When you know better, you do better, the Decoy Lounge should follow suit.

Please NOTE: this review is only applicable to the service. The food and beverages were fine(but pricey for a place like this), the ambience was nice and the band that played Saturday(the Red Sessions) was nothing short of awesome. Now. let’s talk about that service… **narrows eyes/cracks knuckles** I arrived about 7:30 on Saturday because I was warned the place fills early when there’s a good band. My girls were already there holding a table, and had ordered their first round.(Note: there was food still sitting there — this is important for later). When the waitress finally came, she barely addressed me. I ordered a drink(a tasty peach mojito) and knocked it off. As we were CLEARLY there to see the band — I was a little surprised to see a check especially when I hadn’t asked for one, and even further surprised to see that it already included a 15% service charge. I decided I wanted another drink, and some food. I grabbed a menu off another table since there were none at ours and homegirl never asked if I wanted anything else. I had the menu next to my arm when I noticed the waitress in the vicinity. I looked down for the menu and she had snatched it right off the table.(picture my dry ass face). I told her I wanted to order food… and another drink. Drink comes(tasty peach margarita) … Food eventually comes and it’s fine(a little salty but isn’t most bar food?) I was taking my time and babysitting the plate, bc we were going to be there for a while. Sure enough, here comes the waitress to offer me a box and toting another check. She wasn’t directly RUDE to me but there was something totally off. I mean… was that my hint to LEAVE?(and I note that others had had food sitting uneaten on the table longer than mine prior to my arrival and no boxes were offered(I asked my table mates). I took the box… and sat there and enjoyed the band and finished my food. This particular outing I was paying cash(it’s unusual for me), so I left the money with the check right on the table. She didn’t even look for it — but she did ask me in a tone I didn’t appreciate if I was ready to pay. Naw, slim. I’mma just skip this check and leave you REALLY stuck.(wtf)? I was also told that the 15% service charge on the bill wasn’t even a tip for the waitstaff, but more so the tip-out to the bussers and expediters, etc. All I have to say to that is that if the waitstaff was working at the level they’re supposed to be, they’d receive adequate tips to cover the tip out. All that being said, I was in such fine company that evening that I will go back when the same band is playing there next, except I’ll eat before I go and pack my own sippy cup.

Ghetto! Horrible place. Horrible food and service. Only thing good about this place is that a hospital is right across the street to sew your stab wounds.

Decided to try the Decoy lounge on Wednesday night. I thought it was a bit strange that they had a 5 $ cover for a karaōke spot. But whatever, I paid it and went in. The atmosphere was really cool lots of people mingling and having a good time. The karaōke itself is very live and entertaining, they even had some good acts. Didn’t get to try the food this time around but it seemed like everyone had wings. So they probably are good. Decided to go to the bar and grab a cold one. Asked the bartender for a Yuengling on tap. She said that it was $ 6.50. Don’t want to sound like an El Cheapo but $ 6.50 for a second rate beer is outrageous. I didn’t even bother to ask about the other drink prices. This would be a very nice place if the prices where a little more reasonable. But maybe that’s why it is a good place. Oh and they have a security guard walking around with enough battle rattle on for WWIII. And this is coming from a U. S. Marine with eleven years of service.

I frequent Decoy mainly for the Friday night performances… the food is good to me… you HAVE to get there early at least by 7… eat…drink and the band comes on at 9… you are guaranteed a seat. So plan ahead :-)

I really want to like this place. Fool me once shame on you… fool me twice shame on me. I went here on Saturday 9÷8÷12 for a birthday party. Our party was seated to the left directly below the air conditioning vent making it probably the coldest part of the room –Strike 1. I ordered a chicken quesadilla that took 30mins and 3 inquiries before it arrived — sans silverware. I had to flag down a security guard for that. Strike — 2. No sooner than I had finished my food the bill arrived??? All I had to drink was water — I wanted to order a glass of wine(or two).but the service was so lacking in this place.(Ironically — the gentleman who came and sat at the table behind me. received far better service. Within 10mins of placing his order he received his food.) After another 20mins I ended up taking my bill to the bar to pay — but I could have just as easily left without paying and no one would have noticed. Strike 3. I brought this to the attention of the manager as I was paying my bill. Unfortunately this experience mirrored my 1st one from 2010⁄2011 on Wednesday — Karoake night. You can go here and listen to the music but please don’t expect stellar service from the wait staff as they are limited in number. The bar didn’t seem to fare much better either. I can’t say that I’ll be back on my own dime.

This place is great! The food is delicious and the drinks are good(and strong) if that’s how you like it. Karaōke is a blast and so are the bands on Fridays and Saturdays. I believe the cover charge for karaōke night is $ 5.00 and $ 10.00 on the weekend. The service can be so-so depending on who is your server. But overall, you will have a good time here, despite the outdated look.

I feel so indifferent about this place. The décor is a little outdated. Well there’s no doubt about it. It’s extremely outdated. Something like a time warp. What can one expect for this old outdated hotel. I’ve visited several times for lunch only… The food is pretty delicious. I would probably give the food at least 3 or 4 stars. The creamy crab soup is the best I’ve ever tasted… great chicken sandwich, tuna melt, and salmon… slightly overpriced for a bar food menu. So I’ve never actually experienced the actual lounge concept of this place(as in after 5). It’s a nice size, which is good for large or small gatherings. The bar is pretty large and there is a loft area that seems perfect for small private functions… amongst locals — this place is a hit, especially on karaōke night…

I’ve come here a couple times with friends who live close by. Some nights, its nobody here, but NOT on karaōke night. OHMY is it packed out! I mean, you pay a dollar to get in which frankly you have it in quarters in your car, so it’s cool. The food and service is decent, and reasonably priced. You will have to park way across the lot because it really does get packed. All in all, its a decent spot.

Went on Karaōke night. The experience was about average. Jack Daniels is considered«top shelf». The performers were not too bad and I had a good time. The service is a bit slow because they had two bartenders tending to about 50 people so it takes a while to get a drink. Most of the crowd was 35+ and everyone seemed laid back. I’ll go back but it won’t be a regular spot.

Went here with a friend a while back and got to say I won’t be going back. So, I went on a Wednesday which is Karaōke night. This place was stuffed to the gills when I got there. Finding a seat was almost impossible and the drinks while affordable weren’t the greatest. The only entertaining thing about the place was the people participating in the karaōke. They were all an amazing variety of characters that were just hilarious. The Decoy Lounge itself was just not that impressive to me.

I made my way out to Clinton, MD Thursday evening to watch a friend perform in a Belly dancing exhibition. The event was held in the Decoy Lounge which is located in the Colony South Hotel & Conference Center. The lounge has a wildlife, outdoorsy feel to it. There is not much to distinguish it — the food and drinks were not very good, the drinks were less than average, and the service was lousy. There was a $ 5.00 cover charge to get in for the event. I ordered the Nachos — they took forever to come out — it seemed like the lounge was understaffed wait-staff wise. When the Nachos did come out — they just were not very good. It tasted like melted cheeze whiz, pseudo chili, and lousy guacamole. I ordered a Guinness, and then a Vodka Martini — dirty — it had to be the single worst Martini I’ve ever tasted. and it was room temperature. Bleah!
